The customer service was very nice! There washer and dryer is free. They had a simple breakfast. The room we had was a modern look. The issues I had was cleanliness of the room. There were dirty dishes in the cabinet. The floor was sticky. The window shade was broken and wouldn’t roll up. The location was nice, close to Corpus Christi.

This was one of the worst home2s we have stayed in. Not very clean. The outlet in the bathroom didn’t work, the gym was smelly, dirty and disorderly, the side entrances didn’t work ect.seems it might be time for an upgrade!

This was not the best visit to a Home2 Suites. I've had better, esp in Houston. The staff at this Portland location tried, but the room experience was awful. Our key card wouldn't work, our toilet was clogged the entire time and the rooms were not cleaned to a decent standard. The room also smelled of slight mold/moisture. The pool experience was awesome and their breakfast was amazing. I really wanted to have a better room experience though. Again, the staff did as much as they could, so I do appreciate that.

MOLD! Our rooms were covered in mold. We had to leave after only being in the rooms for 5 minutes because of the smell. The floors, beds, towels were all wet and there was mold on the walls, lamps, etc. I feel for the staff who work here because of the amount of mold. Extremely unhealthy and dangerous. Thankfully we were not charged for the rooms.

We stayed here for over a month in Feb. Of this year and again for 5 nights this week. We love the Portland TX Home 2 our rooms were clean when we checked in I never get housekeeping whenever we stay somewhere I prefer to clean our own mess up. The staff is AMAZING The front desk workers are awesome Kimmy, Ken, Austin and Dustin huge shout outs for being great with their customers and always being cheerful and accommodating I have a very active 8 year old and they are so patient with him and my 10 year old daughter we will stop by just to say hi sometimes. (we live in the area close by)

The hotel needs maintenance. For a hotel that is not that old that has smelly mildew rooms just shows a big lack of maintenance? Which falls on the engineering department.

As far as Home2's go this is the worst.

The whole hotel smells like the penguin exhibit at the zoo. Mold and mildew smell and spores everywhere from the moisture.

Either they undersized the cooling systems in the rooms and they are unable to condense the moisture out of the air, or they messed up the building's moisture barrier during install. Big fail from Hilton.

Entire building wreaks of mold so strong. Rooms are not cleaned properly including bedding which doesn’t get changed or washed. Sinks let out a stench of rotten spoiled food strong enough you know it just walking near. We were moved from one room to another because our first one lost all power late at night. Staff wouldn’t acknowledge the cleanliness issues at all. The pool was slimey feeling in August! Just overall terrible in terms of cleanliness and health risks among many more concerns. You get the idea. Luckily no insects or rodents at least!

This was almost as bad as the one with roaches (down the road). Hallways stinks like mildew, trash left right as you get off the elevators, room was so hot it stunk, no toilet paper, no shampoo nor body wash, 730 no breakfast. Juice is nasty. Nothing but a horrible experience

First room digital key didn’t work—that’s a Hilton app problem. My husband then went to desk to key hard keys and they didn’t work either so we were moved to a different room, 318. As soon as we open the door we were hit with a very bad smell-musty, rotten, gross. Stepping across the door onto the tile floor I started slipping. I changed shoes and was still slipping-the floor was oily or greasy. Took off our shoes and the carpet was wet. That explains the smell-wet carpet. The bed was uncomfortable but some just are. Took a shower and I slipped twice-the second time if I hadn’t grabbed the bar I would’ve fell to shower floor. The shower floor was completely slippery too so I’m guessing they used same product to clean floors and showers and it wasn’t rinsed? The cloth sofa was very dirty—if they cleaned the carpets why didn’t they clean the sofa? Room overall just felt dirty. It was late, we just returned from a wedding and long day and didn’t have energy to change rooms. My husband travels for work, is in hotel almost every week and is a Hilton Honors member and only stays in Hiltons. He says he never has good experiences in Home 2 Suites. There was a Hampton Inn close by and we should’ve stayed there. I recommend you do too.

Condensation left moisture in the room. The room (especially hard surfaces) were damp and it smelled of moisture. Items (lamps, etc.) were rusted due to moisture issues. Breakfast was subpar even for continental breakfast. Breakfast area was not kept clean and trash was overflowing.

First off, the gentleman working the front was great. That was the only good thing.

I thought I booked a King. When I got to the room, it was a queen room. I was there with my wife. I checked the app and it did show me in queen room so I thought my mistake. I asked about switching to a king room and the lady at the front said they didn't have any available. Even though the app showed that they did.

The room had a strange smell. Almost like a mildew/chlorine smell. No water pressure in bathroom sink. Had to brush my teeth in the kitchen. Very run down hotel. Needs a lot work. Front automatic door doesn't work. Has a sign that says Slide to open and close.

After I checked out, I noticed that my confirmation email actually had me in a King room. I reached out to our Business Travel Center. They contacted the hotel about the mix up. The hotel said that they were sold out of King rooms and they switched me to an equivalent room. They did not notify me of the change. Nor did they tell me about it when I got there.

I spoke to a co-worker about the issues that I had. He told me that he put a worker in that hotel a few months back and he had nothing but complaints. Now when sends people to the Portland area, he puts them in the Holiday Inn Express next door. I would suggest that you do the same. I definitely will be next time.

Update: A couple of days after posting this review, hotel asked me to contact them so they can investigate further. Funny since they made no attempt to do anything before. Looks like the standard response from the "owner". I'll pass.

Stayed here for a couple of days and was mostly a pleasant experience. A couple of little quirks: had trouble with our room key twice in one day: once with our room door but the battery needed to be replaced, and then later the same day with the outside door. Room when we arrived smelled foul, but came to find out the garbage disposal had crab legs in it, but why wasn't that noticed when it was cleaned? Breakfast sandwiches were microwaved and my fiancee's sandwich was still cold in the middle when she bit into it. Also on the last day, we requested and were approved for a late check out at 12: 30, but at 11am, housekeeping tried to come into our room to clean it: no knock, no announcement, just used their key and attempted to open the door, but it was blocked by the door stop. The hotel manager proactively profusely apologized when we told him the room number as we were checking out and stated he had dropped the ball by not passing along the message from his email to the housekeeping staff. Other than the aforementioned stench, the room was comfortable and spacious. Our service dogs enjoyed the experience too. First world problems, yes, but the staff was very nice and made us feel welcomed overall.

Fairly dirty hotel.pool was unusable due to algae and cloudiness.we've stayed in worse, but definitely not Hilton worthy.

Good service but the rooms and gym smell like the entire place was under water. My room was still dirty. No water or cleaning supplies the gym. Bar was never open. Breakfast is below avg.

Never stay at this hotel. Reception is bad. Breakfast is so horrible. Bathroom doors are broken and no lock, beds are not at all comfortable. Found roaches in the couch and bedding.

Definitely do not recommend staying here unless you want a musky smell lingering in your room, mold on your ceiling, doors and corners of the room, room not serviced, trash not taken out (you’ll have to take your own out), lights in bathroom out (you can call the front and they will say they will take care of it and you’ll go 5 days without it being done, you will even checkout and it still won’t be done) beds not made, front hotel doors are broken there’s a sign posted to slide it to open and close it, the ac will have rotten wood/mold on the bottom corner and they will say the previous guest had a dog who chewed that area up and they didn’t catch it because there was a pile of towels sitting there (yeah right), you will be given the room with little to not toilet paper on the roll and when you call to ask they say they will bring it right up (might as well buy your own), let’s just say pay the extra $$ and stay else where. I wish I would of read all the reviews before booking here, after reading them it’s pretty clear they won’t do anything about it but say call us and speak with us about it as they have Copied and pasted to every review the same response. DO NOT BOOK HERE!
