Island Retreat, Port Aransas TX

Water smelled like sulphur due to inactivity. We had a leaking faucet. The temperature was unseasonably cold 28 degrees. The bedding had to be washed but maintenance were prompt and courteous.

#53 this is a very nice 2 bedroom condo on the ground. The back has a gated porch and faces the pool, within walking distance of the ocean on a walkway. Quiet during the autumn, and winter

Water in pool is kinda gross but rooms are very nice and clean, everything was enjoyable and I haven't any real complaints as it's right by the ocean. Walls are a little easy to hear through.

Great location with a boardwalk to the beach. The condo was rented through Port A Escapes and was decorated really cute and had all the amenities as my own place.

Nice place to rent on the beach! Great service and easy access to the water! Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony as well!

If you want a place to yourself well the retreat is the place to go very beautiful quiet and safe

Great resort/property for family and kids. 2-5 min walk to the beach, Lots of amenities and facilities on the property itself: has 2 x large pools on the property, basketball court, tennis court etc. Excellent location.

The condo is so beautifully decorated. I went on a mother and daughter's weekend. Big swimming pool, grill and table right outside back door, very spacious patio. Boardwalk to the beach. Great location close to the shops and restaurants. First time here and definitely not our last. We were in unit #47. Only thing we could not figure out was the TV Only certain channels worked. My daughter called the management company and no one ever called back.

We come here every year for family vacation and it just gets better and better every year. Will continue to make this or second home! Great condos, clean, beautiful, stocked with everything you need and close to all amenities including the beach!

This resort is located to what is central of Port Aransas with a short walk to the beach and short driving distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms were very nice and accommodating and they include a small kitchen with a stove and dishwasher. It also has a medium sized living room with access to a balcony. In our resort we had 3 rooms, 2 with queen beds and one with 2 full sized mattresses that were pretty comfortable. The bathroom was great as well and the resort provided a few towels, although i suggest bringing a few of your own just in case. Hand soap and lotion available as well. The stacked washer/dryer combo is also available for use! Please tidy up and sweep up the sand you drag in:)

Dirty shower-mildew and buildup on shower head. Fridge side was disgustingly stained. The patio door is gross on the track and also doesn’t work. You have to lift it to move it. But the worst part was seeing cockroaches in the bathroom but then also having them crawl on the bed. I will not being staying anywhere near here again.

Nice place to stay, very nice inside, only thing was alot of mosquitos outside, make sure to bring something to keep them off of you.

We stayed in Island Retreat II twice this summer and enjoyed both trips. The pool is nice and it is a close walk to the beach.

Great place to stay. Super clean, well equipped and great communication! Short walk to the beach, and just down the street from restaurants and shopping!

Rooms are a welcomed break from corporate standardized decorations and comfort. Absolutely the best location to stay in town!

I got unlucky and got a really bad decrepit room, but when I saw it and quickly found another place they did promptly refund me my money for which I am glad. Found a suite in town at least 20 times better and cleaner for the same price.

We stayed at "On the half shell". Firstly, we arrived an hour after check in, we then had to wait an additional 30 minutes because house keeping showed up at the same time we did. How can the room not be ready at a 4pm check-in when the checkout time is 10am? Then upon arrival back to our room, the door code that was given to us was not correct. So we waited another 20 minutes for someone to show up with a code and to get into our room. The room we booked was listed as a pool view. The reason we booked it was it came with an additional balcony. Well our room had no balcony nor pool view. Our room wasn't the nicest but it wasn't the worst. It had busted tile and stained couch cushions. (Pictures included.) We tried to talk to management but they didn't call back until 10 minutes before their office closed and then acted as if they couldn't hear us and hung up. They didn't return calls afterwards. The office staff on site is only an HOA board member and reports any issues to management but can't do anything to fix issues. We heard nothing back after stating issues with our room, only that she would make sure they would fix the website error about the pool view for that unit. The pool, basketball/tennis court, and boardwalk to beach were nice, but we definitely won't be staying here again. Only reasons for two stars on service was because of the nice gentleman and prompt arrival to get us in our room.

Very nice, a little on the expensive side, but in Port A you get what you pay for. Close to basically everything. Condo very well kept. A totally nice experience.

Loved it! The rooms were nice and spacious. Great value for the price. A short walk to the beach and the pool is awesome! The outdoor area is very nice and well kept with lots of chill spots and BBQ pits (grills, and smokers). Will def come back!
