Worst customer relations ever. Supervisors lie about who they are, they refuse to deal with problems and then become rude because their employees don’t know how to do their jobs properly. If you want disgusting rooms and rude employees feel free to at the Texas city, TX holiday inn express.

Didn't stay here let's get that out the way 1st and foremost. Why I didn't stay because of the extremely rude front desk person who answered the phone. Since when can't you get a straight answer before you make a reservation? January 31 2023. I planned on grabbing a couple of rooms for work in the area. Guess they are doing so good they don't need my business. Oh well no stars for the front desk staff.

I would not suggest this place to anyone! There was some confusion on the online check in. I was under the impression I could cancel my reservation up until 6pm the day of check in. I canceled my reservation and noticed they had already charged my card. I called to find out what the issue was, the staff was extremely rude and said they couldn't do anything for me and I would have to wait for the manager to call me the next day. I asked for some kind of record stating that I had canceled before 6pm, since I never received a cancelation email and was just verbally told they would cancel my reservation. My husband called back a little later only to be told they were actually able to issue a refund for the room. That was on Friday, I still have not received my refund.

My family and I stayed for the weekend, now all three of us have bed bug bites all over our bodies, this hotel actually needs to be completely remodeled.

I arrived at the hotel Friday and we got our room the toilet would not work right I had to take the top off to flush the toilet also on Saturday half of the building power twice the TV and the air conditioner was not working on Sunday was my check out day the. This was one of the cleanest hotels that i’ve been into in the past two weeks! Well lighted, food was presented with awesome presentation! The hostess Ms. Kelli was awesome! I know that i’ll be coming back on my returns!

The room was nice but are pillows smelled like rotting shrimp juice and it was so unbearable and disgusting that we took the pillows down to the front desk and the lady smelled them and she also agreed that they smell bad she gave us 3 clean pillows and they all smell disgusting as well which made our room smell disgusting it was just nasty also the shower in the bathroom none of the shampoo conditioner and body wash was filled they were all 3 empty bottles.

There was a pint of ice cream in the refrigerator when we looked inside of it.
The telephone did not work.
There was no hand soap in the bathroom.
The television remote did not work. Switched remote three times before we could find one that would work.
We were on the third floor, if we wanted ice, we had to go to the second or fourth floor to get ice.
The elevators and elevator doors needed cleaning.
The stairways were dirty.
The floors in front of the elevators were dirty, it looked as though they needed to be mopped.
The staff was very polite and and the one receptionist was helpful in finding a remote for the television that would work.

You know, if it was not for the customer service I would had this a 1.

The place is ruin down and is not that wonderful. I had 5 rooms and on one of them the door would not work when my team got back at 1 am. So they put them in another room till 6 am.

The graveyard shift lady was a jerk and has poor communication.
But the manager took my phone call at 2 am and then took care of everything! The other lady that was amazing was Trinity! She works the swing shift 100% she made up for the lack of the place being updated. Again, needs a lot of work but the staff cares and you can tell it starts with the management!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very friendly welcome. The service was good. Our rooms were clean and fresh. The were a variety of breakfast items.

If I could give this holiday inn zero stars it wouldn't be enough to examine this stay. Our room was dirty when arriving. Food crumbs everywhere. Bathroom with no soap. The smell walking in was of mildew. Remote to the tv was sticky and wasn't working good. Alot in thr room was not working. The vibe of the staff that worked there was "I don't care" looks and just not interested in making the customers happy. Had workers on the side of the building painting or something and they were playing music pretty loud. Free breakfast was the only thing worth something and even then took forever to bring out food when they ran out. Will never ever recommend or Stay again.

They are doing a lot of renovation which is nice. The housekeepers actually use cleaning products that clean and you can smell the clean so that is nice. The bed is comfortable and the new decor is nice. However, the reason they get 3 not 5 stars is because they still smell like mold in the rooms and halls. All the money the owner is spending on repair and reno is not going to help keep the hotel full or raise the prices if they dont change out the window units to new ones. Those have to be cleaned from the outside, taken apart fully, and cleaned right to get the mold out from the core where it is growing and causing the rooms to smell like mold. Mold is toxic and very dangerous. That is the FIRST thing I would have done is replace them all with new ones. It isn't cheap but you cant put a price on clean air and people's health. People would much rather have a clean hotel with fresh air then a fancy looking one where they get sick from the mold in the air. The owner wont increase their income much if they keep those old moldy units. I could have gone to the new Fairfield a few miles down and had clean air instead of here. But I gave them a try and only saved $3 so now I know I wont ever book here again, and I stay at a lot of hotels, because I am allergic to mold. I had a very important dr visit at MD Anderson that I waited months to get and was congested going in. That is not good. So if the owner reads these, people's safety and their health should be the priority not the look and Im sure you can get a tax break and some other break for air quality in the hotel so it's not that expensive. I too am in management and renovating and I would always ensure the air quality over the look. If they fixed that then I would say this hotel could be 5 stars.

Do not stay here, nice staff but the room was dirty on check in. They said they would clean it, but they didn't. The shower was dirty with black mold and the shower doors looked like they had not been cleaned in some time, fingermarks and old scum on the doors. The rooms were in disrepair (i.e. Shelving was ready to fall off the wall). The tv didn't work, the batteries in the tv remotes were dead, the thermostats were inoperable. The carpets were very dirty with stains of various ages still in them. The air conditioning did not work adequately, as the rooms were extremely humid. Very disappointed. I will NEVER stay in this holiday inn express ever again.

The staff was rude, blamed my 7 month old son for the lights not working saying he unplugged it, I asked a staff member to refill the pancake batter for my mom when the machine was out. The staff member proceeds to yell "sir sir the pancakes are ready" all the way across the room in front of everyone didn't know pancakes were that serious.

We got stuck without a hotel after some things on our trip went sideways. Despite every hotel in the area being booked, including this one, Trinity the front desk associate let us know they have one room set aside as an "emergency" option for walk ins. Despite calling in, she set us up with this room, and after 8 hours on the road and plenty of drama we were so thankful to be safe sound and in this comfy bed!

It's definitely not the Ritz or anything, but there was a sparse and edible breakfast, clean and comfy bedding, and the room itself was HUGE compared to rooms at comparably priced hotels and included a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker.

Not sure when the heck I'll be back in Texas City TX (being from Boston MA) but if I am I'll make a point to stay here, and to tip Trinity! (I didn't have any cash at check in and she was gone by 11pm when the shift changed)

Just stayed for one day this past week.overall was okay as an IHG member
Pool was cloudy and not kept up the same trash was there on the tables from the day before during hours of operation next day, maintenance M. I. A. The lady at the front desk "Candis" was very dry and bothered took a while to come to the front desk at check in.microwave in the room made loud unusual noises.no lotion or hand soap in the bathroom gladcwe bought ours from home.positive take aways very comfortable beds and pillows and great location from restaurants.
PSA the hotel is under renovation on the right-side of the outer building
