Gym LA Fitness reviews
27The gym only has 3 bench presses it’s a small gym not to many equipment, always broken at times not the best gym I’ve ever been to I’m a pro bodybuilder
Racially profiled at the door. Account holder for 10 years. Sad case. Probably going to take my money to lifetime.
Love my gym. It's same building as a lifetime fitness at a third of the price. This one is very well laid out, quite spacious, and has all working machines. Basketball court and pool. Women's only workout section and spacious locker rooms for both genders. Quite clean as well. My only quip is that there's no kettlebells for open use or bands but your welcome to bring your own. Overall highly recommend la fitness at hw6 and bissonet.
Nice spacious gym with a lap pool, basketball court, spinning room and a good selection of workout machines and free weights. Some of the equipment needs repair and servicing though. The manager needs to assign an employee to do a daily check on all equipment and repair damaged equipment promptly.
UPDATE: I returned here several months later and things haven't improved much. Front area was reasonably clean. However several machines were broken and had "scheduled for service" signs on them. Why not just get them fixed ASAP? Very disappointing.
I relocated from an Austin location. Been with LA over a year. I've been at this location a solid 2 months. Rarely miss a day.
Regardless what has been said I can vouch for the following.
Gym is clean. I'm there by 8 AM each morning and the cleaning staff are already at work.
Restrooms and sauna I've never had issue with.
Rarely is there a machine that needs maintenance.
It's not overly crowded like other gyms. I can get my routine in without much wait time at all between sets regardless if it's leg or chest day.
The staff have all been awesome and friendly. This LA Fitness is like my second home and I enjoy waking up in the morning and heading into the gym to see familiar faces.
Maybe the gym needed some work a year or two back but from what I've seen this is a chill vibe, get your workout in, respectful environment type of gym.
March 2021: Much cleaner than a year ago when the virus hit. The place is now very clean, and a staff member is constantly cleaning all surfaces. This is the way it should have always been, and we are going here again.
I am very happy with LA Fitness accepting Silver Sneakers and having a fine lap pool, which I have made use of 5 times a week. I'm coming up on 71 this month, and I think swimming is a great exercise for me.
I like that they are a clean facility, I always see the cleaning staff doing their job and they all do it well. I wish they would do more with the pandemic. About 10% of the people in the facility wear their mask properly. I love the women's workout room but NOBODY wears their mask which makes me so uncomfortable, they should definitely enforce this more.
This place should be closed down! No body cares for coronavirus lots of people not wearing a face mask definitely not safe (I did complain with the manager)
Drove here just to see what this gym was like compared to my usual la fitness. Gym is nice, but the customer service is as dry as it gets. If you dont like tslking to the people literally responsible for helping you have a job then dont work in customer interaction jobs.
Ive been to 4 different gyms around Houston and its not all about good service and having a lot of equipment. I started going to this location for about 3 weeks and absolutely NO ONE re-racks their weights, every single dumbbell is either on the floor or somewhere else. I started going to a gym further away for this reason.
The smoothie bar which I know it's own by someone else, however this guy is never there, hes not clean and has attitude. I asked him how come you are never here he said that's why you work for yourself and that hes his own boss. La fitness should get rid of this guy. Or send someone to see what the hell is going on. Front desk says they can not do anything about it.
They're desperate for their twenty dollar commission instead of helping out costumer, they are liars and very unhelpful this is one of the reasons why I switch gyms.
I come here to workout on my days off, it's a great gym most of the equipment are up to date. The men's restroom sometimes does not have paper towels after we wash our hands. The membership price was something that i was able to afford.
This is a good gym. It has weight machines for all body parts; a dedicated room with geared stationary bicycles for group class sessions, separate locker rooms for men and women, seperate sauna rooms for men and women, a separate training room for women only; and an Olympic length indoor swimming pool.
Some of the equipment needs to be replaced, and some weights are either absent or too few. They have good staff.
I like the equipments when those are working. I am pleased with my environment and some services. Members also have to work toward keeping the facility organized. Maintanance has to work harder in order to mantain clients content.
They are always short of paper towels, toilet paper, liquid soap in restrooms and what not. Women's area: always full of dust, ladies hair and used paper napkins here and there. If asked, they have one rude excuse "order placed, we can not do anything, it takes time. '. And things goes like that for days. Unbelievable
Overall experience was bad.they signed me up, took my $160 and didn't show me how to use any of the machines. I told them I was dissatisfied and no long want to come to the gym. They told me the person who does cancelation is out on maternity leave. They gave a paper to sign and send to corporate. I signed and mailed it and also called and ask for a partial refund. They agreed to send back a portion of the $160 and they didn't.
Need someone more responsible to open some of us depend on it that it be open on time we wake up early knowing it be open at 5 cause we have to go to work early
