Kathmandu Curry and Bar reviews
16We enjoyed Kathmandu, they have a long menu with plenty of variety. The pani puri, chilli paneer and pina colada were our favorites. The momos are one of their featured items, we ordered them steamed. They were freshly made, but we found the dough to be thick and too much coriander in the filling. We plan to return to try some other items on their menu.
We have been here several times now in the past few months and we love it. We dined in first time and other times we ordered online and picked it up. We love their chowmein noodles the most and the vegetarian option costs about $12. The momos are okay - we ordered that a couple of times, $10, but we don't buy it anymore. The restaurant is very neat and clean, clean rest room, courteous staff - it's a good restaurant overall.
Veg Fried rice, veg Manchurian, veg steam momos, veg jhol momos, veg chili momos, paneer makhani, naan, chowmein are the items which we tried. Chili momos, naan n chowmein was more good for our taste buds.
First of all loved the ambiance. Food here is just so amazingly delicious. Not to mention the size of the momo is just a cherry on top. Totally would recommend everyone. All thanks to my friend for suggesting us this place.
Lastly the kheer here made me remember those puja days back in Nepal.
Having visited Kathmandu Curry multiple times, my experience has consistently been exceptional. The warm and family-friendly atmosphere, coupled with the friendly owner's personal touch, creates a welcoming environment. The diverse menu features standout dishes like the flavorful Goat Choila, Paneer Chilly, and the Kids Menu with Chicken Lollipops, providing a delightful culinary adventure.
The popular Momos, with their thin, perfectly steamed wrappers and flavorful fillings, are a must-try. The drink selection complements the diverse menu, adding a refreshing touch to the overall dining experience. Kathmandu Curry in Houston is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary gem that seamlessly blends authentic Nepali flavors, warm hospitality, and a memorable atmosphere, making each visit a cherished journey through Nepali cuisine.
The chili goat momos were one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted! Pani puri was incredibly fresh, light and delicious! Authentic, well priced, large portions, fantastic food and service! Customer for life now.
Had an excellent evening here after hearing about the momos from multiple friends! The Pani Poori was so fresh, simple, and authentic.
We tried the more Nepali style combo plate, Newari Platter, and enjoyed every bite. Will absolutely return for more! Had to finish with Rasmalai, of course (My Favorite!).
I have tried Nepalese food in NYC and loved it but the food here is at another level amaizing glorious super fresh balanced and the service was extremely caring and kind. I would give it 7 stars if I could can’t wait to come back
I don’t really like this place they don’t know how to respect to customers…. And not good food
Very cute place, nicely decorated. The waitstaff, Junu was extremely kind and helpful, she answered all of our questions. The food (Chili Momo, Kathmandu curry, Naan, mix Chow mein) was wonderful- just don’t try the milk tea, it’s bad LOL. Overall great experience, would definitely come back soon!
Great service and amazing food, absolutely exceeded our expectations.
Ask for Junu as a server, kindly and lovely girl.
The restaurant was empty and the service was really slow. Appetizers took really long time and food came out 50 minutes after ordering. Flavor on food was not good at all. Even worst the Nan was dry and hard. Definitely do not come here if you are on lunch brake. Very disappointed.
The restaurant is located on the strip mall, thus there is plenty of parking. Came here for lunch on the weekend. Though I was the first customer (20mins after their opening time), people came in fast after 10mins after me.
I had the steamed goat momo, lamb chops, and butter chicken with garlic naan. The goat momo was delicious. The proportion of dumpling skin to meat was great. The meat was seasoned well. The lamb chops came out sizzling out. I asked for medium temperature on my meat, and I got medium. The lamb was seasoned perfectly, and the meat was so tender. The butter chicken was a slight disappointment. The gravy was too sweet, but the chicken was cooked right. The garlic naan was fluffy and yummy. All my food came out piping out, and service was good.
Restaurant is clean, and decor is simple and nice. There are televisions at every corner that broadcast different channels. The restaurant has a good atmosphere. I would come back for the momo for sure.
We loved this restaurant, but lately quality is getting worse. The already bad service is also getting worse! We used to love the thupka and momos, but the veg momos were bland, almost sweet! The sauces have been “just bitter not spicy”. The thupka quantity is almost half of what it used to be and very watery soup. The service always sucked even when the food was good. We ordered or ate here 2 times/week but slowly not wanting to. Food is overpriced for the quality and quantity. The servers/ girls are super slow and just chatting up the men on the bar. They are the regulars that we see every time we are there! They just sit there and drink along with the owner. Hey just cater to those and hover around them. It’s a weird “ desi adda” style feeling! It’s sad that they had a good chef but quality is getting bad to worse.
Came to Kathmandu Curry because a friend recommended. The food was excellent. Service was so-so. Not sure if they had a busy Sunday lunch. I would love to come back before the lunch crowd next time.
