La Cantera Resort & Spa reviews
16Views were absolutely SPECTACULAR The staff was absolutely fantastic and attentive. Definitely a spot to hit up if you can't escape the city. Beautiful water and wonderful service. While you are here, you must try Loma de Vida Spa ask for Mari! Ok but there is 1 thing, if anything.they need to update their outside lounge furniture. It's definitely worn other than that, I'm going again
Everything was wonderful. The Villas were nice, relaxing, quiet, and tranquil. The staff at the Villas made our stay truly amazing.
Loved this place but I had a waitress at Primero edit their tip on my receipt which I noticed on my room charges. Put in a complaint before I checked out, heard back from no one. Called 2 days later (supposedly a request to manager was put in to call me in 24hrs) Never got a called. Called again (supposedly a request went to Accounting dept) still haven't heard back. This is sad and extremely poor customer service. Its basically giving me "its ok, we do this often" vibes. Its not even about the money. Its the principal and integrity. Imagine how many people may not pay attention to their bills.
We booked our hotel via the website as a little staycation, to relax and unwind and enjoy room service/resort. The hotel staff is very friendly and the resort is beautiful, however I noticed our room didn’t have any slippers or hotel room so I had to call and request that. The most upsetting part is what I was looking forward to the most, room service. We got our food in brown boxes with plastic ware, coffee in a plastic cups and juice in plastic bottles. My food was cold and they forgot some items as well. I called and voiced my concerns which they said they are now doing a “door dash” type service with room service due to cvid. This should definitely be voiced at time of reservation because if I wanted this type of service I would’ve booked at an aloft or something. And if it is due to cvid then why china dinnerware in the restaurants?
Just a beautiful place. The setting and views are incredible. Enjoyed a balcony room on the seventh floor and watched the sunset.
It's a sprawling amazing resort I never knew there was such a high point in San Antonio unbelievable
We had the most amazing wedding at La Cantera Resort and Spa. Thank you Liana and team for a magical experience. Everything was top notch and our guests had the best time. Thank you!
This place is absolutely beautiful! Food and drinks for event were delicious! The fountains, the views, the decor, the ambiance is the best! Now the bad news, I saw a guest attacked by ants after stepping on an ant pile. This should have been taken care of before guests arrived. I saw a woman almost fall over (chair broke) because the chairs they use for events are made to hold 90lbs.
My wife and I.my daughter and her boyfriend.and my parents-in-law.all stayed for 3 days on 05,06, & 07 July 2021. It rained quite a bit this summer and my in-laws' room flooded. The resort didn't have any more rooms like the one they had.so they upgraded them to a large suite.
So gracious.
I love staying here. I come here to celebrate birthdays or special occasions. So about 6 times a year. Beautiful hotel. I made a list of pros and cons. Also some tips.
Pro:
Has the best food options. My favorite was the deviled eggs at sweet fire but they stopped selling them. If it’s your birthday you get a free steak dinner. My other favorite is the brownie ice cream in the cafe.
All pools are awesome with an amazing view. The drinks in the adult pool though are off the chain. Pina colada tassel like a cloud!
They do s’more nights and movie nights.
You get pool towel service.
The shuttle takes you to six flags, the mall, the rim, etc up to 2 miles unless you ask for manager approval.
The staff for the most part is very nice.
There is a Guard at end of the hill.
You can see fireworks from the front of lobby,
Fire pits and chairs everywhere.
Pools heated.
Con:
The rooms need a bigger tub/ some upgrades in the room.
The balcony isn’t really a balcony. It’s just a bar in front of the door.
The price of the hotel I think is way overpriced unless you can book it on hotel.com on the slow season.
Parking is a walk to get to your car.
The lighting by the pool and outside the hotel is Horrible. My wife fell and gashed her leg twice due to this. All she was trying to do is get in the adult pool.
They don’t have a reward program.
We had the best time. Cannot beat the views or location. Staff was very friendly. Excellent service all around.
Environment was great and the staff were cool. If you're not in the villas you're doing yourself a disservice
I’d recommend not going on vacation here. My wife and I decided to go here for a nice relaxing vacation away from kids. The breakfast options were terrible, the AC never got the rooms cold enough. The staff was not very helpful. Our last morning here we were woken up to blaring fire alarm which no one came to tend to for 15 minutes. Manager on call did not apologize. Elevators were not working.
Amazing hotel and resort. The food was good. The service was great. Some of the best pools in Texas! Certainly the best in San Antonio. Didn't get to play golf but I'm guessing it's just as nice as everything else here. Try Signatures restaurant for sure. We'll definitely return.
A little pricey but gr8 experience for my family. Will come back soon and stay at the villas
Had a horrible experience this Labor Day! We ck into our room and our bed was severely uneven, so we called the front desk as soon as we got our room and no one came. After 6 hrs passed I walked to the front desk and they informed me no one was notified. Finally after midnight maintenance finally came, Sadly there solution was to stuff towels and pillows under my mattress to try and even it out! I was disappointed cause I had my pregnant wife and 2 kids and now I have to do my best to even out my mattress so no one rolls off! So I walked back to the front desk to inform them so I could hopefully swap rooms, she said yes that wasn’t a problem but not till the next day, she would inform her manager that came in at 7. The next day came and no one reached out, so once again I go back to the front desk for a resolution… Sadly I was informed that no one relayed my situation to the manager and they might not be able to give me a new room… So they call for a manager, Finally a manager came to approve my request but wasn’t very friendly about it. For the price I’m paying for a resort I really expected more…
