Closed for renovating. Wouldn't let us use the bathroom. Sent us back to the parking lot to the nastiest porta pottys we've ever seen with zero TP. We couldn't use them. Had to leave the Japanese Gardens after just a few minutes. We planned our entire 30th anniversary for this restaurant and the Japanese Gardens. We were very sad

If you like gardens and landscapes, this one is fantastic! Koi, a waterfall, and several paths. Incredible architecture.

Staff is very rude. Won't let you in without a mask and didn't even offer me one. Then the couple after me didn't have a mask and she offered them masks to come in. Tea didn't look that good anyways.

Not real bubble tea! There's weird things floating around from the bubbles. Definitely old. Not worth the price! The food looks old, produce is definitely past its date. They make you wear a mask even though I am fully vaccinated. The cheesecake it very thin and overpriced. Looks like boxed nobake jello cheesecake.

The manager in this restaurant is very disrespectful. I went with my family on Sunday and unfortunately some of us forgot to bring our masks. However, one of the workers assisted for us to come in since they can give us masks inside. As soon as we were stepping in, the manager rushed her way to us yelling to put on our masks and directing us to leave. My brother corrected the whole miscommunication with her and informed her that we UNDERSTOOD about the mask policy. However, when we were going to sit down at a table the tables were disgusting and the restaurant was uncleaned. So, we decided to leave because she made it obvious it was uncomfortable for her for us even being there. I don't understand how she can be so strict with the mask policy but yet lacks santinizing the areas where people sit down and eat. Bad business.

My boyfriend and I shared the veggie sushi roll and the chicken noodle bowl and both were very delicious. Food was a little pricey but the experience was worth it!

Food was fine, but astronomically expensive for the portion you receive. Was nothing special and wouldn't eat here again. The tea gardens are the real show.

Food was overpriced and not of very good quality. The bubble tea was very odd. The bubbles had a a very dough like texture, and the mochi cakes that weren't even the size of my palm costed $5.50 each!

Delicious food! They were a little understaffed, so it took a little bit. But once we got it, it was heaven. The tea was to DIE FOR!

Not only is there nothing special about their bland noodle bowls (soup, in case you were expecting something else) or ordinary tea that happened to have boba in it, the items are overpriced and the staff were rude about using the restrooms - making us wait unnecessarily long time in line only to discover that several spaces were available downstairs. The gardens themselves are amazing, just be sure to avoid this tourist trap.

Tea was good but don't bother with the binto boxes. Salad was good, sushi fell apart before i could even pick it up, chicken and beef entrees both taste like they were poured out of a can. Noodles side was sitting in a half inch of water. Won't eat here again.

Staff were not very friendly. Ordered matcha chai which wasn't chai but just matcha and milk. You better really like the taste of matcha. The red bean candy was the best part.

We walked around the Japanese Tea Garden and ate inside to cool off. I had the goji tea which was great. I had the vegetarian bento box. I believe it to be vegan as well. There was squash, zucchini and carrots in a sweet teriyaki sauce. There was rice noodles in similar sauce. A small salad with ginger dressing and a seaweed salad atop cucumbers. Then 2 pieces of vegan sushi. It was pretty good. The gentleman at the counter were very friendly.

Beautiful place inside the tea garden. The tea is the best the Boba pearls are delicious. Beautiful place to take anyone on a date if you want to impress.

The tea is delicious and the men working behind the counter were the perfect, kindest gentlemen we could’ve hoped to encounter. The owner, an older woman, was watching the door like a hawk. My friend and I each bought a tea and went to eat salads we brought with us to eat at their picnic tables outside and we were informed that if we wanted to eat other food that we’d have to go to the picnic area across the street, even though we were paying customers. The other annoying factor was that there were 3 empty tables and no other customers in line.why not just let us sit? Poor customer service. Ruined the experience.

Outdoor seat only.
We quite enjoy the view in the Japanese garden and the quality of the bento boxes. Chicken bento was far better than beef one. The jasmine green tea was good but the boba was not chewy at all.

The legacy the Jingu family left San Antonio is truly a beautiful gift that I hope is never forgotten. The tea gardens are a treasure and the Jingu house offers tasty teas and finger foods.
