Never again! I’ve been coming for several years now. Tonite worse service & food ever! No napkins, silverware, or water service.they were out of beans, only gave one tortilla per person, but still charged full price for food. I talked to Irma personally and no apology or compensation. WILL NOT be back! There are other places that give better service! NO excuse! They said it was game nite, but the table next to us had better service!

It's always a pleasure eating here. This family owned restaurant is always so nice and welcoming from the moment you walk in. They sit down at your table to discuss the menu options like you're part of their family and make sure you get the best option for your tastes. Mama won't let you leave without being completely satisfied. Love everything here and will continue to bring new people to share this gem of a place!

Amazing food and atmosphere! Margaritas were strong and very tasty. There is no printed menu so you have no idea what anything costs. Recommend eating before the drinks start to save your budget. Good luck!

My boss Deanna takes us here and it’s fantastic every time. Ingredients are fresh. Family owned for a very long time. A Houston staple. Irma is such a sweet, hard-working woman. I respect the heck out of her.

One of my favorite places to eat Mole. Visited for an early dinner couple days ago. We were greeted by a lady, I believe it's the daughter of the owner. This lady had a bad attitude to our table and to another table that was near ours. I ordered my usual plate and it was delicious. We just ate uncomfortable because, yes just like the other reviews they do keep asking you over and over if you want queso or guacamole. Table for 2 was close to $53 for 2 lemonade, mole enchiladas and a carne guisada plate. This was way too much and I do agree they should have menus with pricing. The guys usually take care of us and the owner comes over. We got stuck with the very rude lady and unfortunately we will not be coming back. The prices are ridiculous!

Fast, delicious and the staff goes out of their way to take care of you. The owner Mr Galvan has been a staple in downtown Houston for years with the highest quality of food and service.

I was recommended the Chicken Mole for lunch, no menue offered so I took it, the mole was NOT scratch made. It was more like maple looking syrup, so sweet it ended up making me sick to my stomach, couldnt taste any spices or peppers at all. Spent many years working in Mexico especially Puebla and Oaxaca areas. It was a shame because this restraunt used too have good authentic dishes. And to top it off the lunch was 30.00? Never again will I go back here. 25 plus years of dining in this place.

Great place to be sit and just eat what the chef has for the day. It opened my taste buds to new things. Love their enchiladas, tamales and tres leches.

Irma's was really neat, but my biggest complaint is how they do service and their prices. The food wasn't bad, and I didn't mind that the waiter told us the evening's specials at the table. That was actually original and cool!

But we only had three enchilada plates, one taco plate, three margaritas, and a diet coke. Yet the total came out to $150 which wasn't communicated to us until we went to the cash register to pay bc again no prices are shown anywhere.

Not against that style of restaurant, but when you walk in, the vibe of the place is a laid back mom and pop style with good/relatively inexpensive food. Did not expect white table cloth prices at all and the quality of food did not match the cost. Will sadly not be going back.

Some how the menu was “broken” $10 for guac, $10 for queso, sodas $5 each, $25 for an under portion “carnitas” that came out looking like fajitas. Carne asada came bathed in sauce. Way over price for the portion of the food. Felt like they just had some dish ready and that’s what one was getting.

Nice restaurant, much more seating than I initially thought when first seeing outside. Staff were numerous and friendly. Good drink selection. Lots of great decor and pictures, much atmosphere.

Irmas is best family owned restaurants in DT Houston. Try the lemonade! It's a must.everything is good, can't go wrong on anything. Fyi Irma still working there in her 80s! God bless you Irma. I love you and your great Lil place.
Free parking in their own lot adjacent to restaurant.

Avoid. Food is mid, service is pushy, and … no menus! Which means you have no idea what you’re paying until you get the bill, and—should have known—turns out it’s insanely expensive. If you’ve been eating here for 30 years more power to you. If it’s your first time give it a miss.

We didn’t know where to eat but this restaurant looked interesting and we love Mexican so we tried it…. Should have known something was wrong with no menus, really pushy staff right from the get go…. Meal was ok, I can’t say it was bad but I’ve had better. I will say the lentil soup was great, the best thing I tasted in a long while bean wise! We had chili con queso and guacamole, a margarita a michelada which was one beer bottle size and $15.00 for that beer! Two entrees and a Sopaipilla which was just two little ones and was great but not $8.00 great…. Our bill any other place would have been maybe $60.00 not $91.00. We work hard for our money, don’t have money to waste on mediocre food that is overpriced. I saw one review and the restaurants response to basically the same experience we had was they are competitive to restaurants in this area…. Come on I know how much it takes to make a good michelada I also know how much it takes to make a great carne guisada and enchiladas and this is not anywhere near the price even with the percentage needed to make a profit this was definitely overpriced …. They are trying to make a killing here… definitely buyer beware! Atmosphere was wonderful though I will say that…
