Knox County Westbound Safety Rest Area, Benjamin TX

Very nice rest stop. Restrooms! A historic landmark worth seeing. What a tremendous view in all directions. Texas!

Normally I'd give this a 5 star rating because am very grateful that the rest area was even there. It was also very clean both inside and outside. Nice well maintained grassy area for dogs to do their business too! Having said that, there was zero bath tissue at all and no paper towels or anything so I had to use the stall, then go back to my car to get napkins, and then return to the stall to clean up. Needless to say that wasn't a pleasant experience!

Great rest area in an unexpected location! Clean restrooms with visible attendant, vending machines, and even a tornado shelter.
The state should probably replace the mulberry trees with something more native that will last. But that’s besides the point. A nice place to stop.

One rip: when heading west, the entrance comes up fast around a blind curve… so be prepared!

Excellent job at keeping this place clean. Felt safe there. Every time I have stopped there, it's been clean and a maintenance person was on location. Even in the middle of the night.

This has to be the cleanest rest area I’ve ever seen. I’ve stopped here multiple times and it is always clean. Great scenic picture opportunity.

Clean. Well kept basic rest area. Dogs enjoyed their walk. We enjoyed the shaded picnic tables.

Beautiful inside and out with a good family bathroom that includes a changing station. We'll definitely be stopping here as needed.
