L & J Cafe reviews
26Loved the bartender she was great we just ate breakfast sat at the bar our preference she was awesome, food was delicious!
Food is delicious! Wait staff is great! Prices have jump up big time, but understanding because of pandemic loss of sales.
Was very disappointed not enough options on the menu prices seemed to have gone up and not enough food on my plate. I ordered Mexican plate and was very discouraged the fair amount of food was not there very little containers especially for the green Chile stew. I took my Chile relleno from my plate to go when it came time to warm it up at home the Chile had no cheese. I probably won't be going in the near future
The food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. Our server, Tanya, was very attentive to all our needs. We started with chips and guacamole. My husband had enchiladas and I ordered the flautas. When we lived in New Mexico, this restaurant was one of our favorites. Lucky for us, we come back several times a year.
The food is Awesome & the Tortilla Soup is a must try! Service was great and definitely worth the wait!
Always good
It is a mexican food restuarant but i recommended the hot wings!
Large wings
Use to love it here. Since they don't offer a free meal to our veterans and active duty I no longer dine there. We are a military town. Seems some people forget that! Unpatriotic El Pasoans
This is one of El Paso's most talked about restaurants! Beloved by almost everyone and let me tell you that is doesn't disappoint! The service is wonderful and the food is authentic! Yes, a little crowded but most definitely worth waiting to get a seat!
This place definitely has the best Mexican food! It is so close to the border, so it isn't a surprise. The whole environment is super chill and laid back, it almost feels like a bar, and I suppose you could come in for a drink, but I would suggest to pick up a Huarache for sure! There was even a jukebox here! I loved all the wonderful lighting, but most of all - the food! Portions are generous and you will not leave hungry for sure!
I applied twice to this establishment 35 years experience as a chef not a cook with open availability and living right down the street I was denied both times. I find out they're racist and they don't hire white people. You're not Mexican you can't work there. My lawyer is about to hit them with a class action lawsuit. Little do they know I have four of their current employees that back up the story.
Never again! Your not that great. Plenty of places to go. Worst experience! Long long wait only to get a table in the front where everyone was standing. Loud music from the bar. We couldn’t have a conversation. Waiter got the order completely wrong than had an attitude about it. The margaritas had no alcohol as they have no licensing. They could have said that. Never again
Food sucked. We travel alot and Mexican food is a favorite. The only reason I'm giving a 2 is because I liked the lemonade and the service was good. Surely not Authentic it's so americanized. NO FLAVOR AT ALL! Cant figure out why it was rated so high. Food was bland and the salsa tasted like it was poured from a hot sauce bottle. I love spicy but that was not good and chips was so hard I could have broken a tooth. Just horrible.
Delicious, best Mexican I've ever had, I don't write reviews ever but this place had to get one. If you want authentic Mexican this is the place. Anybody giving this place a bad review wanted Americanized Mexican, which is fine but don't have an opinion if you wanted taco Bell and went to possibly the best place in the United States for authentic Mexican food.
Best chicken tortilla soup I have ever had. Pretty presentation. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was bland.very disappointed. Texmex in Fort Worth is far superior.
This was my first visit here. The chips and salsa were amazing. So much, that next time, I'm buying a gallon of salsa to take home. I ordered the Mexican combo and a sopapilla for dessert. This is easily one of the best authentic Mexican dishes I've had in a long time. One of the locals suggested this place during my stay in El Paso and I'm glad I did!
This place was great! Very authentic. Busy, but worth it. The prices were very reasonable for the quality.
I gave this 5 stars originally, but I recently tried the red salsa I bought from the restaurant and it's nothing like what I had in the restaurant. I'm very disappointed because I brought it back for someone who would have loved the real stuff.
Went to this place for lunch today. It was awesome! Best Mexican food I've ever had and the quac. Rocked
I had the meatloaf with green beans and sweet potato fries. I love the home town feel! The food was delicious and they have tons of comfort food.
It was a great place for breakfast really enjoyed it next time I'm in El paso I'll go have lunch or dinner for sure!
