Hope Closet & Thrift Store reviews
15We enjoy Hope's closet. The people are nice and the prices on some things are fair. Some clothing are priced like high end boutique and it's a thrift store. It's for a good cause so it keeps us going there instead of others thrift stores.
I was going to buy an end table but I live in Tyler and had a few more stops in Longview. I asked them if they would hold it if I bought it. The weather was iffy. They would not. That is poor customer service.
Great store! U never know what you are going to find. Plus purchases support East Texas Women's Centers!
Pricey! Somehow this location seems more overpriced than the other Hope's Closet locations. I think it's because it's so heavily shopped that the good stuff gets snapped up, leaving the mediocre stuff with too high prices. Sometimes good things can be found, though. When I'm in the area I stop in, but I don't go out of my way. Most of the staff are nice, though I've encountered one or two who were unpleasant.
We had 2 identical toys the grandkids picked out still sealed in package. I did not notice till home that one was 30% more than other. Also asked the cashier to leave one formal child's dress on the hanger, but it was stuffed in sack. Store was nice and clean and orderly. Racks were loaded with short sleeve clothes in late November. Very few long sleeves.
I found the prices very high. Not much merchandise on the shelves. It was clean, think they are trying to be a department store not a thrift store
Hope's Closet is no longer a shop with lower prices. In the past so many wonderful things could be purchased at a great value. Everything is donated & should be more affordably.
Overpriced. Overpriced. Kids clothes 4.50 and up for a onesie!
This is a donation based thrift store. That means they sell FREE donated food to the public. And who generally shops at thrift stores? Lower and middle class. I will stick with Salvation Army who has a generalize pricing systems. Tops 4.50 shoes 4 dresses 6.
Need to come down on prices then people could spend more it's better to sell it than have them put it back on the shelf, I heard 2 different people talking about the prices I even put things back because of the price
They have Really done some Amazing Changes, All for the Better! This Particular Store is My Favorite one of All! It Smells Fantastic and is so very Neat, And the Staff is too Bad Either, if I might say so.judt kidding they are Great!
Hope closet is a good place to shop they got close house where anything that you need at Oak Crossing
Have recently fallen out of love with this store. Prices have become OUTRAGEOUS. You could literally drive across the street to Wal-Mart and buy it for 2 times less, and wouldn't have to deal with the rude manager.
Love shopping here. My mom and sister always want to go, too, when they're in town. Either location is great! The only reason I don't give five stars is that the men's selection is small and the prices on kids' clothes are high, but we love it for the women's clothes and household stuff. A fun hunt to find treasure ;)
Their prices are rediculous its like cheaper to go to ross or Burlington smh I mean I live in waskom made a trip to longview hope closet thinking I was going to find great low prices wow everything 5.99 and up and its supposed to be a cheap store who said that?
Used to be fantastic. Now they have made prices so high skippers were $25, boots for $199, shoes for $75.the problem I have with this is I have brought items several times to the shelter for the people, but everything was taken straight to the office to goto the resale store. A pie dish was marked up to 3.99. Two stores and many community regular donations to the shelter, I can't see why prices would be so high. The shelter has one large room everyone and all their belongings sleep in. One room to eat, watch TV, etc. I will support Gifts of Grace after today's visit to Hope's Closest. It is a shame these funds and items are not used for the people in the shelter. That is why people donate.
