1 I am writing in response to a follow up on my husbands behalf. He was sent for a consult from Pulmonology for a "Chronic productive Cough". Stress test and echo ordered and completed. Echo with concerning findings. We were told there would be an explanation, and after a detailed message was sent in "my chart" and a detailed vmail to nurse, he did receive a call that reported "all test results normal", no follow up till November. Every question my husband ask was responded with a sarcastic response.
So my questions are, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO PATIENT CENTERED CARE?
PATIENT'S HAVE RIGHTS, PATIENT'S CAN ASK QUESTIONS AND IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE RESPONSE BE PROFESSIONAL.
One way to help alleviate this kind of review is to SIT DOWN AND ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THE PATIENT, BE ENGAGED AND DO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS WITH SARCASM!
