JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria

From the moment you walk in they make you feel like Royalty. We had chosen a different Marriott location and we were not aware we in the correct location. So i figured we are here we might as well stay here we already here. Unfortunately the Marriott do not transfered from hotel to hotel. So they advised to call and see what the other location says about cancelling last minute. The other location was very understanding and gave a courtesy. We then checked in and give. A huge discount price for being Military. They surely do appreciate our service to our country. When we went to the room everything was nice, neat, and very clean. Again I felt like Royalty. The sheets, comforters were exceptionally comfortable. I slept like a baby. Oh and did I forget to mention they waived our parking fee as well. This is by far the best Marriott i have ever stayed at. I will surely come by the next time I am in Houston.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a place. This site will compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of my favorites in the area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't regret it.

Accomodations are great handicap parking not a available to handicap parking for handicap were all taken y cars with no handicap plates or stickers

There were a number of problems with my room, consistent with what seems to be Marriott's decline in attention to detail.

My room had only one small window and the curtain was broken, meaning I'd have no natural light. The front desk ensured me they would fix it while I was out all day but that did not happen. Finally an engineer attempted a fix that kept the curtain up (see photo of curtain draw chain).

The food was marginal. Numerous mistakes with my two orders. The "roasted cauliflower" is fried, for example.

There were a number of small issues with the room - cabinet door off hinge, wood rot near fridge (see photos).

For a JW Marriott, supposedly a high-end Marriott brand, this hotel misses the mark.

This hotel is located right across the street from the galleria so we were able to walk to the mall. The service was very poor considering it was a 4.5 star hotel. There was no porter out front to help get luggage. I asked the gentlemen out front and he said I had to go around to the parking garage and I could use the elevator in the parking garage to bring my luggage up. Fast forward about 15 minutes and I saw the gentlemen helping another couple with their bags. I them asked the gentlemen upon checking it about that and he said they used to have someone to do that before COVID but he was not sure if they still had someone to do it (and you work at the front desk). Also, when I arrived to check in, I was told I did not have reservations there but I could pay for a room because they did have availability. I told him I did and He said he was not showing me arriving until the next day. I showed him my confirmation email and he left to go ask and then came back after minutes and said they figured out the problem. They offered nothing for my wait or trouble. Nothing. Upon getting to my room, I had a problem with my toilet. It seemed to require 2-3 flushes after each use. This stay did not seem like we were staying in a 4.5 star resort.

Comfortable beds, well maintained property, courteous and friendly staff, clean and uncrowdedb5th floor indoor / outdoor pool, modern spacious, well equipped fitness center. Plenty of places to relax and read or talk in common areas. Good bar with decent snacks menu. Right across the street from Galleria gigantic mall. Close to other central Houston attractions. Quick and efficient valet car staff. They clean room every day without special prompting which is becoming more special and rare these days. Classy place, on the corporate looking side but was great for our family of five too.

Excellent location and service! As a platinum elite member for many years, JW marriott has always been providing top standard services and amenities around the global. The Executive Lounges really made us feel rewarded. Definitely worth it!

Great location, literally across the street from the mall. Issue is they charge for everything. Parking is $25 for salt parking and $39 for valet each day. You have to pay for wifi if you aren't a bonvoy member. The hotel is beautiful still recommend just be prepared to be slightly nickel and dimed

Great hotel and service, but beware that they get your bill right. If you have to go back to them for corrections, it's a nightmare.

It was hot (ac issues) but the manager called and took care of the situation. Will stay again for sure. Original review was pretty harsh, understandably.

Nice location next to galleria. Executive lounge had limited hours and choices but the woman working there was really nice.
Hotel is getting a little run down but ok.

The room is small for 2 adults and 2 teens. Parking is difficult at best. The indoor - outdoor pool wasn't worth it. The gym was great. In all overpriced, not the best value.

The breakfast is boring. They don’t have breakfast buffet yet. Breakfast is serving in togo box.
Breakfast: Scramble egg, sausage or bacon, cereal, milk, juice, some banana and apple

Friendly staff, clean rooms
Parking is expensive.

Gym is clean and has allot of machines to work out on.

Location is close to allot of things.
