Kenz Egyptian, Houston TX

Visiting Houston for 2 months and Kenz was the first place where I ate out. Became a regular ever since. I go there at least twice a week as I know the quality and excellent service are guaranteed, food is consistently delicious, prices are reasonable and I always get a warm welcome! Highly recommended!

I really liked the beef shawarma sandwich. It’s different than a middle eastern one.similar to lamb shawarmas I’ve had in the city but with beef instead.

Looking forward to trying the rice dishes.would recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

A hidden gem with such a warm atmosphere, excellent service and authentic delicious food. The Koshary and rice pudding were just perfect and the tea hit the spot. I am a big dolma fan and theirs is delicious. A must try.

This restaurant is so cozy, has amazing service and delicious food. I went with a group and we tried the tasting platter which included almost every staple Egyptian dish you could try. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating- I wish I had gotten her name. I can’t wait to go back to try more of their delicious food!

Everytime I’m in the Galleria area I have to stop at Kenz for their tasty Mediterranean food. The food, the service and the overall experience is great! I feel so welcomed by everyone when I go. Also, try their Egyptian tea, is delicious!

Amazing food. Found this gem of a restaurant on Yelp and decided to try. Tried many items on the menu and everything was DELICIOUS. Our waitress, Mayar, provided first class service. She took time to explain the dishes to us and also assisted with several recommendations. Will definitely be back. If you go, you will not be disappointed!

Against all odds, we dined at this African restaurant, and we are eternally grateful that we did.
It is a compact dining area that features an exceptional menu and a welcoming, family-like ambiance.
The Egyptian platter was an unforgettable experience and an outstanding selection. Pita, an alternative name for nam bread, was palatable and enhanced the flavor of the egg plant and hummus. The lentil soup is exceptionally gratifying. Due to the persistent influx of food, we unintentionally failed to conduct a tally of the quantity of items presented on the platter. The tea was both invigorating and delectable, and it aided in digestion while the lamb was prepared to perfection.
The conversation with the the owner was intellectually stimulating and entertaining. The way in which he described utilizing the two oils to prepare one of the dishes substantially altered its flavor and overall experience.
We are certain to be returning.

I didn't think I'd find a good authentic Egyptian restaurant but Kenz is solid. Loved the food.

Shawarma was horrible. I have yet to have a good shawarma in Houston and was hoping this place would be good. Chicken was dried out no flavor. Horrible excuse for a meal. Spent $32 on 2 shawarmas wish I could get my money back. Just dry basic with zero favor. Tasted like cardboard

Owner was very kind and welcoming as was the atmosphere. The food was so good and so fresh definitely a must try if you’re in the area!

My wife and I recently ate here and enjoyed the "Authentic Egyptian Experience. " The food was really good, and the service was terrific. There was nothing we did not like, and the price is very reasonable. Just be prepared for a lot of food. Standouts for us were the lentil soup, the mint tea, and the Egyptian national dish. We will be returning.probably this week!

The food is great! We had the Egyptian Experience and literally everything was delicious. One word of caution…pace yourself. There’s probably more food coming. You’re not done until the salmon quesadilla is done.

The staff is great and the atmosphere is eclectic.
