Houston Marriott Westchase

The westchase Marriott is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, I'd feel better at a rent by an hour hotel. Theresa at 10pm at night took my call about our ac not cooling the room. It was set to 65 from the time we checked in at 3 and the room never moved from 75. Theresa said she would have to look for a other room and call us back in 2 minutes. We waited an hour and called back, spoke to Theresa again who then told us engineering would be by he had 3 other rooms to look at. We waited another hour and btw it's 1am at this point and gave up and slept in the hot room. When we spoke to the GM the next morning she assured us it would be looked into, mentioned to her that the fan sounds like a vacuum going, that was at 10am. By 4pm nothing was done not even a room change offered, we had to call once more to get engineering to stop by. When they did we were told it's blowing 57 and the reason the room cannot cool down is because the "windows" cause the room to be hot. I'm sorry but what kind of answer is this? When I the GM she now had an additude and all of a sudden "your girlfriend will have to come and get the key cause your name isn't on it" wasn't an issue when I complained but was an issue when we asked for a room change.

To add to this while working at the event we spoke to other people who stayed here and they complained about hot rooms. I really hope the GM is task force Marriott cause this women needs to leave, no urgency when it comes to complaints no care for guests.

For reference we were on the 9th floor, we found people on floor 3,4,6 and 7 near us at this event who said their AC also never went below 75

Update: GM gave us another room on the 9th. AC still never drops below 75! Actually went up to 77 while in it. Just be prepared to die cause of heat during the summer at this hotel otherwise go somewhere else

Update 2: so we showered and saw what was written on the mirror, looks like a 3 way happened here before we got in, awesome. Not only was the AC still broke I had to knowingly sleep in a bed that was literally the night before covered in body fluids.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL PLEASE

This hotel is way beyond my expectations. Lobby smells clean n fresh. Concierge and front desk staff is very friendly and chill. Room is clean and quiet. I got good sleep/rest during this biz trip. Convenience location, a lot food spots close by and not far from the galleria mall and the memorial mall.

The beds and room were nicely decorated and spacious. The lobby was well-lit and open. However, the thermostats in the rooms are locked to a minimum of 68 degrees, which isn't sufficient to cool a room during the hot Texas summer, making it challenging to sleep at night. The bathroom appears outdated, with hard-water stains on the shower knob, and it feels like it might break off if turned too hard. Moreover, the shower knob lacks proper labeling, making it confusing to operate. The TV's functionality is poor, with significant lag between pressing buttons on the remote and the TV responding, if it responds at all. The business center only had one functional computer out of the three screens that were there. With some investment in these areas, this hotel has the potential to be much better.

The cost was somewhat pricey but it was a pretty lovely hotel. The ac does struggle to keep up. But this was during one of the fiercest heatwaves we had this summer so I will let it slide. Awesome lobby with plenty of places to relax. Mini restaurants and shops for your convenience. Close to some great restaurants! Pretty great views if you get a front windowed hotel room. Comfy rooms and great attentive room service. Fairly speedy wifi too, and the connection is very stable in all the rooms. I’m looking forward to coming back for next year’s conference!

They charged me one extra night while I called and said that I will arrive the day after as my flight was cancelled. They did not tell me about it and then they simply said this is the policies as you kept the reservation.

As one additional surprise they charged me another 258$ I have no idea why and there is no one you can reach out to

UPDATE: so I called and the hotel said that they will refund me but it will take up to 2 weeks as it is international.in the meantime I have to pay my credit card

2 WEEKS AFTER I AM STILL WAITING AND DID NOT SEE ANY MONEY! '

As I’m reading other people’s reviews, I can see I wasn’t the only one experiencing this problem. I was very unhappy with my stay here at this Marriott. I wouldn’t recommend it and I won’t. The rooms were muggy and the A/C in my room did not work. As soon as I’m I walked in the room, I could feel the stale air, which then gave me a terrible headache. I complained to the front office before taking it to corporate, but have not heard back, I keep getting the run around.

The ac did not work in the first room, so we moved to another room, and the ac didn't work in that room either. They were very nice about it but it was super disappointing. The whole building smelled like curry. I know that isn't the hotel's fault, but it's note worthy. Other than that, the room was good, the elevators were all working and super quick, the indoor/outdoor pool was nice, and they had plenty of soft towels available.

Did a staycation for my family of four. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the large indoor/outdoor pool. The service counter employee was very friendly and kind. It was a quick check in. The room was clean and updated. Nice to have refrigerator. There is a shared microwave on floor 7. The only issue was the only ice machine working was on floor 7 but I understand it is a big hotel and they can save by having one central machine for ice use. However, I will definitely return this property.

Everything was outstanding during my stay at the hotel except when check out. When a person gets reservations at the hotel for a certain price doesn't means when check out time you add extra charges for nothing. Then I asked her at the front desk, what's the extra fee is for she doesn't know but says it does that sometimes she said. That's 1 way to loose business by trying to get over on customers like that. So for future reference if it's 1 price with tax included don't add extra to the customers bill it just makes them feel different about the hotel stay.

Easy to find, good freeway access. Great food close. Large parking lot. Friendly staff. Large facility with lots of conference rooms. Comfortable beds with large rooms. We had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back for future trips

I was very amazed of how polite everyone was and what amazing work they did. When I checked in the room was very hot so the ac wasnt working well. I went to the front desk and I forgot her name but she was so amazing and fixed everything quickly she gave me a upgrade and I could not believe it the room was amazing and very very clean and nice and cold. They went above and beyond I was blown away thank you so much for the wonderful service.

There is a continuing problem with the AC, and that issue has been reported in the reviews several times. Marriott tries to placate you with an apology and a “we will look into it”.

Marriott knows there is a problem with the AC and have no plans to upgrade the system or repair.

Food was good and the staff was equally as good. Management is unresponsive regarding the AC issue

I will not be staying at this Marriott again and I recommend everyone to find another hotel, unless you really like hot and stuffy rooms.

Great location, aside from its near offices there are also available groceries and restaurants in the vicinity.
The lobby is welcoming, and the receptionstaff are courteous.
The restaurant/bar serves typical American foods with good serving. The F&B staff are top notch, aside from being professional they are personable and would strike a conversation which makes you feel your eating in a family table.

There is a Starbucks at the lobby which is a nice touch as I love espresso.

Rooms are typical, it shows its age otherwise well maintained and clean.

Would stay here again.

The room was so unbelievably hot. And when I told the hotel staff, they just lowered the lowest the AC could go by 2 degrees.
Didn't make a difference. Still sleeping in 78 degrees at midnight.
Horrible!

I am not surprised by the ugly complaints from customers, the management treats its employees fatally. They have few employees because they are mistreated by Mrs. Maite and her accomplices supervisors and the hotel material is already very old and used and they don't change it.
