I am a first time home buyer, and I recently closed on a new construction home in the Greater Houston Area.
I began this near 7 month journey with another mortgage lender. 5 weeks away from close my former mortgage lender had not locked in my interest rate, had not submitted my loan through underwriting, and went nearly 3 weeks without following up on questions I had. He became evasive, and put my home & earnest money in jeopardy to say the least. I had no choice, but to change lenders late into my deal.
