J MICHAEL BRENNAN MD PA, Dallas TX

I've left several messages over the past three days in reference to my mother (the patient) being admitted to a psychiatric facility for abusing prescription drugs. I've left three messages for Dr. Brennans assistant Chris with about a 12 hour or longer time period between messages. It states that multiple messages will delay in returning my phone call, so apparently it doesn't matter how urgent it is considering they are the ones dispensing most of the meds she's abusing. I've stated in each message to please stop all prescription medications to the pharmacy and that I will produce all legal documents and HIPPA forms that they need to discuss these issues with me. Not only have they not returned my call but went ahead and called in another prescription to her pharmacy 12 hours after the first message was left with severe urgency to please stop further prescriptions or she's going to kill herself. I've spoke with her primary doctor personally on the phone and everything on that end was taken care of. Be careful sending your loved ones here. Apparently it's all about the money and no compassion for a patient that has a serious drug problem. If you read this review and have access to a staff member, will you please have someone call me. Chris the assistant has all the information I've left on her voice-mail to include DOB, SS# and so on. Thank You

On the first day I met Dr. Brennan, he is extremely professional and asked many questions to get to know me so I felt welcomed like I can relax and tell him about my goals. He listened and told me that based on my scores for a diagnosis he said I have ADD and later learned I have generalized anxiety, so he gave me a book to read, that I don’t know if I can release the title but if I can; provide input on reply page. I had trouble speaking and was anxious I felt I couldn’t be understood then after medicine and counseling I learned that I can function better and form complete sentences focus and control my life instead of always feeling anxious if I say something wrong. Thank you all including the friendly staff that understands patients.

Dr. Brennan has absolutely changed my life in multiple ways I originally came in for Anxiety and ADD.severe ADD to where I was loosing my job from not being able to control it at times! I have ordered the book for anxiety and it helps tremendously. He is one of the sweetest doctors and his staff is so funny and amazing and they never judge you as an individual! I highly reccomend Drm Brennan to my family and friends!

Yesterday was my 2nd appointment with this doctor. I was scheduled two days prior but they called me two hours before my appointment to say that he had to pick up his son from school so they needed to reschedule my appointment. He was 30 minutes late taking me back for my appointment. He was very short with me once we sat down in the room together and was quick to prescribe an antidepressant which he says he prescribes to most of his patients for depression and it has worked for all of them. If I tried to ask any questions about the medication and it’s effects he was quick to shut me down and basically told me not to ask questions. I took the prescription with me but after the way he treated me and his dismissive personality made me think that he is not a good fit for me. I will never go back to that office again.

Dr. Brennan is an amazing doctor and his entire staff is absolutely amazing and patient with their patients! I would recommend any and everyone to Dr. Brennan, truly helped change my life!

Dr. Brennan has been a tremendous help to me for about 7 years. He is extremely professional yet conveys sincere care for you as a patient. He is a doctor of few words mostly, but what he does say is extremely insightful and helpful.

Great staff. He's right to the point, honest. Prescribed medications that have improved my life and health without over medicating. Genuinely concerned for my recovery. Love him!

He is non judgemental. Calm and direct with his assessment. 10 years as a patient and he has always setup followup. If you miss one he calls to check on you.
If you want a doctor that talks a lot, he doesn't. He let's you talk and he listens, takes notes and ask direct questions to diagnose what is best for your mental health. I'm a female that suffers from depression, anxiety and adhd. He treats me like a person and respects me. I can say his direct approach saved my life. His direct approach some may find hard to take and misunderstood as lack of caring. He lets you talk to him. No fake fluff.

I’m not sure why reviewers are saying this doctor over prescribes medications. On my first visit he pulled up my medical records electronically. Apparently all patient records are in one database for Texas doctors to access in real time. He was able to see what medications I had been prescribed and what doses.

You can no longer “doctor shop” as many patients are guilty of.

Dr Brenner was very polite. He asked a number of questions to find out what my issue was during my first visit. He does write down a lot as he’s asking you many questions.

Rarely does he lift his head to make eye contact. I thinks he’s focused on the questions, the patient’s response, writing his notes, and diagnosing all at the same time.

His staff is very friendly.

So far Dr Brenner has been a great help. He definitely didn’t overprescribe medication for me.

On the contrary he did not prescribe any of my former medications that were on my medical file in the database and instead only prescribed me one medication.

If you have no insurance it is $350 for the first visit and $150 for each visit after.

Doctor was great. Receptionist is a total @sshole. She lies. That is all I care to write about her. She is a terrible employee and is hurting his business. Do not go here for the love of all that is holy. Have a good day.

Careless drug dealer with a medical degree!
"Dr" has continued to send (by mail) prescriptions for the maximum allowable dosage of two different adhd stimulants to an undiagnosed friend (seeking out the drugs) who lives in a different city, and has had NO FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS.
"Doctor" has been told (IS AWARE) that his drugs have already CAUSED a case of stimulant-induced-PSYCHOSIS & HOSPITALIZATION along with all kinds of scary & permanent side-effects that linger even when off of the meds, yet the scripts keep coming!
This "MD" is BREAKING LAWS and not acting anything like a health professional should!
If this keeps happening, I'll have to file a report against him, he needs to be investigated and stopped before more people/harm is done!

Dr. Brennan is certainly a decent doctor, very professional, and so is the staff as well. I literally been chasing his offices around for a decade. '08-current.

Brennan is nothing more than a pill pusher with a licence. He is a scum - prescribes ABSURD AMOUNTS of drugs he gave me 70mg vyvance and 90 20mg adderall per month. I decided to keep my heart and drop this manic dr psycho who doesn't know how to stop writing. He ran out of rx pads during my appointment! Hahaha

Very good. Not at all dismissive to women or minorities unless you're crazy and perceive him that way

Longtime patient efficient therapy as far as medication goes and always consulting notes and inquiring about the background etc.just trying to keep on top of things brilliant.

Also as trivia I would point out his medical degree is from UT Southwestern SMU MBA and his residency was at Massachusetts General so A fairly ringing endorsement considering that renowned hospital's proximity to Harvard medical

I have experienced nothing but a positive and pleasant experiences from my visits and I have been a patient for close to 2 years now. The environment is laid back and the staff seem friendly and professional as well as Dr. Brennan. Definitely recommend for anyone in need of a psychiatrist.
