Kenedy County Safety Rest Stop reviews
22There were bees EVERYWHERE! My girlfriend got stung while using the restroom. I don't think anybody removes the trash from the cans because it was piled around them. We had to literally run full speed to our car because we walked past a trash can.
Quiet rest stop on the North end of the 60 mile King Ranch desolate drive. Shady and welcoming. Safe!
Pulled in a noon and ate lunch. Very nice clean facilities with colorful mosaic in the restroom. It was 80 when we were there, there is plenty of shade so with the slight breeze it was very pleasant. Only issue could be parking as the facility is located between the north and south bound and serves both. Parking is along parallel with the access road.
On the middle of a 60 mile stretch of nothing but border patrol trucks this was a nice rest stop.
Loved this place! Clean restrooms, nice scenic area for a peaceful little walk to relax my mind and stretch my legs a bit! Lets not forget pet friendly my fur baby HAD A GREAT TIME I WANTED TO LET HER RUN AROUND BUT WAS WORRIED SHE MAY GET STARTLED AND RUN INTO TRAFFIC but she still had fun!
Very nice spot to rest up for a few hours, this are gets packed over night. Overall a very safe spot to reset over night.
Bathrooms were clean and i felt safe stopping there in the middle of the night too.
They have a playground for little kids and even vending machines too.
They also have picnic tables so that you could stop and have a little picnic.
Clean restrooms, good people. The employee takes good care of the building and the ground. GREAT JOB!
Talk about a petrie dish of humanity! Who needs the circus? Come one, come all! Human beings wandering about with no birth records at all!
Like the way they built this off and on really quick to get back on the freeway and get off restrooms are nice and clean
We always stop at this reset stop because it’s convenienet and clean considering the amount of people that come through here, but we hadn’t traveled through here in a while and I know have a one year old child. We stopped here today to change my son’s diaper and I was told by the onsite grounds keeper that the family restroom key was broken so I had to use the ladies room changing station. There Are no other diaper changing stations in the ladies room. -_- I told the groundskeeper there were no changing stations in the ladies room after having changed my son on the bathroom bench but he was on the phone in his truck and kind of just nodded at me so I’m sure he didn’t even know what I said. Not very helpful.
Whoever is in charge of this area needs to ensure that they get a new key for the family restroom and keep spares handy.
It’s not a great feeling or sight for anyone when you’re changing a dirty diaper in front of 20 strangers waiting in line to pee.
I saw several people with small children there so I’m sure I am not the only person that could use a changing station, especially when your car is packed to the brim with travel gear and can’t change the child in the vehicle.
It's good to feel safe when you are on a drive alone and have to stop to go to the restroom. This is a nice well lite up place.
This rest stop is conveniently located right after the border checkpoint. They have clean bathroom facilities, a place to walk your pet, and the new machine to with snacks and drinks. They also have multiple trash cans as well as a outdoor seating area
Beautiful atmosphere. Birds of different colors and variety of plants. Get ready to take pictures!
Decent. Has bathrooms at least unlike any stop labelled "picnic area" in the state of Texas. Apparently you don't need to use the bathroom before or after you eat per the state
One of the nicest Rest area /stops I've been to in a while, very clean. It's in the middle of the road so easy to see and you can stop from either side coming or going very convenient!
Quick stop on the way to South Padre Island. Clean restrooms, dog walking area, picnic benches with covered areas for relaxing. Vending machines available.
Restrooms were super clean I had to go and it was nice and it was well lit it had vending machines tables for picnics and trash cans also seemed pet friendly
Great rest stop. Per friendly, and always very clean to take the kids off for a restroom break.
Umm.how do you rate a rest area? I'd give it a 5 star but there's always someone making a mess.
