Update: I received a call from the owner apologizing sincerely for the mix-up and offering to let me keep both teal kayaks and also send me the purple one when they get it in next week at no extra charge. I’m more than satisfied with this resolution. I still feel like I should dock a star because of the initial complete lack of communication for a long period of time, but the fact that they went above and beyond to fix it makes them alright in my book.

Original review: After over a month waiting for my order to ship, I sent 3 emails and left a voicemail (they do not answer the phone) asking for an update on the order status. Nothing happened until we threaten to dispute with the credit card company. Then they shipped 2 teal kayaks, when we ordered one teal and one PURPLE, without ever responding to the calls or emails or asking about an exchange or color preference. Zero communication. I am so angry and I strongly recommend against doing business with Hoodoo Sports.

Paid 250 in shipping for an in stock item, customer service says that it is in stock but it is still taking forever to even start to ship out.

We had some communication issues with this company, but the owner ended up contacting us and making things right. The inventory and quality of the products is outstanding, but they could work on better communication with customers.

I can't give any ratings yet as my concern is just now being voiced. I recently bought a Tempest 140p and had a cluster eff of a time getting all of it together.aka don't chat while people are working so they don't forget pieces needed. ><

Customer service was super prompt and I was able to get the remainder of the kayak (seats/pedal drives) shortly after. As I live near their brick and motar store, I swung in without issue.

Fast forward a few weeks when it's finally warm enough, 3/25/23, I load the boat on the trailer and head to Lake Woodlands. Now I know wind can be a pain in the back side, but for the life of me the steering would go slightly right and hard right NOW. After checking the orientation of the rudder and steer mech, I see it's lined up and turns when asked but it seems like when friction/water is introduced the kayak will not turn left.

I thought it was possibly the rudder itself so I removed it and just pedaled a bit to see how it tracks.slight right still. I take the boat out of the water and inspect the underside. Everything looks visibly in check. So why in the heck can't I get the unit to turn left with onboard steering? I was holding my paddle behind like a venician love canoer steering.

My experience because of this last bit has put a bitter taste in my mouth. I love the quaility of the build minus the steering. I love the quaility of the customer service I've thus far obtained. I love the interactions I've already had with the guys at the shop and part of the obtaining items was my failure as I was distracting with conversation.

Had a handful of small things happen but these guys got me squared away. I was able to pick our 140 p tandem locally in Houston.

I will be picking up a pair of sups soon as we get settled in the 5th wheel. Glad to be apart of the hoodoo club!

I had to write a review and let everyone know that Hoodoo Sports has been amazing in my experience! We live in SW Florida and were devastated by Hurricane Ian - our only way in and out to our house was by boat…before the hurricane we had already ordered a couple of Hero 130’s - and their shipping was delayed because of all of the damaged roads in the area. We desperately needed them in order to get in and out and start our rebuild before bridges were accessible - and the owner (Chris) was very gracious with shipping and re-shipping our items when they would get returned, changing shipping addresses to a non-affected area, etc. Since receiving the Hero 130’s, we’ve really put them through their paces and use them at least twice a day - fishing, transportation, sunrises, sunsets, etc. - and they have been extremely reliable and great versatile machines. We can’t say enough to thank Hoodoo for helping us out so much and to compliment the quality of their mini skiffs - what a blast on the water and what a way to reel in the big fish!

10/10 customer service is very friendly, helpful and do their jobs very well. They stand by their warranty and I will be recommending them in the future.

Oct 2022, I Ordered a Tempest 120p. Was told it would be 4-6 weeks to ship. I had the kayak in about 10 days. The box coming off the truck looked like hell, but the product inside was wrapped fully and carefully. I got a beautiful boat. In the unpacking and set up, I noticed, I did not have the rod holders I ordered. I called HooDoo and the call was picked up immediately, by a very friendly and knowledgeable young lady. She checked into the matter for me and I had my rod holders in four days. So far HooDoo has delivered on everything I expected. I love the boat, its very well designed and quite eye catching. I get lots of comments from anyone who sees it. Thanks for the kayak and the wonderful customer service.

Great customer service and very personal. Customer service just called to make sure I didn’t want to switch colors to get my kayak faster. When I ordered it I saw it was out of stock but it’s winter here so… But From my experience, this never happens with busy companies. Kudos to Hoodoo! I can’t say enough about this company! They have the absolute best customer service I’ve ever dealt with and will forever be a customer to them! First my chair was missing a hold down piece, I sent them a picture of it via email, and next thing I know it was in the mail! Just recently my steering rope was wrapped around the handle, again I sent a picture, and Adam called me personally and talked me thru the fix over the phone! Y’all are the best and I will tell everyone about you guys!

I purchased the 13.5 impulse it’s a great
kayak. The customer service is top notch. If you’re Millitary or work for the federal government you can receive a discount through Gov X too.

Customer service is top rate products are impressive and eye catchers small crowds when I launch and recover.

I’ve been paddling a Hoodoo Impulse 135 for close to a year now and am very happy with it. This isn’t my first kayak, in fact I’ve owned two Hobie Outback’s, Viking Profish Reload, Tarpon 140 & 160, Preception Pescador and a L2Fish. I use my kayaks primarily for fishing…specifically targeting redfish inshore at the marsh. I can stand up and paddle, cover miles efficiently with the peddle drive system and still have enough room for all my essential gear. The kayak comes with everything you need to get started. My only adds were an anchor trolly system, stakeout pole and an upgraded rudder.

The good: Top Notch Customer Service, PRICE, Three position seat height, Multiple built in storage areas, easy access into the hull, strong lifting handles, sleek design for cutting through the water

The bad: doesn’t turn on a dime but is fine when underway

I wouldn’t hesitate getting into one if your torn between a couple yaks.

I bought 2 Hoodoo Impulse 105 Fin Drive Kayaks on 19 April, 2022 from Silent Sports Outfitters in Nokomis, FL. I spoke with Tony on 20 April, 2022 to let him know we did not get side handles for one and the fin drives are popping out when we use them. He advised me that he was texting his cousin at Hoodoo in TX and would get the side handles and latches sent out. I followed up last week, early May, and was told that everything was being handled. Here we are, 3 weeks later, and we still cannot use the kayaks we paid almost $3000 for other than to paddle them. No one at Hoodoo answers the phone. BBB is the next call on my list.

I was having a shipping problem here in Oregon.
I was unable to get into contact with anyone other then Holly.
This has since been addressed.
Both Chris and Jarred have turned my opinion around.
I did have some shipping damage and a replacement was shipped the next day.
I've also been in contact with Jarred in regards to questions I have about both boats.
His answers are swift and helpful. These kayaks are beyond my expectations and Chris, Jarred, and Holly have all put in great effort to get me on the water.
It's ok to have problems, This company will help you get through them.
I will recommend Hoodoo Sports to my friends and family.

Couldn't be more happy with this company I own multiple products including coolers and the impulse 120p kayak and all the products perform wonderfully. The sales and service team is top notch and is there to answer any questions I have had.
