Island House Beachfront Condominiums, Corpus Christi TX

The condo we got was overpriced and extremely outdated. Felt I was in the 70s. Two main rooms didn't have doors but dividers which wasn't very private. Location was the only plus to this place. We were also told over the phone we could drive golf carts on the beach in front of the condo, but after renting two we found out that area doesn't allow the carts. Also, first place I've ever stayed at that charges $12 a piece for non returned key card and parking pass. I think it will be my first and last stay here.

I think all the condos need a remodel but that's expensive. It's also ridiculous how much it cost to stay a night there.

Absolutely lovely. The "room" that we had was 3 bathrooms 4 separated bedrooms with 6 beds total. And they have wifi, a kitchen, washer and dryer, as well as a section of the beach that is blocked off from cars driving on it. They also have the option for you to rent a big awning, for shade on the beach, which they set up and take down for you.

Love this place, been staying at the Island House with my family since 1985. My only complaint is that some of the condos have been updated and some have not. Location location location, this faculty has the best location on the island, with direct beach access. Will never stay anywhere else when going to the texS beach

This was our fourth visit to Island House.
We arrived on a Friday afternoon. At 12: 45 a.m. We received a call that my mother had passed away. We had to leave immediately and return to Waco, Tx. As soon as the office opened at 7: 00a.m. We called to notify them of our situation and that we had already left.
When asked about refund policy we were told
they would be unable to issue a refund.
A little disappointed that they were not willing to refund part of our money.
Probably won't be returning.

I used to come here during the summer as a kid with my mom. It is just as much fun as I remembered. It was really cool being able to take my kids now and them have the same fun experience.
Rooms were clean and neat. Plenty of space for my family of 4.
Lots to do. The beach is 20 steps away. The pool is blocked from the wind making it relaxing. And if you get too much sun the rooms have more then enough table space and room for games and playing. Our family will be back.

It's been a few years but Island House is by far my favorite beach stay. The condo was.clean and well-maintained. The best view of the gulf! Hope to.make it back there some day!

This is a great place to have your vacation! It is in a good location and right on the beach. My family has been coming here for 20 years and have never had a bad experience.

The property is old, but pretty well maintained on the outside. Beach was convenient and clean. A few simple improvements and our stay would have been much better. First, the bed was HORRIBLE! For the price, owners should be required to have quality beds (#214). 1 shower didn’t work. I was told the condo sleeps 2-4. That usually means there’s a sleeper sofa. Not in our unit. When I checked out, I asked about that and was told can sleep 4, with 2 comfortably. Does that mean the other 1 that won’t fit on a non sleeper sofa sleeps on floor? People should be told the 1 bedroom isn’t a separate room; it’s totally open to living room. We paid extra for a beach view; windows were filthy. Not good looking through haze. They have 6 gas grills; many in bad condition. We appreciated the family atmosphere - not crazy loud. We were there during the week. A few friends have asked if we’d return. Maybe. If able to confirm some of the issues above were solved.

We were looking for a Memorial Day Weekend stay-cation. We had been booked for a month when they cancelled our reservation just two weeks before. The reason was that they don't rent to locals. Gosh Corpus Christi, this local business doesn't think very highly of you! I understand policy, but why did it take them a month to see this? Others in our group were cancelled too. Good luck finding somewhere to stay with such short notice. Thanks Island House for ruining our weekend. I will tell my out of town friends and family how you guys operate.

The view the view the view! Not a bad place to lay your head and wake up at. The air in the room was heavy with humidity. Which is understandable being run off the Gulf. Would have been awesome if there was a dehumidifier, but we made do. We cranked up the AC which definitely took care of the problem. Thanks Daddy-o! Everything was clean and felt welcoming. And the young lady who we checked in was polite. It is also amazing that the beach is a skip away and is private. They also have canopies available for rent. If swimming in the beach is not your thing after a nice walk along side of it hop in the pool. We would definitely stay here again. Do not forget to bring a kite.

Great place to stay if you are looking to enjoy Corpus Christi TX ocean veiws. The staff is wonderful and go out of your way to make your stay perfect.

This little property is probably Corpus' best kept secret. On the outside it doesn't look like much but inside the unit was so clean and comfortably appointed. It was spacious and had everything you could need for a turn around to several day long getaway. The staff were so nice, Lauren at the front desk, all the staff whom assisted in bringing chairs to the beach, very polite, very nice. The direct beach access is to die for. The beach is clean, isolated and directly behind the property just footsteps. I will definitely be back.
