Houston Garden Centers reviews
18I wouldn’t give this place a star but apparently it’s the only option. Worst customer service, most of the employees speak Spanish so with that being said they were of no help and assistance. The cashier who identified herself as Maria wasn’t helpful and had the worst attitude when asking for certain items because she had no clue. How are you running a business about gardening and no one working there has no clue or can’t speak English. Waste of time, horrible customer service and lack of organization. Do not go here if you expect any type of assistance. 4 ppl standing around but no one can help you with anything.horrible, piss poor business
Stopped at other nursery before here. 0$ purchased.get to HGC and drop 3 bills.lmao.
Great variety of healthy plants ;) been coming here for years! For a reason!
Not so good this time. I was told crate myrtles were going to be half off beginning 1 June, however that was not case.
Do not go here if you expect any type of assistance. I am having to leave this location to go to another.at least they answered the phone unlike this location. 4 ppl standing around but no one can answer if they have marigolds or not nor can they show me where they usually keep them.piss poor location
Great selection, very well taken care of plants but the workers were little to no help. They seemed disinterested in wandering around to help customers.
People were friendly. However, I bought 60 slabs of St. Augustine grass which didn't seem to be too fresh.and I assumed correctly because it basically died the next day. What a waste of money. Would never purchase plants or anything from this place again.
I bought Milkweed (asclepias) to feed monarch caterpillars. I rinsed the leaves before putting the caterpillars on the newly purchased plants. The caterpillars died oozing green liquid. Apparently the grower must use a systematic pesticide. If you're raising Monarchs, don't buy your plants here!
I love the Houston Garden Center but we live some distance away. Because of the time to get there, I tried to call the 3 closest centers and got a recording, no answer, no phone listed etc for 45 + minutes. This was very frustrating. I only needed a few short questions answered before we hooked up the trailer (we buy many plants/trees when we go) and traveled the distance. I guess customer service is not a priority and we will have to go to Lowe’s. I wonder what landscapers do when they need service.
I bought my first real Christmas tree (that was over priced) from this place, got it home and the tree literally fell over off the stand I paid extra for while my daughter watched in disbelief. It only takes a little extra time to make sure things are done properly. I hate that I gave the 2 guys a nice tip! They did a half a%# job mounting the tree to the stand. Now I have to go out and buy another stand for the tree otherwise it’ll be laying on the floor in my living area! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY PURCHASE FROM HOUSTON GARDEN CENTER!
I go here and they always have good deals. It's close by. HOWEVER, the plants really need some extra TLC. I know that it is hard to meet all of the needs of each individual plant but, i think the staff could try a little harder.
Other than that, i love coming here
Walked around to pick out a tree. Workers were helpful getting it cut, on a stand and loaded in the truck. Friendly folks.
They are always very kind and happy to help! Salvador was eager to give us a tour of the Christmas trees and gave us some great tips on the care for it.
I like the 70% sale but some of flowerpot that were cracked pr broken they dont want to sale with a little % off the half of price it's a wast.
I love buying their vegtable plants, mexican heather, and seasonals flowers. Have to limit my purchases, but great place to plan landscaping by which plants are available. Parking and getting to this location can be tricky with all the construction and congestion. Go during week if possible.
Good prices and variety but 90% of the staff was huddled at the cash register laughing and joking around. Payed no attention to the customers.
I was once homeless in the area and was it next door neighbor having set up a camp in the woods across fromthey were very friendly to me treating me like a ordinary citizen eye even so much as to allow me to get water from their hoses on a regular basis I had considered going to work for them yet I found a job doing something else I'm always grateful to the Houston garden center thank you
Large selection with great prices but the staff was less then helpful. We couldn’t get any recommendations for the location we wanted to place the plant in our home based on sunlight. They also just pointed to areas versuses showing us. Won’t be going back for advice but may go back for outdoor plants.
Friendly staff. Excellent variety of plants. You will want to plant your whole yard with them and eliminate mowing grass.
