LA Fitness, San Antonio TX

I love this gym. It is always very clean and the staff (who are very friendly and helpful) are always around cleaning equipment and making sure everything is in order. People are always happy to share the pool lanes too. Nothing but good experiences.

This lactation felt a little small, they didn’t have everything I needed. The service was good though

CONS:
1. The showers in the men’s room don’t have shower heads or curtains.
2. They don’t have sanitizing wipes or bottles throughout the gym. They are located in the front. This is a big inconvenience to carry around another bottle as I’m working out
3. Rude staff that’s always on their phone or laptop watching YouTube videos.

PROS:
1. Good size parking lot
2. Clean looking gym
3. Jacuzzi and pool are open for use.

It's an ok place. Nice selection of dumbells/barbells and machines. Locker rooms are run down. In particular the showers need a complete refurbish. Personnel is not very enthusiastic. You seldomly get acknowledged when you enter or exit. Main reason for me attending the place is convenience. Very close to my workplace. If it weren't for that I would probably go elsewhere.

So I was working out and this man and lady were working out. One of the staff members asked them to move over (because apparently we cannot work out in that section) which is funny because I’ve asked if that was off limits when signing up and I was told it was fine to work out in that section. Anyways 10 mins go by and this lady named nikkie or However you say it came over and asked why are you training someone in la fitness. The man responds saying they were working out together and that he pays to have a friend come. He asked where it said he couldn’t work out in the section, she INSTANTLY got an attitude, said she was gonna call her BF that also works at lifetime fitness (different location) to take care of this problem. Idk seemed like they were trying really hard to intimidate this man. I thought la fitness was to make us feel comfortable not intimidated for asking questions. And they put the lady he was with in an extremely bad mood too, people were yelling cussing and the lady stormed out too! The lack of communication skills here is pathetic. And when it was all done the staff was huddled up laughing at what happened. Smh I won’t be recommending any family or friends to go to this location. Small update they revoked his membership. Smh race had a lot to do with it as well from what the lady said.

L. A. FITNESS is a good gym, clean, nice, and staff friendly, an personal trainers if you so wish, all, an all, nice place to get a workout in

LA Fitness is a good value for how much you pay. They have all the equipment I need from a gym, and it's maintained just fine. The classes they have are great. Try and avoid going at peak times and you won't have to wait to use things.

My complaint is this: sometimes I go there towards the end of the night. There's one young woman who works closing shifts often, and she's nice all the time, *except* near closing, when she treats everyone like they're misbehaving children. She yells stuff like, "Come on guys, get out of the shower, you've got to leave! " starting 20 minutes before closing. It's the tone of voice that's disrespectful - it sounds like a bouncer kicking drunks out of a bar. But the gym won't be closing for another 20 minutes. And she'll walk through the mens locker room multiple times to shout at everybody while they're putting on clothes.

It's not abusive or anything really bad.but it's just a disrespectful way to talk to people. Also, one time I went there about 35 minutes before closing time, just for a quick shower before heading out, and she'd locked the front doors already, obviously trying to deter people from coming into the gym. I did get let in, but it made me feel like I was unwelcome.

So to summarize: good gym, but you'll get shouted at while you're trying to put on your underwear if you're there anytime near closing.

Be very careful about doing business with them! I was charged over $500 for a Personal Trainer I didn't need nor ask for and two $100 fees pending for something NOT discussed, requested, or included in my contract that I thoroughly read BEFORE signing! When I brought the extra charges to their attention they were clueless. My membership is paid so I'm stuck for a few months.

Great place to work out! Excellent customer service and if anything happens with your bill just talk to the manager!

Its my closest gym hence why i go there but its always really smelly, the staff is not very helpful and my free "diagnosis" never happend because who ever eas going yo attend me never showed up (3 times i scheduled) and just gave up on that.

I work out their 3 to 4 times week. Their tredmills are very good there elliptical was are OK there share steppers 4 out of 5 work. Weight equipment is good to excellent. Free weights are adequate and tyrion clientele everything from average Joe to hot chicks in spandex. It's alright I get good workout when I go. They also have punching bags that you can work out on with gloves on.i got back in shape in1year here. Mike C

Everything one needs for maintenance fitness or next level fitness. Trainers are good but a little pricey (but worth it if looking to go to next level of fitness)

Worse part about this gym are the salesmen and upper management. Will bully people to sign on for their commission. These got some hard life lessons to learn. Extraordinarily rude. Other than the staff. Gym is crowded, the bathrooms seemed to only be cleaned in the morning and weights don’t have cleaning supplies near them besides at the front. I do not recommend this gym. Take to golds, the ymca, or 24 fitness or something. Even planet fitness over this one. & Get fit!

The previous review about lack of ventilation is true! The rest if that 2 star review is on the money. Not coming back to this gym.

By far the worse customer service I have ever encountered. I'm glad I finally changed gyms. I really recommended everyone to look somewhere else to trained. There way better gym at much cheaper rates or with the same but much better customer service.

It has a vary large swimming pool, n lots of exercise machines great place to work out, vary clean

I spend 2 hours daily at swimming pool, swim is very important to me. Thanks to LA. Wishing they gave more attention to cleaning and supplies needed to showers area. Thanks again

I love the layout of this gym. I also appreciate that there is more than enough room on the weight floor for both guys and gals.

Club Member for as long as their around. Best service I have encountered in a gym. They supersede experience in all aspects, helping you to succeed is their goals for their clients.

OMG. Horrible dirty place. It is probably worth the drive to check out another LA Fitness in the area or just pay the lifetime fitness guess fee. 10 mins. Away.
