Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wylie West, an IHG Hotel

We liked the place. Clean rooms. Front desk lady "Sweetie" was exceptional. Very helpful, cooperative, and prompt. Pretty good breakfast. Plenty of parking. Near highway but still a quiet place. Easy access to stores, shops, groceries. Stayed few times. Will stay again.

12/23/2023. I booked three suites for me, my daughter and her friends. Celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday with her classmates. I booked rooms 306,310 and 312. When I initially checked in the see the rooms b4 the guest and and my daughter arrives I noticed room 312 has some bad smell I told one of the cleaners who spread the room with air refresher the smell was a bit okay to manage. Later in the day the smell increases and my Niece told me room 312 smells so bad I went down to the fronk desk and make the complains he and asked for air refresher the fronk desk lady Sabrina who so rude and to me to get air fresher from the near by store and the hotel do not have air refresher my niece have to go to her care and bring her car airfresher. Pls do not lodge in this Hotel very bad experience. I will not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

When we arrived I had to fill out a credit card authorization form that the clerk e mailed me. Even though I had prepaid. It was alot. Took awhile. Then my daughter's room wasn't clean so she had to wait for them to clean it. The cleaning staff were very apologetic but the manager wasn't. Then later that night my daughter discovered that the TV didn't work. She tried to call the front desk but the phone didn't work either. Very disappointed. For now on I'll stay at the holiday Inn elsewhere.

Very disappointed. The room didn’t look clean, there was smashed food and gum in the carpet everywhere in the room. Stains everywhere. The lights flickered. The lamps had torn lamp shades. Hair in the shower. Visible liquid spills on the walls. The elevator doesn’t let you out on the third floor. The stairwell has trash and crumbs on the floor; appears it hasn’t been vacuumed in weeks. Breakfast was served at 7 and not 6. I didn’t have an ironing board in my room, and when I called the front desk the lady told me to call back at 7am so she didn’t have to deal with me. Great location, but very poor service and poor cleanliness. Stay at the La Quinta nextdoor!

Terrible experience. Filthy hallways, room service forgot to give us toilet paper and new towels. Our sheets were stained YELLOW and had holes ALL over. I have a rash probably from that dirty place! DO NOT go here. Looking at review they only reply to positive ones too. Front desk didn’t offer any compensation after I told her how disgusting the room was. Stains everywhere, the same dead bugs covering the hallway floors. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone and should’ve stayed at la Quinta for the same conditions but cheaper nights.

Hotel in horrible condition. Only one elevator working, empty light sockets in room, floor filthy in room, whole floor and room smelled like a locker room, ice machines on 3rd and 4 th floor not working. Plus dude, staff friendly, breakfast buffet good and complimentary bottled water whenever you needed it.

We booked a night at the hotel while we were having plumbing work done at our nearby home. Our situation is unique as I work overnights in a Childrens hospital ER. So my husband slept there overnight and I came and planned to sleep part of the morning. At check in we explained this and asked for a late check out. We started our check in with a female employee and finished it with a male employee. He told us we could have a late checkout time of 1 pm, which worked well for me. When I got in at 8 am, I placed the do not disturb sign and locked both locks. Imagine my surprise when housekeeping knocked on the door at 1115 and tried to enter the room. Followed shortly by a phone call from the front desk telling me I had to check out. I told the woman (the same one that did part one of our check-in) that we were given a 1 pm late check out because I worked nights and was sleeping. She told me that was not true because she had checked me in. I explained that while she started the process, a male employee had finished it. She was extremely rude telling me I had to check out by noon or pay for an extra day. She accused me of lying (which she later denied). I told her I would check out by noon and planned to write a bad review, to which she replied “that’s blackmail and I am going to write a bad review about you. ” I hung up the phone and called my husband, who made his way back to the hotel. While I was getting packed up, the woman called me back and said she was sorry because the man who checked us in confirmed he had told us 1 pm checkout and that I could stay. I informed her my husband was on his way and I was packing up. As the purpose of our late checkout was to allow me to sleep after my 12 night shift, that was now no longer possible. When I joined my angry husband downstairs, the woman was showing him a book there they write late check outs and it was blank. She denied calling me a liar and being rude on the phone to me. When I told her housekeeping tried to come in my room, she initially said “no she didn’t” and later changed her story line to “she was just doing her job. ” The employees failed to communicate with each other regarding a guest request for late check out, the women accused me of lying several times (check out time, that she called me a liar in the phone, and that housekeeping had not tried to enter my room), and accused me of blackmail because I planned to write a bad review and threatened to write a bad review about me! While the room was fine, the hallway was filthy including stains and what looked like a trail of cookies leading from elevator down the hall. As you can tell, my biggest complaint was the front desk staff being incompetent, rude and disrespectful to me as a customer.

Super helpful staff. Loved the rooms. And excellent breakfast. I loved how they treated my family as their family.

The staff were all very friendly and the bed was comfortable. However, there were so many other things wrong with the facility.that I have to rate it poorly. The hallways were dirty and un-airconditioned. Our room was missing a light bulb, hand soap, a blow dryer, and the toilet paper roll holder. Worst of all, the A/C which ran fine, leaked water! Our floor was sopping wet and there was mold growing on the wall beside the A/C. This hotel needs lots of maintenance but the people are all very nice and the location was quiet, off the main highways.

The hallways were experiencing AC problems.
The room experienced 1-3 times a day no electricity for a few minutes.
The majority of guest made up the difference by being a family style, family reunion, or gathering for the Ethiopian Sports Federation North America at Wiley Stadium a 7 day event of soccer and vendors all day.

The staff here is super friendly and helpful. However, the facilities could use some work. Lots of stains on the carpet, the toilet paper holder in our room had fallen off the wall, the window in the hallway was broken and covered in what looked like cardboard, the AC leaked, etc. The breakfast selection also wasn't as good as other Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed at.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. Overall we found this hotel well managed and with great service. Staff was always courteous, welcoming and available to help. Unlike many other hotels, room service is available daily (upon request). If you need additional sheets or pillows, you always get it within a few minutes.
Of worth special mention is the free breakfast. We’ve been to many IHG hotels and we found this one to be one of the BEST. Hats off to Alwyn who oversees the breakfast area. He makes sure he greets every family, every day with a big smile. He quickly refills any item that has run out. There is a good variety of items to choose from including eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausage, bagels, cinnamon rolls, cereals and yogurt. There’s also a nice pancake making machine that you can get fluffy fresh pancakes with the press of a button.
One of the elevators was not functional so sometimes it takes a bit for elevator rides.
Bathrooms and beds were clean and well maintained.
We had a great time here. Sam, the general manager/owner, is usually on site and is available to help anytime.

Best hotel rooms in All of Wylie, breakfast from 7 a.m. To 10 a.m. All around wonderful experience for the whole family

Great staff.
Room needed a few updates, curtains didn't open. Bed was Creeky but comfortable. No hooks or shelves in huge bathroom

Had a great experience with the staff. Very accommodating. Super nice and always made sure i had everything i needed. Will definitely stay again
