Houston Shoe Hospital reviews
16 These people lost my shoes. I dropped them off in September and they are still looking for them.
The dude at the shop admitted he forgot to give me a claim stub and now I’m being told “ there’s nothing we can do”.
How does anyone lose a pair of shoes?
I put 3 pairs of shoes in on Saturday, August 14th. The first bad sign was after Wendell suggested a repair to me and I agreed to have that done. And he said Thursday the 19th after 2: 30pm they’ll be ready for pick up because I needed them for the that weekend. I noticed however he had changed the pick up time to Friday the 20th after 4: 00pm without asking me about it I disagreed with it so he changed it back.
I left and came back on Thursday after 2: 30pm and after giving him my slips for my shoes Wendell came back and handed me 2 pair of my shoes and one pair that belonged to someone else but it was batched with mine under the same ticket. His attitude was oh well we make those mistakes sometimes and I can’t do anything about it now. I’ll have to call around to one of the other stores to see where that pair is try to have it for you sometime next week. That was not an acceptable or professional response. He then quickly grabbed a card and said that you can call and make a complaint if you want to and I did that same day and haven’t heard back from anyone. So today I went back to pick up the pair that they couldn’t find the last time and Wendell and another guy was there. The other gentleman quoted the price on the ticket for the total of all three pair of shoes and I said no that’s not the correct price it is the $25.57 for just this one pair. He looked at Wendell and Wendell started this back and forth with me with an obnoxious attitude and demeanor. I paid for my shoes and left. I will never visit this store again and I surely want recommend it to anyone. I suggest you retrain Wendell on how to treat customers apparently he has forgotten. I truly didn’t appreciate his attitude, demeanor and unprofessionalism.
I have tried other shoe repair shops, but they don't compare to the Shoe Hospital. My wallet and purse look brand new after being cleaned and re-dyed. It's only gotten better since they started testing me when my order is ready!
Best shoe repair shop I have ever been to. The staff are very knowledgeable about caring and maintaining for your shoes.
So personable and helpful advice regarding repairs. Kept me from wasting money. I don't mind driving the distance
This is an odd review not because of what Houston Shoe Hospital did but what they didn't do. I called about having a luggage handle replaced. I don't remember the name of the gentleman I talked with, but he was incredibly nice. He asked me to send him a picture of the damage and promptly replied with an honest assessment that the repair would cost me more than my suitcase was worth. He offered to do it if I really wanted, even expediting it to try to do it before my upcoming trip. While I didn't have my suitcase repaired, it was really refreshing to have somebody provide an honest assessment. It will earn my future business, even if it did not earn them any business at this particular time.
Lance is absolutely AMAZING! He's super professional and answered all of my questions in detail. He went over and beyond to fix my shoes earlier than expected. I will only use the Houston Shoe Hospital on Shepherd Drive because of him. Thanks Lance!
I came in today to have my favorite flip flops fixed. It was the end of the day, but Lance made a point to provide excellent service. I am so thankful for his expertise and I’ll definitely be returning in the future!
I saved and budgeted for over a year and bought these beautiful rhinestone covered gladiator shoes. The straps needing adjusting and after 2 attempts my shoes were worse. 60.00 and damaged brand new shoes. They did refund me but now my dream shoes are ruined. Missing stones, straps about to fall off barely hanging on. Never got to wear them. So so disappointing. Had to throw them away and never got a return call from management about not being able to use them ever.
Tony remembers me by name, even though I come in only a few times per year. I leave my custom cowboy boots, and bespoke shoes, and have actually saved alot by taking my shoes here for repair. They even made the bottoms of my and my wife's Christian Louboutins red again on the bottom! I can't recommend this location enough! Cheerful, professional staff with amazing service!
I spoke to the guy over the phone he assured me he could fix the shoes when I got here the service was poor and remedial
Staff is amazing. Don't hesitate to reach out to the team if you find a way to un-sole your shoes like I did.
Visited the Shepherd location on a Friday and they were amazing. Explained to the young man about my YSL bag needing to be cleaned after I spilled crab leg juice on it BUT I needed it back ASAP because I was going on vacation. He said he’d get back to me that Monday if they were able to clean it as their service typically takes 2 weeks. On Monday I heard nothing back, and on Tuesday I got a message saying my purse was ready! Once I got it back the stain, and smell, were gone and the purse looked brand new again. Thank you:)
5 star! Great service and always friendly! We have been going to the Shepard location for years.
I have been a customer of Houston Shoe hospital from the 1990's at the Kirby location and since 2010's at the Shepherd location. I took a pair of cloth shoes this week for re-sewing and a new interior lining. The result was a brand new pair of shoes. I still have a pair of nice Botticelli ankle boots I bought in NY in the early '90's that have been completely rebuilt more than once over the decades at the Kirby and Shepherd locations, as I have worn them to death. Service is always superlative and considerate. I do miss Sam's shoe shine stand. I used to bring all my leather shoes in once a year for him to refurbish professionally.
AMAZING service! Very friendly and helpful. I would never take my shoes anywhere else! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality shoe repair and BONUS they have a beautiful selection of handbags!
