Hotel Turkey reviews
18 Turkey, Tx is small and quaint! The hotel is amazing
Great food
Polite and respectful service
Rooms are clean with immensities and the bed was so comfortable
We will be back!
Hot in lobby. Inexperienced front desk help. Very steep stairs to 2nd floor. 90% of time there was no one at the desk so hike up and down stairs was a hassle. Room was nice and light, cool decor, air conditioning excellent. Lots of greenish, stink bugs traveling on curtains, Nats on ceiling and landing on us. Restaurant closed during evening. Turkey has an excellent Cafe called Tony's Ice Creme Shop, we ate there for meals.
Carly worked the front desk, waited tables, came to check our room. Hardest working person I've seen. All the staff was friendly. Definitely recommend.
So we’ve been twice and both visits have been positive. This last trip we came in for a birthday. Booked one of the containers which are done very stylish and country themed. Dinner was outside on the back patio with live music. Note: if you don’t want to sit in the sun early, reserve a table under the patio! Staff is friendly and helpful beyond measure.
Little out of the way but well worth the trip for a peaceful Texas music get away!
Friend of mine just drove around it showing me. I thought it was on the main drag but I was wrong. We made plans in the future to come back on a Saturday and enjoy a meal there.
We had a great experience, the place was buzzing, the music was great, our service was good and our steak and chicken fried steak s were delicious!
Such an amazing place! We came in from lake Charles LA to visit my grandparents and they took us here. Amazing service and the food was incredible! The owners kept asking everyone how it was going and they were so nice and informative of the place. I didn’t stay the night but they let me tour the entire place
Cute hotel, but needs some love. One electrical outlet is not acceptable! Needs more storage or tables for travelers items!
Perfect place to stay while hiking Cap Rock Canyons. Great location in a quaint little town.
Great rooms and service with a bar and restaurant to sit and chill.
Very nice stay at the Hotel Turkey. Old time hotel feel with nicely updated bathroom. Already planning on being back next year. Loved it!
Fun place to stay. Rooms are old, so expect things to be small and different. Food and music were fabulous downstairs at their restaurant.
Neat old hotel with potential. The room was cute, but needs a few things. Hangers in the wardrobe, a table to set your things and a soap dish for the tub. The coffee station was nice, but needed to be stocked. Our towels weren't changed. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The location is great, only a few miles from Caprock Canyon.
A very old and well-worn hotel reminiscent of the Limpia Hotel in Fort Davis TX. You almost imagine Anton Chigurh ("No Country for Old Men") to be walking along the dimly lit and VERY creaky old upstairs wood floor. The beds were comfortable, and thank goodness they had air conditioning, as our upstairs room was much warmer than the brisk March evening. Breakfast was great, with a good variety of delicious options to choose from. Hotel Turkey is a wonderful place to base day visits to Caprock Canyons from. We look forward to staying there again.
We always have the best time at Hotel Turkey, where the motto is borrowed from a Bob Wills song: Stay all night, stay a little longer. It's a little piece of paradise in the most unexpected place. The wine is great and the people are just outstanding. The staff makes you feel right at home. Always a party and feast going on as you move toward the weekends at Hotel Turkey!
My Wife Vanessa And I Had A Great Time At The Hotel Turkey Texas. It Was A Step Back In Time. We Had No Complaints And Would Definitely Go Back. We Enjoyed Our Visit With Albert And He Cooked Us A Great Breakfast
This hotel from 1927 is still authentic. The decor, especially on the first floor, is beautiful. On arrival in the afternoon there is no staff. We found the key in an envelope on the desk with a letter stating that it is an old hotel that squeaks and creaks and has its own smell. They are refurbishing the hotel step by step. We understand that, but there are a number of things that we believe could be improved. For example, there is no cover for the duvet? The tap of the bathroom sink has chalk which is easy to remove and the breakfast was very poor… Coffee is offered and toast with egg (and sausage and potatoes if you want). No fresh orange juice, no yoghurt, no fruit, no milk, no cereals. Once everything is served they leave you without asking if you want something else. At check out the staff was there but didn't bother to receive the key in person and say good bye and thank you for your stay, they stayed in the breakfast room talking with eachother. If you stay in Turkey make sure you have something to eat for the evening because there is nothing! In town… (we stayed in Turkey on a Tuesday night).
We paid $132 for one night which is way too expensive for the service and quality. As said, the hotel is beautiful but without renovation there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Wonderful one-night stay! Great hosts, comfortable accommodations, great food and service! There is little pretense in Turkey, Texas.which is a bonus!
We did not lodge here, as we were camping at the local state park. We visited for Sunday brunch. Could not have asked for a better experience. We got in at opening as they were bringing food out. Everything we ate was fresh, tasted great, and presentable. Can't wait to visit again. Only one small quirk and isn't much, would like more local items such as t-shirts and stickers, but that is super trivial and not to be taken as a negative.
