Jim's Restaurants, Austin TX

In all my years of living here I never tried this place. It doesn’t appeal to the eye from the outside. But believe me this was good old fashioned diner food here. Service was friendly. The menu selection is good for whatever time of day you visit. People knocking this place are delusional and wouldn’t know what good food is if it hit ‘‘em in the face

The food brought back old memories of true diner food. The waitress was a little off. Our order had a couple of mistakes. But the friendliness and atmosphere made up for it.

Food was dry and flavorless. The restaurant was not clean. Floors dirty and desperately needed to be vacuumed. The staff was very friendly.

Liver and onions with green beans and fried okra. Well prepared and tasty. Good price. Country food with vegetables!

I didn't like the atmosphere because they are very racist and discriminate against Latinos.
For being Latino they give you a bad service.

Typical greasy spoon, in a good way. If you want to eat breakfast comfort food it's a great place to go. The service is typically very fast and friendly. It does tend to be a little crowded and loud.

The best dinner in Austin. Every time we walk in, we feel so welcomed. And today, Michele is our waitress. She is whole heartedly there for us. We also see other waiter and waitress, Ginger and Mario. Mario canes over and greeted with us too. It makes you feel this is a good routine.

Me and my family came to sit down at this place and, while we was eating it was a cockroach on the table. The food and service was alright though. It felt dirty being here and we won't be returning.

Good classic diner with decent American food at a decent price. The patty melt is my favorite.

I grew up going to Jims in San Antonio. This place has always had consistent food and friendly staff. The place looks like hell though. Not in "We meant for it to look like this" but more in a "we haven't put any money into this place since 1995" kind of way.

Good, inexpensive diner food. My first visit to this Jim's, but I've eaten at another one for 15 years and this one is just as good.

Its old school atmosphere and old school menu; but nice and tasty old school food.and it's cheap! Wait staff are nice but can be a little scattered?

The restaurant was that full, and the couple ahead of us was already waiting to be seated, and waited for at least another 5 minutes. We also were made to wait another 5 to 10 minutes, and before that no one even acknowledged us.

Place was full when we got there, wait time was about 20 minutes. If it wasn't for the service then I would've given them 5 stars. Food was great, pancakes were fluffy and pork chops were tasteful. Had to ask twice for refill on coffee and tea and the third time I didn't get it. Lots of our food was forgotten even after asking for it. Will go again to different site just for the good and hopefully better service.

It's an iconic diner chain. This location has gotten some love since my last visit. The food is good for what it is. Service was not great, but we had the impression that she might have been new. Breakfast is your best bet.
