Jimmie's, Cleburne TX

I’ve eaten at Jimmie’s several times and they never disappoint. My most recent experience was on New Year’s Eve and I couldn’t have been happier with the excellent service and the quality of food. My ribeye was cooked perfectly, and their knowledgeable bartender, Amanda, helped me pair it with the perfect Merlot. This place is my favorite restaurant in the Cleburne area! Highly recommend!

The bison steak was big and cooked perfectly. The seared tuna was great. The dessert was also good.

We love Jimmie’s! This was our second year to attend for the NYE dinner. They had a full house, but despite the crowd we still had a wonderful meal! We stayed at the bar following our 7 pm reservation and had a great time trying new drinks.
It’s obvious when you go that Jimmie and Amanda work hard to provide a good experience for everyone. We always feel welcome and among friends. We will be back soon!

Unorganized, Unprepared - Unacceptable
I went to Jimmie's on New Year's Eve (7: 00 seating) to celebrate with three others. We made our menu selection on line 5 days prior. The reservation was accepted. It didn't go well. We arrived early but were all left standing by the door waiting for one table of guests from the 5: 00 seating to leave which was sometime after 7: 00. We were finally seated about 7: 15. The restaurant was crowded but there were empty tables. After 10 minutes someone came by and filled two water glasses and then disappeared. We had to ask to have the other glasses filled. We order drinks. The salad arrived in very small bowls. The meatball appetizers (which were good) were served in tiny plastic fruit cups. Strange. After 30 minutes, we asked about our drinks and were told that they had forgotten about them. When they brought them out, the wine was a very uneven pour using two different shaped glasses. We were among the last to be served our food. Two of us ordered tuna steak. We were served sea bass with no explanation. We asked the waitress about it and the owner came out and told us that they didn't have the tuna. We ordered in advance, obviously they gave our meal to someone else. The owner offered other options but we didn't want to wait another twenty minutes since our companions had already received their meals. Finally, the menu stated that there was a selection of desserts included in the price. The waitress told us that only banana pudding was available. All of us declined save one. And, they ran out of Pinot Noir. We were offered no compensation for any of this.
Poor job Jimmie's.

Jimmies is a quaint family owned business that has never disappointed us. The food has always exceeded my expectations and is on par with any DFW restaurant. If you are in the Cleburne area on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, look them up. They are well worth the visit.

Amazing food, service, and ambiance. Started with the jalapeño poppers with goat cheese. So good! We then had the bison sirloin with truffle butter and Mahi Mahi with garlic butter, paired with mashed potatoes and squash. Perfect. We finished with the most delicious chocolate fudge cake topped with vanilla ice cream. I don’t know that I’ve ever had better cake in my life…and I’m from the south! Christina was our waitress and she was knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. Will definitely be going back for another date night.

Your response to my husband's review of your restaurant's performance on New Year's Eve was self-serving. Even though it was a very good dinner, all four of us were very disappointed in the overall performance of your staff and the presentation of the food. (a salad served in a 3" square cup and meatballs in a tiny fruit cup?) Especially considering the high dollar set price. You should think about how you can improve all the many problems of that night, if you want to ever attempt another two-seating reservation. "Buying us desserts" that we already paid for, won't be necessary. We will not be returning.

Food was top notch. All staff was amazing found my new spot for a date night with the wife.

We love going to Jimmie’s for a date night! We have been coming to eat here since we moved back to Johnson County from the TCU area in Fort Worth. My husband and I were thrilled when we found this hidden gem in the heart of downtown Cleburne. We loved going out in FTW and we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered the food at Jimmie’s rivaled some of the best in the metroplex. Jimmie and Amanda have done a fantastic job of creating a fine dining experience close to home. We love what you are doing and will continue to support your business!

Our waitress has been incredible every time we've had dinner there. I wish I could remember her name because she transforms the menu into an experience. She completely knows the menu and wine pairings and has been so helpful helping us decide which wines and sides would pair the best.

Jimmie's is amazing! We had seared tuna in a giant salad as an appetizer along with the most amazing grilled lamb ribs with an amazing glaze.

Next, I had baked halibut and my bf had the tomahawk with a garlic butter. His was a perfect medium. My halibut was cooked perfectly. Last time I had the seabass with truffle butter and it was the best fish I've ever had. I'd highly recommend that. Seriously incredible.

We stayed for cake the first time from Moms kitchen which is inside Jimmie's and this time took cake to go. My daughter and friend ate it so fast because it is absolutely delicious. I had white cake with chocolate frosting last time and it was the best cake I've ever had!

Edited to add: NYE here was the absolute best! Drinks and atmosphere are amazing. We got there at 9pm and welcomed the New Year with Jimmie and his beautiful wife Amanda. We had some light bites and as always the food is heavenly. Guests are treated like family and we've always been met by Jimmie every single time we've been there. This time was no exception and we can't wait to go back! We hope to spend next NYE there because all the guests were so much fun and we had a blast! Visit this hidden gem and you will not be disappointed.

I was so excited to join friends there for New Year’s Eve. It was very disappointing. We were not offered drinks until after our appetizers were served. I have waited on tables, bartended and I understand to complexity’s of serving. You were under staffed and Ill prepared for 2 seatings. I enjoyed the restaurant prior to that experience and doubt my husband would come back after our experience On that night.

Kristina was a wonderful navigator of all things fabulously delicious. She was quick, informed and personable. The appetizer came quickly, dinner shortly after that. The food was excellent. We will RETURN!

My son and I accidentally came across
this amazing restaurant while passing through Cleburne one night. This place would be the perfect date night place to go or any other occasion. The atmosphere and vibe were great. I loved the music they played and the staff were professional and friendly. The food was incredible. We had this stuffed mushroom with crab, which we savored like a fine wine, slowly enjoying every bite. Then we had the most mouth-watering steak, creamed spinach, salmon, and asparagus. I've had a lot of steak and salmon, but both were taken to a new level of amazing. After that, we could not resist finding out what the chef would do with the dessert, so we had the caramelized pound cake with strawberries and fresh amazing whip cream. It was one of those meals I will never forget because it was so exceptional. It was quite a happy accident. Honestly, if I met a chef who could cook like that, I would marry him. It's a small limited menu that changes, but I would trust the chef's judgment.
I'm sure everything there is amazing.

Came here with my office staff for Christmas party for the first time! Food was very delicious- I had a Glazed Salmon dish with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts! Props to the cook and his restaurant staff! Definitely will be back!

We enjoyed date night here tonight. The vibe is unique and easy going. I loved it. Our bacon wrapped sausage with goat cheese and apricot preserves was a great start. My grilled broccoli was the best I’ve had. No complaints on anything. We had a filet, bison sirloin, garlic pasta and side salad as well. We finished with the lemon blueberry cake. And to our surprise it was lite and not overly sweet (which I’m totally fine with). Go support this local quaint restaurant. You won’t be disappointed. To top it off, it was nice meeting Jimmie!
