I had a pre Birthday Celebration Talk about Tooooo Much Fun! I'm so Grateful. Mr and my Family had a wonderful time. We will be going back! The live Band so wonderful Blessings was received!

This place never disappointed! The food was always so dang amazing. The people were always so friendly, funny and just a pleasure to be around. I really miss this restaurant.

Ok, not all Jamaican dishes are spicy! My oxtails did fall off the bone. Variety of authentic dishes I'll return for next time. I was there for my birthday celebration. Non-Stop Reggae music! The atmosphere was "pleasing" with good A/C space, and I happened to catch karaoke night @7. But the best part of the dinner was DJ, our host, who served us. Professional and accurate with our orders great customer service. Make sure you ask for DJ and tip him well. Family planning bi-mthly visits.

My Oxtails were as usual deeeelicious. But the vegetables were spoiled. I got my order to-go and left it on our kitchen counter for about an hour before ate it. I'm very surprised they spoiled so soon our house has a very good AC system so it wasn't hot in the home. My beef patty was tasty.

After a few years of staying away. I should have done that. Ordered the oxtails some were tender but a few were tough. The meat was not as tasty (seasoning was not good). Not worth it at all

I’ve been here a few times throughout the years. One area that’s been consistent is portions but unfortunately the quality and flavors have gone down. The dish in the photo is their Jamaican Curry Chicken with rice and peas, steamed cabbage, and a beef patty. The flavors were not bold and authentic like I know Jamaican food to be - I was a bit disappointed. Two positives is that the beef patty was amazing and there was live music as I waited for my order. This establishment definitely knows how to create a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Update: I must admit that I have been there twice since my original review and the service have definitely improved no complaints. Our waiter was very attentive and he was so pleasant. Much respect to the chef as well because I have not ever been disappointed all the years I have been patronizing this establishment. Jamaica Gates is a must if you're wanting delicious authentic Jamaican food.

Best tasting and authentic Jamaican food in DFW hands down. Don't go there expecting Top Notch service it's not what you're going to get but the place is a Vibe and you will get good food. I refer a lot of people there and frequent the restaurant several times a year with friends and my experience every time is always Pleasant. However, I have noticed that their portion size has significantly decrease over the past couple years or so particularly the rice now you get one lickle cup of rice on the plate. Plate presentation is nice and everything but I'm not here for presentation give me the food Lol.

I wasn’t aware of the fine food. Excellent and does not disappoint. You would do yourself a disservice by not trying this place out. Very very good!

We went to lunch here on a Sunday afternoon for the first time. This is one of my new favorite restaurants! We walked in and the hostess let us pick where we wanted to sit. We got the pineapple soda and Jamaican tea. The tea was delicious as for the soda. We order the trio appetizer. Their wings are by far some of the best I’ve ever had. The jerk shrimp was amazing and the plantains were cooked to perfection. I ordered the jerk chicken and it was the most delicious chicken ever and huge amount. Girlfriend order the Kingston trio with oxtails that melted in your mouth, goat curry and the jerk pork that was great especially if you like that extra kick. The cabbage is amazing and the rice was cooked perfectly. The cook came out and ask us how we liked it and I could do nothing but smile and shake his hand and let him know he’s going to have some new regulars. This place is amazing with a great atmosphere. A must go to restaurant!

Love the food, service and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the band was spectacular! Coleen gave absolutely amazing service and ensured we had everything we needed. I had the oxtails and my husband had the jerk chicken, both soooooo good! We will be back soon!

The best food by far! We were visiting from out of town and we ran up on this gem. The atmosphere, service, food, and vibe were great! You most definitely have to try them.

Great service and great environment! I lived in South Florida for some years and the food is definitely not consistent with true Jamaican food. Very authentic just flavors of all dishes are watered down. Almost to cater to Americans. Look around and if you do not see Jamicans eating there or ordering out it's not authentic. Now the Jamaican punch will put you on your butt. I was shocked and I drink.

The food Was Amazing, my dad owns a restaurant back in Cleveland so eating here I had high expectations & they were met. The oxtails were definitely my favorite part of the meal. && the workers really make sure your enjoying your time and food. The vibes were amazing and wish I could’ve stayed longer to here the dj. Every time I’m on this side of the equator I’ll be here.

Being from the Caribbean I must say the food was very mid. I tried it twice and that was enough for me.
