Houston Lightscapes

My wife wanted 'Professional' outdoor lighting around our pool and our very tropical backyard for years. I had played with 'self installed' outdoor lighting and solar lights for years but they never held up to the elements and our yard mowing service. We shopped and received quotes from several Houston area installers. No one and I mean No One came close to listening to our ideas, presenting the 'spot on' solutions, answering all of our questions and then actually setting up an evening 'trial' showing us what the backyard will actually look like. We tweaked a few things and immediately concluded that Michael Ackerman and his team at Houston Lightscapes was who we wanted to install our outdoor lighting. Originally we were only going to go with lighting in the backyard. The additional cost to add lighting to our front yard and house was so reasonable the we included that in our installation. Houston Lightscapes delivered on every promise that was made. Their installation team was professional and courteous. They did not leave until we fully understood how the system and timer was set up. I would highly recommend Houston Lightscapes. After looking at other providers of outdoor lighting no one came close to Houston Lightscapes. Our yard and house look beautiful.

II spoke to them over the phone to get some idea on the costs and after it was in the "ballpark" of what I was willing to spend for the lighting project, they arranged for an appointment to have a look and give a proper quote. I guess they are busy and set an appointment for 2 weeks later. Mr. Michael (Owners son is what I was told by the gentleman himself) was very punctual and came to my property to look and give me a quote. He seemed a little irritated and moody from the get go. He did answer all my questions though (some of which a little unwillingly - that`s just my view). I asked him for the quote so I could discuss with my wife (since we are planning on doing some other landscape projects + of course getting other quotes) and decide. It appears that he wanted me to say YES and start the project then and there. He was like "What do you want to discuss with your wife"? "IS she home now? Can I talk to her NOW"? "If I wrote a quote for $ 100, would you say YES". Extremely irrelevant and aggressive. Probably stereotyping and profiling their customers is what I can think of? I could not stand the guy and his attitude anymore and asked him to leave my property. They just lost a $ 2k + job. I just had another company (more professional and courteous) have a look and will give them the job/project. I am surprised with all those "Good reviews" that are out there. Never judge a book by its cover I guess.

My 2 experiences with Houston Lightscapes has been excellent. They give you an estimate and stick with it. They call in advance to confirm their appointments and their installation crews are polite, efficient, clean-up after themselves and the supervisor and more than have the crew speak english, so communication is simple. Their equipment is durable and of high quality, and the office always calls after the job to make sure the customer is satisfied. First class service. I've also had then out to make repairs and update the system, and their prices are always fair and they suggest ways of doing the job at minimum costs.

Houston Lightscapes was able to accomplish my goals and fit me into the schedule before my family will arrive for the holidays. My house and backyard look beautiful, I can’t wait to show it off.

This company does great work and they stand by their work; the owner is very hands on and responsive and really knows his stuff. I highly recommend them. It’s been a pleasure having them do my outdoor lighting. I love my yard now at night!

Michael and his crew did an amazing job planning and installing our front and backyard lights. It is a pleasure to sit and enjoy our backyard with the amazing ambiance they created with the lights. Our driveway was so dark at night that we had trouble backing out. The guys installed an LED light WAY up in a tree to light our driveway and it looks great! Very professional crew. Thanks a lot!

Excellent service all the way around. They came in the evening on the first visit and set everything up for demo. Great job and made some excellent suggestions. When job was complete they called to ask if we had any concerns. We did need to make some adjustments due to some shadows. They were very quick to respond. Excellent Job!

Fantastic company. I met with Darnel at our home at night and he set up the lights to give us an idea of what they'd look like which is a huge selling point. Who else does that? Very professional service. I highly recommend them.

Actually I wish I could give more than five stars. Day one, within one hour after sundown I received a text message from my next door neighbor inquiring about the lights. Michael was awesome, thorough and most or all, very transparent. His dad came out the night of installation and even threw in an additional light on a not so well lit corner without even requesting it. We were more than pleased with the level of customer service received and the attention to detail. Kudos!

I just moved to a new place in Spring and needed some lights put up in the front and back yard. I called Houston Lightscapes and they came out the same day and gave an estimate. I was so pleased I even asked them to see if they could do it that day. And guess what, they did! They did a fantastic job and I will be recommending them to all my friends and even family!
