Always great to get away with our dogs and the camper for a few days. Weather was cool and windy but it's that time of year.

A beautiful place to hike and camp. We will definitely be staying at the RV campground again! The daily rate is super affordable and the facilities are consistently clean.

Really nice natural park all around the lake, about 26 miles worth. Good hiking, tough cycling. Jim Hogg has camping for RV, and tents. Dump station at exit. Corp of engineers lake, so no private land around lake.

An interesting COE campground in that it's located on the edge of suburbia. Makes for an easy run for groceries or a haircut or whatever. The sites are paved but not all very level. The thing I found most odd was the distance between the RV site and the picnic table/pavilion. Something that I should have mentioned in all my reviews of COE campgrounds is the almost universal good nature of the attendants at these places.

Beautiful place to relax, the views are wonderful and the attention at the entrance of the park is very friendly, I want to return soon

I have been camping there for about a year, the park is very nice and the park hosts are always helpful and nice.

I can't say enough GREAT THINGS about this park. We had trouble with 1 of our sites the first night (bee infestation) and the wonderful people on duty moved that group to another site that was still right by us! I could go on and on with all the great help they gave us, but I don't have enough space. I'll just say the campgrounds were beautiful, the park was so clean (esp.the restrooms) and my WHOLE FAMILY had a BLAST for my birthday trip and we'll DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN. WOULD GIVE 100 *'S if it would let me. Tysvm for making my 56th birthday trip AMAZING

Needed to be mowed the weeds were over 2 feet tall and it was just not that pretty except for the entrance.

I really feel like the site could be maintained better.

Went there to go camping with some friends and the camp sites were uncomfortably close. From our camp site I could see 7 other tents standing in one place and the two next to us were about 30 feet away. (If you both put tents on adjacent sides of the camp site your tents would literally be right next to etchother.) There was just no privacy which was so odd because there were large portions of the camping area totally unused. You could hear everything the people next to you said which killed the feeling of being out in nature.

The grounds themselves really needed work. They did have a nice covered table setup with a grill but the ground was unlevel and really rocky. Even tons of small rocks that could have been cleaned up in 10 minutes. I was glad some of my friends did not show up because tent placement was a struggle even after accepting our tent would be uncomfortably close to the strangers next to us.

I felt like with a small bit of effort the place could have been really nice. Many of the sites were right next to the lake and if they had trimmed out a hand full of trees the view would have been incredible. Even the trees on the site were growing in all sorts of messed up ways and had obviously not been properly cared for.

The site did have access to drinking water and had a functioning bathroom. Its worth mentioning during a burn ban (Such as as I write this in September of 2022) they do not allow uncovered fires so you need one of those large metal screen covers for your fire. They oddly allowed us to have a fire in the BBQ grill which was pretty amusing though.

All in all its just not the best place to go camping. If you choose this location scout your campsite first and accept that you may have another group partying until 4am 20 feet away from you.

Nice park, has been full both time’s I’ve visited.

Spots have distance between them so your neighbors won’t be right on top of you.

I recommend for Georgetown area.

No one taking care of the place. Volunteers drive by but don’t stop. Drug needles in bathroom. Grass is over grown. Check in is online…. No one there to talk to.

Well the water and electricity hookups worked with no problems, thankful for that. But access to the water was a bit difficult and the water level was quite low, as is the case with all the Texas lakes I've been to this summer. All in all, not one of my favorite parks but it'll do in a pinch.

I like Jim Hogg Park because it's on lake Georgetown. Any of the parks on lake Georgetown are great to go to weather you are swimming, kayaking, launching a boat, or just wanna hang out and have a picnic at the lake. This park specifically is one of my favorites because it's so close to my house and it's not as busy as other parks on the lake.sometimes.
Check it out. You're gonna love it!

Love this place! Fishing is ok but people and views are amazing! Great lake for kayaks also! Be careful with children and always use life jackets. There are some banks that drop off into 55 ft. Water very quickly.
