House of Coffee Beans reviews
16Went in with little knowledge of coffee beans. I was going in to find a gift for a coffee lover. The gentleman in the front was patience and gave me some understanding in the different origins and flavors. Loved my experience!
House of Coffee Beans is the best! Great selection of fresh coffees, very helpful and knowledgeable staff, pleasant atmosphere. I've been going here for over 20 years!
Fantastic coffee, and wonderful folks. I used to get my coffee beans here when I lived in Houston. I still get my espresso beans here (via their online store) and they ship to me. It's been 6 or so years since I have been in person and it was great to stop by again. Highly, highly, highly recommend their beans to everyone!
Bought two kinds of beans. They said it was roasted in a week… but when I made the pour over, there is no bloom on one, there’s tiny bit bloom on the other one… which mean the beans were not roasted within a week disappointed ️
Love this local small biz coffee shop. I have only been getting beans from here for a few months, but wow I am so happy to have found them. I used to buy beans in bulk from warehouse store, then found this gem. Shopping small and buying local is very important to me (a small biz owner myself). They have a vast selection of beans. Will grind them any size for you. They even roast them here in Houston! I am a new loyal and forever customer of this great coffee roaster.
Why would you get coffee anywhere else? The beans are AMAZING. They smell and taste delicious, are sold fresh, and grind perfectly.
The employees are so genuinely kind and helpful. They also provide great suggestions and make brewing coffee as easy as possible.
This is a Houston staple that deserves to stay around forever. It puts other coffee to shame.
Enforcing mask mandates in November of 2021. Spend your money elsewhere that isn't a running dog lackey for big pharma corporations!
First time there and they've secured another customer. Great service and answered beyond what I needed. I'll be back next week for another batch.
In short: would not recommend for personal shopping. There are others with similar concerns as mine, wish I had read the reviews.
Reason: Beans don't have roast-on date or batch number, so there is no way of tracking how old they are - you just have to believe them. The beans I bought tasted fine when I made espresso with it - but this lack of transparency can and will lead to inconsistencies in brew quality on my end and I am going to a roaster specifically to avoid that.
One of the best local roasters. Excellent flavored coffees, and a good selection of coffee and tea making supplies.
Great coffee and nice assortment of flavors to try. Their house espresso is great, and the White Russian flavored coffee is yummy.
Very nice staff, nice nostalgia type of store, large variety of coffee, beans or ground, very nice place to get your coffee!
I bought 4 different bags of unflavored whole coffee beans. All four types had very little taste, i'm guessing their quality control is nonexistent, either they were roasted awhile back or the quality wasn't there to begin with. Some places put a roast date on their bags.not here. My wife got a few bags of flavored beans that were good. I will search elsewhere for quality coffee beans.
My parents used to bring me and my sister here while running their weekend errands back when we were just tiny tots. Now that I’m living in Houston as an adult I’ve started doing my coffee shopping here and it is such a pleasant experience. They take the time to answer your questions and recommend the perfect beans for you out of plenty of roasts and flavors to choose from. Also have a good stock of coffee equipment (Chemex, grinders, mugs, etc). Definitely worth getting out of the coffee aisle at the grocery store to try out this place, you won’t regret the extra trip!
I live 45 minutes away and this coffee house is worth a routine drive for refills.
The coffee is amazing, owners are so delightful and the store displays quality products.
