Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant, Helotes TX

It was bad. They rushed us and swept trash to our side of the table. We arrived at 1: 00 pm they seemed to be wanting to end their shift and ignored us to keep sweeping the floors. I had to get up from the table and get coffee myself. The tacos had dried meat, they give you two salsas, a green and a red in little 1oz cups thinking is going to be all you use. Expect to have to ask for chips and salsa. And be charged for everything extra. They brought my food and almost 5 minutes later my girlfriend’s food. AWFUL SERVICE. AWFUL FOOD. AWFUL PEOPLE. I went 03/03/2021.1: 00pm/13: 00

Both myself and coworkers stopped dining in, and only order takeout occasionally. I’ve recently ordered takeout because their tacos are a bit bigger than before, so that’s a plus. I’m giving it one star only because some of the food is good, but customer service is horrible. The few times I’ve ordered takeout lady will answer “ Hello” like it’s a residence and not a business. She also asked if I spoke Spanish while she is clearly speaking English. I’m sorry but this restaurant is located in Helotes, so I feel employees should be able to speak/understand some English. She then reads back order and adds tacos I never ordered.mind you, it’s ONLY 6 tacos and not a difficult order. I wish businesses would understand they are in business because of customers. Bottom line, During this pandemic businesses are at high risk of losing their business and should do their best in providing the best service possible.

I used to really love this restaurant and the food quality was great. I would of rated it five stars before but now their quality of food has definitely a bland/salty disappointment. Their service is at a below par quality. It seems like the wait staff there definitely do not take pride in their work nor the happiness of their customers. They are not consistent in their food quality nor their service towards their customers. I used to be a regular here and one who would of highly recommend and stood by their quality. Now if I do go there I’m scared that the people I’m with will be disappointed in my choice of food. So I am now choosing to no longer get my food from there nor my family as well.

Loved their food but they can get carried away with the salt. If you don't mind that at all, then you'll like their bean and cheese tacos.

The steak fajitas, empanadas, refried beans were all delicious. The steak fajitas were absolutely incredible. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. But the service was AWFUL. Our food came one plate at a time, leaving some sitting staring at their food getting cold while others waited to get theirs. Our waitress never came back to the table after she brought our food, not to ask how the food was, or to refill our drinks, or anything else. I had to flag down another waitress to get a to-go box. And we never DID get our check. We had to go to the register and tell her what we'd ordered to pay.
All in all, our lunch was delicious, but based on the service, I can't recommend this restaurant, which is a shame.

Poor example of Tex-Mex. Chorizo con papas es no sabroso. The carne guisado was; strange tasting.

Best ever tender & juicy chicken fajita meat. The breakfast tacos are the biggest in town! They have a daily lunch special and Mon- fri. 3 breakfast tacos 2.99 6: 00-9: 00 am

This place needs better CUSTOMER SERVICE! Waitresses are not friendly AT ALL! Barbacoa had a weird taste chicharon taco was not soft.just bad experience over all! Here's a tip be more friendly and attend to your tables more often it wasn't even that busy!

Please treat your employees with dignity and respect. Don't take advantage of them especially the females.so sad to hear about the recent problem and no one to help your employee shame on you

I always order 20 mins ahead.when I arrive I always waiting 10 mins of more and my order still be wrong. I don’t like refried beans (not their beans just in general) yet they still put it there. Other than that the place is great. The tea could be more like tea instead of sugar water with a hint of tea, sometimes it taste like unsweetened tea. I guess that just needs more consistency And if they can’t, just allow the customers to swap.

I love Jalapeños, great food, great staff. They will go out of their way to ensure you leave happy.

Never tried this place. I'm not a traditional breakfast eater, eggs just don't call out to me. Ordered the tortilla soup for breakfast, I know for breakfast? But it was really good and I dont think I will be hungry all day until dinner. Gave 4 stars because I haven't tried anything else yet, but will be back to see what's up.

Love this place! Amazing experience and customer service! As soon as we walk in we were greeted with a smile and the staff is super friendly. Food is all made from scratch, top quality, and very reasonable priced. I would recommend it to everyone. You got to try the mini-tacos plate is just delicious.

Delicious, authentic Mexican food! I love getting the crispy taco plate with a horchata. Every time I’ve been in the wait staff is always very friendly and quick.

We ordered the monterrey chicken plate from this restaurant, among other things, and I got pork instead of chicken. Because it was a door dash order I wasn’t able to take it back but I am highly disappointed in this. Barbacoa was ok, Nachos were good however, we will not be ordering from them again.
