After eating next door at Alexander's several times, I finally decided to book a weekend here and don't have a single regret about it.
We stayed in the McKie room (3rd floor of the main house aka the Manor) which has a lovely little reading nook overlooking the creek and a library stocked with old books (like 1960s readers digest compilations). The room was great and so was everything about our stay.
Tony, the innkeeper, was such a delight every time we talked to him. We brought him some bread pudding from next door as a treat for being so great. He was also very knowledgeable on the property and it's history, which was fascinating.
Breakfast in the lobby, or they bring it to your room, consisting of fresh baked break, yogurt, granola, eggs, and fresh fruit, every morning!
We also spoke with Colleen, the property manager I think? And she was great! She went into detail about some more of the properties and various improvements. Explained the history of the little pagoda in the nearby bamboo forest and other little tidbits like that.
And to top it all off, it was extremely affordable for the room and amount of hospitality they showed us.
We will definitely be back!

The staff went above and beyond after the original hotel we wanted canceled our reservations for my birthday at the last minute. We called the Inn on the creek and explained our dilemma and not only did they set us up with a beautiful private bungalow but gave us a little bottle of prosecco. They were very good about communicating with us and gave a number to text if we needed anything. The breakfasts were amazing and delivered to our door. We had several deer visit our backyard. We are definitely looking forward to coming back. If you go check out the restaurant Alexander's. Amazing food and wonderful service.

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this lovely inn! My fiancé and I, (who had come to Salado for a little overnight getaway in order to celebrate our engagement) had a terrible experience with another local inn. We called the Inn on the Creek at Salado and they were able to book us in a gorgeous room in a quiet location at the last minute. The room and grounds are BEAUTIFUL and peacful, and the staff was SO amazing and accommodating for our last minute booking. They not only made us feel very welcome, but also went out of their way to make sure what had begun as a not so great getaway turned out to be the lovely and romantic weekend we had hoped for! Thanks so much Inn on the Creek! Your place is the ONLY place we will book on our future trips to Salado!

We booked a room somewhat last minute, as a stop/layover during a road trip. We stayed in the Fletcher room, which couldn't have been more charming! Everything was very nice, comfortable, and clean. The owners were very accomodating - and the breakfast was delicious! We will definitely stay here again.

We’ve stayed here several times before and have always enjoyed it. We missed the hot breakfast they served before Covid. But even the cold breakfast was quite tasty as well as filling. Dinner at the Inn was excellent. I had the lamb shank and my wife had the pork chops. Mine came with mashed potatoes, carrots and zucchini. The meat was so tender I didn’t need a knife. The town is small. We walked everywhere.

On our drive back from San Antonio, we just thought we will rest few mins by the park here in Salado. We saw this place by the creek and Tony was really nice to show us the rooms here. We decided to stay as the rooms are really nice with character. Great experience plus it is fun exploring this beautiful town

The room and grounds were lovely. Very clean and comfortable. There were some missing elements like soap, shampoo, lotion, baked goods upon arrival. This property is more like a hotel than bed & breakfast. The staff was very friendly.

From the charming atmosphere and location to the elegant rooms, this was a wonderful stay. We chose the Anderson room complete with a claw foot tub and king size bed. Breakfast was wonderful as well and served at Alexander's which is a 4 star restaurant attached to the Inn. Love the attention of Tony, the innkeeper who takes care of you! Thank you for a wonderful long weekend!

We had a blast. What a great cozy place. Nice views, huge mature trees, friendly people, a great small town with plenty to do in walking distance from the inn. My family had an awesome time. Thank yall so much.

Nice B&B. Staff is very friendly. Restaurants on the property were convenient and very good. A few things kept me from giving five stars. First, you had to request each day if you wanted your room's fridge to be restocked. I would suggest that they have bottled water and drinks available in a common area for you to take and stock the fridge. We forgot that they want you to ask, so we just went without. The second thing, at checkout, we were given options to tip. A tip for housekeeping, for wait staff, and for the inn itself. We have been going to B&Bs for 30+ years and have visited dozens across Texas, and have never been asked to leave a tip. I think the tipping culture has gone a little nuts, but this was a first for me. A bit off putting.

I don't even know where to start about this place. It is romantic, eclectic, vintage, old world class and service. Impeccable food at the restaurant or at The Shed you can have a sports bar vibe or have room service to your beautiful comfortable bed. The rooms are full of amenities not to mention the plush bedding and wonderfully cool air conditioning which in Texas is a huge plus. Is a full wonderful spa with every service you can imagine. Tons of shopping just around the corner and things that interest the husbands as well as the ladies. Walk along the river. BRING your water shoes! Watch the ducks! And don't forget Axis Winery up the road which has this historical cabin converted into a tasting room with wonderful wines and owned by USA veteran & of course Drake greeted us at the door.

Lovely restaurant with 3 rd floor bar overlooking Salado Creek. Free parking and accesible entry and dining. Enjoyed large group dining with friends here. Tenderloin with asparagus was superb.

Still giving the most incredible service at this beautiful, unique hidden gem in Central TX. Absolutely gorgeous, well-maintained grounds. All the little touches you only get in small places like this. Have stayed twice and can't say enough good things!

Super cute bed and breakfast in Salado! We attended a wedding in Salado and the wedding party stayed here. It was perfect! Awesome restaurant called Alexander’s Distillery, good amount of land to roam around on, by the creek where you can sit in a hammock or relax in chairs, lots of wildlife nearby and ducks that even walk about the property. It was adorable! And you get little chocolates in your room! We can wait to go back to this town!

Quaint room near the river. Beautiful antique room. We enjoyed the room, although they could upgrade a few things like door handles to work properly. Breakfast was good (although frozen waffles) and Tony was fun.

We had a spectacular experience staying at Inn on the Creek! We booked the Inn for a surprise engagement weekend for my now fiancé. Every member of the staff and The Inn, Venue, Spa, and Alexander’s were wonderful to work with. From the moment I inquired, everyone was spectacular and went above and beyond to make our weekend special!

We stayed in the Horton House, and it was the perfect private oasis for our weekend getaway. Each meal we ate at Alexander’s was incredible, and they even worked with us to create a special off-menu meal to celebrate our engagement. All the staff members were incredibly kind and ensured that we had a wonderful stay. Staying at Inn on the Creek for our engagement weekend was a wonderful decision, and we look forward to returning!
