Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center in Cypress

I took my husband to this center after a telemedicine visit referred us to go there. The location was easy to find, clean and nicely furnished for comfort. The person at the front desk who checked him in was professional and friendly. Our wait time was less than 10 minutes in the waiting room, and 2 nurses followed us into the room to begin the assessment. As soon as they were done the doctor came right in and after listening carefully and asking lots of questions to get a thorough understanding of what happened and his other medical conditions, ordered labs and an X Ray. As they were drawing the blood the X Ray Tech was waiting outside of the door waiting to come in and it was completed very efficiently. The EC doctor came in with her diagnosis and recommendations really quickly, but the wait for an off-site radiologist to read the XRay and make a diagnosis and recommendation took a bit. They decided he needed to be admitted and called an ambulance to transfer him to the hospital, straight to the room that was waiting for him, since we had already been seen in the EC. We had to wait for that room to become available of course, but that is always the case. This was so much nicer than waiting in a hospital EC for treatment as we had expected would happen. I followed the ambulance to the hospital and had to enter through the hospital EC since it was after hours, and it was so full with people everywhere sleeping in chairs with blankets, obviously had been there for quite a while, but my husband was taken in through the ambulance entrance and directly to his waiting bed. I have been to many EC visits over many years, and I've been a nurse for 40 years and I've never seen a better system. All of the nurses and techs and the doctor at the center were the best. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It was a long wait, but it was unpreventable and understandable and even comfortable. I would definitely go there again. Although if the word gets out I'm sure they will become much more busy. I read some of the other reviews on here, the ones with one star, and none of that was true for us. Maybe it was the day, or the time of day we arrived, but I didn't see one thing that I would have asked to be improved, and I'm picky about good medical care.

I wish I could give doctor Shaw no stars doctor Shaw so incompetent you will get better care going to a veterinarian I came in there scared cause my blood sugar was going very low my blood sugar monitor was 30 points lower than their blood sugar monitthis doctor looked at me enrolled her eyes thought I was a hypercaneact About five minutes later they checked my sugar again and it was 56and on their machine it was 68 then she decided Then I was telling the truth was word her time to look into it finally talk to him to doing a Ct scan to find out what was going on I had told her I found out from a previous visit What doctor Merrick that's told me I had Gobladder stones Sometimes Goladder stones cause low blood sugar because of problems with the Pancreas She told me everything looked at fine except for the Galbladder stones Referred me to an under chronologist I went to my primary care doctor and took them the notes from Doctor shaw The primary care had informed me that I had in enlarge spleen an amass or some sort of abnormality on my liver I was in shock it was the first i've heard of it Four days before doctor shaw did not even tell me about the findings This was terrible that a doctor did not even inform me that there is an abnormality some sort of a spot or a growth on my liver and my fleeing is enlarged Why would she not tell me this My primary care was in shock that I knew nothing of this the doctor shaw had failed to mention this important information to me about my health my vital organs Doctor shaw is not fit to Be a doctor She has a terrible bedside manner is very rude And failed to provide me with importance information about her findings of my liver and my spleen If it wasn't for me to bring in the notes that my doctor read I would have never known about this I highly recommend Doctor langford langford is a five star doctor very smart very caring great bedside manner also doctor merritt the best I give both of them five stars just dear clear from doctor shaw

Only because I have to give it a star. Worse service ever. I was here for over four hours of just waiting. Finally grew tired of not being treated. Do not come here. Want to be seen go else where because you will be waiting HOURS!
