Jack Allen's Kitchen Oak Hill, Austin TX

We loved our experience at Jack Allen’s! Our waitress was Jackson and she was so kind and efficient. Our food was GREAT! We had it ALL. We started with wine and beer. Pretty good selection and options. They offer a small little complimentary entree that was really good! We had the jalapeño crab dip for an appetizer and it was so good. I would highly recommend. It was not too spicy and served warm. For entrees- we had the Southern Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It had pimento cheese, pickled geeen tomatoes (so good!) jalapeño mayo, and spicy slaw however I did not find it overly spicy.
The flavor was great. The NY Strip fried steak was also amazing. The portion sizes are MASSIVE. We were shocked at the price because it felt like we had so much more food. Finally, we had the flourless chocolate torte and it was also AMAZING. All around great experience and would definitely recommend. We will be back!

Horrible experience. 11/13/21 4 people on our way to a wedding stopped in for a cocktail at Jack Allen’s on Hwy 71. Found a free hi top table in bar area. Walked up to the bar and tried to order 4 drinks. Female bartender said we would have to place our order with a server, but the server was at a pre shift meeting. How long? Her answer I don’t know a few minutes maybe. What! Then a male bartender came over and took our order. Thank you. We went back to the hi top table, took an empty chair from another hi to0 so all 4 of us could sit. A few minutes later a server came over and we told her we already ordered but she would probably have to bring us the drinks. Then, I guess the manager came over and said we had to get up because he had to move the table so there would be a walkway. Then he took one of the chairs and pushed it to the bar. My friend said, where do I sit. He said you can’t only three seats at the table. What a joke. Is this what Covid-19 has done or is this place that bad. We walked out and gave our business to Shore Restaurant.

Always a dependable a great time. Wait was much shorter than they thought and service was the best.

First time here and I was delighted! The food was delicious, they even had good vegetarian options for me, and the drinks were good too. The pimento cheese dip is a must and I really enjoyed the charred veggie tacos with guac.

It was very busy but the service was still smooth and friendly. We’ll definitely be returning!

Visiting Austin with some friends and stumbled upon this restaurant. Love this place! Great outdoor seating, food was so good and service was spot on! Will be back!

Food was great. Portions were great for the price. Waiter was very courteous and very helpful with his ecperiences with the food.

First time here. Menu was a little bit strange with the toppings and the garnish but the food was great! Got a chicken dish with stuffed crab and pesto which was tasty. The vegetables had cucumbers and squash (not my favorites) with green beans but were better than I expected. The crab dip appetizer was different and delicious. We ate "outside" in a connected room which wasn't really outside (had walls) and the server was also a bartender but she did a great job.

Loved our server, super funny and attentive. Awesome lady! Food was great and we were seated fast as a table of 9 with no reservation. As a heads-up, they do not take same day reservations, but they take reservations in advance.

Awesomeness! Our servers were fantastic, happy to be there, keep the tea flowing, made sure all was well. Food was fresh, hot when served, and delicious ️

We had a big party of 15ppl. The service was great. Food was delicious. Everyone that worked therewas so nice.

Food and service are excellent. If your Lucy enough to get Joseph your night will be even better the he made our Anniversary the best with a really cool personality, panache.

The food is normally good but I was Disappointed in our recent visit.

We placed our Curbside Pickup Order before they opened to have an order ready at 11: 15am. We arrived early and parked in the designated "Curbside Pickup" parking spaces. We texted the curbside pickup number as both the sign and the website had recommend and then waited. At 11: 35 I call the phone number to see if there is any delay with the order. The phone number was disconnected.

I walked inside and asked the hostess for my food and also asked if they were having issues with the Curbside Pickup/To-Go phone number. 10 minutes later a server comes out and explains that there is no one doing To-Go or Curbside and my order had been sitting there getting cold. No further explanation was given as she quickly hurried off.

I'm not holding it against the staff. I'm sure they're working very hard and were doing their best considering staffing shortages.

I am however disappointed in management. This seems like something that could easily be solvable:

If you don't have someone working To-Go or Curbside Pickup; leave a sign in the designated parking spots that customers will need to come inside for their orders. Simple as that.

If you DO have someone working Curbside Pickup; please make sure the phone is working and you don't leave your customers waiting.

Ravioli seasonal dish was exceptional! All the flavors popped! Paired nicely with a Malbec.

Mediocre at best, dishes were reasonably priced in the high teens to mid 20s, restaurant was clean and simply decorated. However food was nothing special, and nothing on the menu was some thing that I would recommend coming back for. Staff was OK and friendly, bathrooms were clean. Overall the only word that I can use to describe this was mediocre.

Our waiter was so very attentive, he answered all of our questions, kept our drinks full all evening. We never had to look or wait for him to come to the table. He offered suggestions and told us his favorites. It was a really enjoyable visit. I didnt catch our servers name, but I cant think him enough for the experience I had at dinner tonight.

Very good food and excellent service. Ate at tge inside bar and the bartenders were great! Had the bacon wrapped quail and grilled fish tacos! Had Treaty Oak Ghost Hill Neat and in an Old Fashioned. Excellent!
