We used to bring our daughters here when they were in their early teens, but have not been for over 20 years. This year's was like coming home, still the same low key friendly folks, great demonstration, lots of great food, etc!

My family loves coming to the fair, and we were going to come this year but it's just no fun when it's raining, it looked like it was gonna be no rain and nice but now it's gonna pour Friday and Saturday! I think it's not the best time of the year to have it, it has more chances of raining than not it seems! Well hopefully it will be nice next year! Thanks for all y'all do! And really wish it wasn't raining!

First year attending and absolutely loved it. Planning on attending again next year and for two days as one just wasn't enough.

This is a really neat place! Lots to see from blacksmithing to basket weaving. We enjoyed browsing in the general store. The working gristmill was also really neat! I wish we would have had more time to do some of the “make your own” projects, it we were able to purchase a knitting kit and basket weaving kit to take home. There is lots of walking or you can drive a little closer to each building. It was not very stroller-friendly in some areas so probably best to just wear/carry littles.

What a great find here in Waco. Rented a Container Home on Airbnb and what a great surprise to have all of this just down the road.

Sorghum Festival was amazing! This is a hidden gem worth the stop.you could spend half a day or a whole day exploring, learning about different trades such as blacksmithing, wood working, pottery, weaving, and farming. We've been here many times to visit, learn, and just enjoy what they are offering. The Craftsmanship is amazing, and I love that they teach and continue to pass on the trades. The talent here is unmatched.

We went for a day trip with the kids. It was very cool to see all of the handmade items. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed watching the machines work. The coffee was delightful. The smell of the beans roasting was heavenly.

I will admit I live very close to Homestead Heritage and have the opportunity to visit frequently. Yet, evey visit brings me back in time and reminds me to slow down and take pride in whatever I do. Within each building you go into whether it is the community grocer or quilting store as you first arrive, or the Brazos cheese store (with outrageously divine organic cheeses), down to the barn, and all the other buildings on the homestead you will see nothing but handmade, high quality items. The prices may seem absurdly high to someone who is use to shopping at big box stores where everything is mass produced and shipped, BUT you will NOT find that here. The prices that are high here reflect the actual time it took one person to work on that item, plus the cost of the materials, plus their education/knowledge of how to make that item. Some people from the homestead have lived here their entire lives and you can see they love what they do by their craftmanship. When you purchase anything from here it will NOT fall apart in a day or two, it could last you your entire life (it all depends on the item and how you wear and tear an item through everyday usage). Every animal product here is organic, grassfed so for example if you want to purchase some ground beef, if you are lucky enough you may actually see the butcher carving a hanging cow and have literal fresh ground meat from farm to hand. It cost no more than going to the store and paying for bison and yet this meat has no nasty smell when you remove it from the package. It is nice and red because it hasnt been sitting through the processing phasw, then shipping, then frozen, and thawed on the shelf just to get to you the consumer. If you need quality baked bread or olive oils with flavors, or local honey it is all available here on the homestead. Kitchen towels, woven blankets woven on the looms that will last forever and are not just beautiful but so soft you will never want to put it away. Homestead heritage is also a place to take classes such as sewing, wood working, pottery, iron working and even more. Homestead Heritage has so much to offer and you are not required to be a member to the homestead. Also, if you can block off your Thanksgiving one year and enjoy your Thanksgivinf day festivities at Homestead Heritage where you can do crafts, projects, eat sorghum until your hearts content, make coasters or a towel, creat a key ring, all kinds of things for the kids to do, basket weaving. There is tons of food, horse carriage rides, and shopping. You cannot go wrong bringing your family here for a day trip or a couple of day trips. Right next door there is a tiny rental home village for people to rent outside of the hustle and bustle of Waco, TX. (I am not affliated with anyone, I just love this area as a local.)

This place is awesome! First, each building is free to enter and enjoy! So it is great on your wallet. Only money you will spend is if your eat at the restaurant, Cafe Homestead. Or want to buy a souvenir, or one of the many products they make. Next, there is a lot to see, so you can make it a day adventure. Enjoy the walk and all they have to offer. It was a great day for my wife and I. Highly recommended!

I went here with my two best friends, we had a BLAST. Loved the entire complex. We went to all the shops. The products are legit, as far as a young adult can tell. They make their own stuff in small batches and are very willing to talk to you about it. Furniture is really great from what I can tell but it will definitely cost you. The food is excellent, especially the cheese. I'm lactose intolerant and ate a metric F ton of their low pasteurized milk, cheese, and ice cream. I'm talking more than I've ever consumed in a day. I should have been totaled at that point, but alas - not one single complication. All their dairy products were fantastic and I'd do it again Some woman in the cheese shop was so nice to me, warms my heart. Omg, there was this one super nice man in the cheese shop who explained literally everything to us: aquaponics, cheese aging, the inn that traveled from New York to Waco.just the nicest guy (Jason). 10/10 STRONGLY recommend

What an amazing place to visit, learn and create! We got to make a pinch pot, a spoon and wooden craft. The restaurant was amazing. The food is grown fresh on the property. The shops had so many creative and practical items to choose from. A warm loving atmosphere. Many herbs and herbal health options. A must visit!

First visit to Homestead Heritage a couple of weeks ago, and it was a great find. They offer classes for woodworking, pottery, and many other crafts including learning from a blacksmith. It’s a very interesting place to learn about history and getting back to sustainability.

What a cool place to visit! We found this by accident when I was searching for a quilt shop. We really enjoyed talking to the people working here. We love the history and the simpler way of life. The hand crafted items are amazing.

The only down side: much as we love the hand craft items they seem to be a bit overpriced for the average person. (I am a crafter so we understand and appreciate the work that goes into these kinds of items).

We will definitely come back if we're in the area again.

I highly recommend visiting! Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful (shoutout to Claire who was so kind and answered all of our questions!), and the food at the café was fantastic. I also really enjoyed the cheese shop and all of the beautiful woodwork like the fireplace mantels. This is a must see location in Waco!

Great place to eat. The food is really fresh. The service is also top-notch. We made reservations before going, so I recommend doing that.
