My friend’s dog baby died today. It was pretty traumatic, she was holding her through 30 min traffic and giving her compressions the whole way to this emergency clinic since it was the only one that we could find that was closest to us. And as soon as we arrive her dog was passing away in her arms as she runs through the door asking for help. Most of the staff was considerate of the fact that she was losing a member of her family, but some of the other staff made it seem like it was inconveniencing them. After they took her dog in to give CPR, she had to check in and we were just trying to take our minds off and calm down from the situation, and remain hopeful. So I asked the tall older, man how is day was doing, and he said “it was going good until now” and looked up kind of smug. This is also the same guy she gave her dying dog to while running in crying. He could have been joking to lighten the mood, but his overall attitude really was monotone and over the whole situation, so it was very distasteful. And as she sat there crying because unfortunately, we had just arrived too late and her baby had passed away, a lot of people were giving her side eyes and mean looks as if she was the weird one for crying over her loss of a pet. Although there were two young ladies that were very sweet though, the one who helped her figure out the options for proper burial and the one who brought her dog baby to say a final goodbye. If it weren’t for them the whole experience would have been even more traumatic than it already was.

Ashlee, Brandi, and the front desk lady with glasses were the only ones who seemed to show empathy and tact throughout our situation with a loved one. Those ladies were the only positive from this experience. Some of the other staff members seemed like they didn't care.

Just giving other animal owners an idea on price for euthanizing your animal. Facilities were in great condition and service good. Price $330 for a puppy no more than 1lb. I found an average of $125-250 price for this service in the Dallas area so $330 is above average.

I've been coming here for years with my 3 dogs, 2 ferrets, and my cat. These people truly care for animals and what they do. Tonight they went above and beyond to help my girl Shadow with her wounds. Thank you I20!

I have been going here off and on for almost ten years. The staff has always been pleasant. The care my pets receive has always been great. It's worth the extra miles and after other places and experiences I will continue to come back. I know when it comes to the care of our fur babies money is no object but for some people the reality can be money. This place is very reasonable and that is hard to find in this day and age, so thank you, you have a customer for life.

I had an unpleasant experience with Dr. Zimmerman. She was very unprofessional and spouting off unkind things about another reputable vet in the area. I voiced my concern to a receptionist and asked for a call back from the Practice Manager regarding my experience. I received a call from Glen, the Practice Manager, who let me voice my concern, intently listened and apologized for the interactions we had with Dr. Zimmerman. He offered an unexpected refund of our visit. My family has used i-20 Animal Medical Center for years with no issue. They are greatly appreciated in those wee hours when our wild pups get into trouble or become ill. Thank you, Glen for listening and taking action. I would recommend i-20 Animal Medical Center to those I care about. I would, though, steer clear of Dr. Zimmerman. They have many other fantastic, caring, kind doctors.

Today was the hardest day of my life losing my sweet baby girl. The staff here made all the difference! They took such good care of my baby and I, I can't thank all of you enough. From the time I pulled up, I couldn't get her out of the car.the vet tech working the front desk came out and lifted my 61 lb dog without hurting her and without skipping a beat. She was so awesome, everyone was. Thank you all so much for the immediate care you gave my baby and the genuine care you showed her dad and I.

Just so you know, I did contact them first and try to work something out. They kind of have the market for emergencies. They told me my cat had an obstruction and needed an emergency $5800 surgery or he’d die. The vet told me the labs were normal and that the less invasive route wouldn’t matter, it would only rack up expenses, and that surgery was inevitable. So of course I did it and maxed out my credit card. Turns out there was no obstruction. Turns out the labs DID say pancreatitis possible (for which there is no cure and could have been diagnosed without cutting him open). I can see it for myself, time stamped BEFORE the surgery. I confirmed this with my regular vet. I went back to them and told them I felt misinformed and would they please consider refunding at least some of the huge bill. They didn’t. I liked the vet and the people are nice, but buyer beware, it’s gonna cost a fortune and it may be unnecessary and the sad part is, you may never know. I feel totally screwed over.

This place has gone down hill tremendously.
The pricing is out of control. Every time they always want to do anything and everything. Then when you tell them I can't afford all that. Then ask what my budget is.
Seriously? !
If it's all so important and needed, why would there be things that are recommended, but not necessarily an urgent thing?

Don't tell people that you'll be right back with estimate (like last time I was here) and not show up for an hour.
Once you start on a patient, all following steps need to follow.

Being told you are short staffed because several people are out with covid is not acceptable.

Having to hear staff talking and laughing doesn't help while waiting to be even seen.

And please.do not bother with your copy and paste reply. It's the same mess different day.

JUST DO BETTER.

I not only work at I-20 Animal Medical Center, but I am also a client. The team of CSRs, Technicians, and Doctors provided the best care to my Sadie as we dealt with her kidney disease. I see everyday how all of the staff here truly cares for the pets that come to the hospital. Sadie was our world! This past Friday we had to make the heart-wrenching decision to help Sadie and stop her suffering. To say we are devastated is an understatement. I would like to thank the team at I-20 Animal Medical Center for their care, concern, and compassion for Sadie.

Back in May, two of our dogs got ahold of a new bottle of ibuprofen and ate approximately 50-60 tablets while we were out of the house. We rushed them both up here, and they kept them for 2 full days. The team working 5.12.23-5.14.23 were knowledgeable, informative, and very kind. They answered all of our phone calls, and allowed us to see them during their stay. They were thankfully able to get the pills out of their system, and we are truly grateful. Thank you for saving our babies.

My cat was limping and not eating so my husband and I rushed him to this horrible place because we didn'tknow where else to go since most clinics were closed. We waited three hours for him to get blood work and x-rays. We paid almost $700 for this. The vet nonchalantly mentioned that his lungs should have appeared darker and said that his calcium level was high, but she wouldn't say why. She just suggested even MORE tests to be done. My husband and I decided to go to a different vet for a second opinion. There was a total change in demeanor at this point. The veterinary aide gave us a very cold "Sorry" when we left the building.
We took our cat someplace else and the vet immediately saw that my cat had lung cancer. They said there was nothing we could do and so my husband and I made the painful decision to put him down.
The I-20 clinic didn't care about my cat suffering. They just wanted more tests done so they could get even more money. They should have seen those two masses on the x-ray.
I-20 Clinic. I know you read these reviews. I don't want you to respond saying "We're sorry" because that's a lie. I don't want to hear your lame excuses. You should have seen that cancer.
That cat was like family to me. I'm so, so sorry even I took him here.
For those who read this. Dont go here.
It's all about taking advantage of people who love their animals.

The veterinarian services my pets have received here over the years have always been top notch so I trusted their boarding facility with my 2 corgis for a short stay. My girl came back to me with a large chunk missing off the end of her nose and no explanation from staff as to what happened other than they "guessed" she had shoved her nose under the door of her kennel. This "guess" about her injury was only given after I brought her back in from a short walk to the car where I got a good look at her. I was offered a walk in appointment with a vet, which I declined due to after hours cost and a lobby full of very sick and injured animals. Then a vet tech brought me some ointment for it, which I had to pay for. I've left messages for the facility manager with no return call to discuss the issue and injury. Point being, my dog was injured and no one said a word about it until I asked and if they missed this what else did they miss and or not do for my dogs.

The "direct number" provided is the locations general number. I've once again left messages for the facility manager with no call back. I'll let those that read this review infer what they will from the lack of actual response to my concern.

YOU CANNOT CALL YOURSELF AN EMERGENCY VET IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT ANIMALS 24/7

Twice now I have had to take a dog to the vet after hours (where only emergency vets are available). The first time (when my dog had stalled while whelping) they told me at 3 AM they would not have a vet on site until 8 AM. The second time (puppy got a gash in her armpit), they told me the vet on-site was not accepting patients currently.

I do not recommend even calling as they seem to have no interest in business. Been going to the for 20 years, though dog siezures, bladder sugeries, and end of life care. I cant believe they've become so terrible.

Peyton and Ashley were a really great help today. I made an appointment at 930 am, wasn’t seen until 1130 am because they were busy but they went above and beyond by making the visit pleasant. I really appreciated all the staff today!

We brought our dog Babe, who we thought had choked on food but it was Anaphylaxis. They were quickly and very hard to save our doggies life

Kudos to Mystery who worked closely with the Dr and preformed CPR.
And Heidi I think is the admin that helped me navigate the credit process to secure funds to save her life.

Have had great experiences here several times in the past 4 years or so. Today WAS NOT. I told the vet exactly what was causing my dogs symptoms, because I knew for sure she had eaten a poisonous plant, pokeweed. Dr. El-Heet continued to talk to me about Parvo and intestinal parasites disregarding what I said, suggesting we run tests for those and $322 of blood work. I declined those as I knew they were unnecessary but did the blood work. You may have gone to vet school- but I know my dog and why we came to the clinic. We will NOT choose to see Dr. El-Heet again, you should listen to your patients owners instead of making them feel insignificant and just spending our money. When you don’t listen it makes it hard to trust you. When I told you I knew she’d eaten pokeweed you didn’t even look up pokeweed poisoning.:/ STOP JUST TRYING TO SPEND OUR MONEY!

I’ve brought my pup here plenty of times - I may be a bit overprotective. Every time the staff is friendly to me and my pup. They usually thoroughly explain every aspect of our visit. Aside from varying wait times we are always very satisfied with our experience.
