Hong Kong Food Market reviews
33I've been to this store with my family for decades. They have all kinds of asian food here, utensils, snacks, and other items. Veggies, fruits, drinks are good here. 4 stars because they semi lack cleanliness and it can be pricey.
This is a cheaper Asian market, a little run down, and smaller than the one on Bellaire. That said they still had plenty of items I wanted, it was worth the visit.
My go to place when I need Jack fruit and sweet tamarind
The sandwich shop makes the best Ban Mi’s and they’re super affordable!
Selection is lacking but what's there is well organized. It's normal to experience pungent smells at asian markets but the have items in the front that just slaps the olfactory senses the moment you step inside. People were nice enough.
It has been over one year since I have been in this Hong Kong Market. I was amazed with the new coolers. Also the gamey smell that prevailed throughout the store before was strangely absent. This is a very welcome absence.
It's easy to get in and out. I honestly wish the had more kimichi verities, but I love the place anyways ️
Meat department has strong stinch needs cleaning. Cashiers up front are rude, not friendly at all. I only shop there because my kids want Asian food.
I always come here for a quick snack when I’m in the area. Delicious amazing Vietnamese sandwich (Banh Mi) for $2.00-$3.50 depending on which type.
Well maintained, friendly cashiers (except pharmacy manager; I once stopped by to pick up some medicine for my mother and asked him about where I can find it, he showed me and repeatedly said the price and told me I had to pay for that, like what? He went far as going to the cashiers and telling them I was supposed to pay for that and told the security guard too like I was going to steal it or something) Very shocking and rude.
Also speaking of security guard, I have known him since I was little shopping here. Very friendly and kind man, he’s always on duty when the place is open.
The only con about this place is that there’s a smell (not a bad one) but there’s a smell whenever you enter.
The ramen section is pretty awesome, I’ve seen worst and I’ve seen better.
Also I wouldn’t recommend buying the packaged meat/fish, they look freezer burned, I prefer the fresh fish/meat that you make them cut it for you.
I love all the ramen noodle selection just wish it didn't smell like a sewer as soon as you walked in.
Great variety! The Medicinal Dept offers a wide variety of pain patches that are actually worth the money. They have a very high heat level and are about half the price as Ben-gay or Aspercreme patches. Great seafood and produce
depts. Fun to browse and try new things!
Feels like the cashier lady is moving in slow motion. I have never seen someone so relaxed at work. Just picture the DMV scene in the movie Zootopia. In the end was told the system was down, cash only.
There are not as clean as I will like they to be but I can find most of the Asian ingredients that I will need for my recipes.
I love shopping here. I always get my seafood here and they have many different types of produce that you can't get at other store's.
I love to go to the Hong Kong market it is pretty awesome I get to find all these really cool unique candies ice creams Etc that I get to try. I really highly recommend for anybody to try the food here it is pretty amazing. Not going to lie I don't like the smell of the place when I go in but other than that everything is great
Just looking for a"steamer". Found three: all stainless steel, priced from: 23.99$ (didn't find it) to 61.99$, too big for "her" to use. Best buy is 35.99$, plenty big (28-31 cm? /mm?), steamer enclosed, stainless so no rust.
Wa clean but not a lot to choice on veggies and other items. I will stick going to the one off of veteran Memorial Boulevard
Wanted to buy fish, claim to be closed at 9: 00pm, reached 8 min before 9: 00, they wont served us no fish.claimed they were close.we told them its at least 7min left before 9: 00pm.had to report to management.after a few rattling we got served.
This supermarket is easy to find from street, price a little bit higher than other stores, store don't look clean and some time smell along a sea food section. Hopefully this might help you some.
Hong kong food market, the market with a scent not for the weak. Hong kong always has a smell or fish no matter what time or day you go. That is really the only con about this supermarket, it does and has what a supermarket is supposed to do and have
