Great gym, has everything you need, and is always clean, the only complaint is sometimes it gets to crowded in the evenings but other than that LA Fitness Bulverde is a great gym overall

Very clean facility. Equipment is well maintained and there is usually enough of everything to keep your routine moving even at peak times. Staff is professional, helpful and courteous. (I rarely give any review five stars.)

Good facility. Clean with lots of space. They have racquetball courts, basketball (closed for covid), Zuma, heavy bags, and a swimming pool. No intimidation here. Everyone does their thing and goes about their business. I enjoy coming here daily.

My husband got a membership for him and my 16-year-old son, so that he could rehab his knee from meniscus surgery. He had an eval for a personal trainer, which I declined due to the personal trainers not being certified physical therapists. My son and I met a friend at the Bulverde location, who is a certified physical therapist because I wanted him to evaluate my son's knee strength. The personal trainer manager stopped my friend and my son from working together because she said it was personal training and that if we wanted personal training it's company policy for us to pay for it through LA Fitness. I argued the fact that he's a friend and certified physical therapist that's why we did not want personal training through LA Fitness. The manager proceeded to tell me that my husband (who's also a member) could not train nor assist my son in his physical therapy exercises because that's also considered personal training. When I asked to see the policy in writing, they would not produce the policy. Their statement to me was "All of our trainers have kinesiology degrees and are trained to rehab your son from knee injury. " When I told them that is a liability because they are not certified physical therapists the manager said "That's why we have you sign a waiver. " In my opinion, this is a gross negligent tactic to get me to pay for personal training that could potentially harm my son. For them to even say a PARENT CAN NOT assist their own child is evidence of how low LA Fitness will go to get you to pay for personal training. Seems like to me, these gross tactics need to be dealt with at a higher level. I'm glad I recorded the conversation.

I had a personal trainer appointment with them 4 years ago. At that time I told them my husband was very ill and could not commit to anything. Did they offer me any options, did they remind me that I could put my membership on hold, did they do anything? No! I remembered years later that I could have done that but at the time I was focused on the fact that my husband was dying! So, I continued to pay. Since then the classes they offer have been significantly reduced and I am wondering why I am still a member. No compassion here; they just want your money! Totally disappointed in them.

Speaking on my experience here: If your looking for training, this isn't the place to go there is one good trainer but he can't really train people he's the manager! On top of that you will get mocked by a sales rep cause he thinks it's funny that you have gone through 4 trainers in a month! They don't take your goals seriously, AND LACKKKKKK COMMUNICATION! On top of that you can't get out of your contract even if they are in default! Highly recommend LIFETIME FITNESS!

You have to physically mail a letter if you want to cancel which is rediculous. Its 2020 people. Keep that in mind when signing up. Just normal gym shady practices to keep you from canceling honestly.

Before I begin, I will clearly state that the facilities are at least 4 stars, so if thats all you care about, then this place is pretty nice and I think I pay around $50 bucks a month. My issue with this place is that 1: we signed up for training sessions with the regional/district manager (I’m not sure which, I think his name was Jeremy) and he specifically told my wife and I that we had 7 days to cancel after we discussed our finances. 4 days later I go in to cancel because it would put a strain on our finances and we were told we would have to pay at least half of the amount because it had been past 3 days. I went to find the manager we had originally spoken to and could not find him. I then called and finally got ahold of him because I did not state who I was and proceeded to lie and say he never told me that it was 7 days and that there was nothing he could do. So we were stuck paying monthly onto our credit because we believed a manager at his word. This may be my mistake but it is unmistakable dishonesty on the part of the business.
2: we signed up for personal training and have gone through at least 3 personal trainers because they have mentioned they don’t get paid enough and often have to work two jobs to support themselves.
Although the facilities are nice I would not trust any of these people and be very careful with my money there. You will be lied to.

Extremely inconvenient that they close at 8PM on Sundays, needs to be open later to accommodate guests who don't work traditional hours.

I wasn't completely satisfied with my visit today. The sauna wasn't working properly and when I addressed the issue to the staff member nothing was done. Next time I'm calling ahead to ensure its working. I need to sweat after my workouts. I do love the other benefits of being a member.

Great staff, but high-pressure on the personal training packages. Rarely crowded on the floor. Good equipment and a nice clientele to boot.

Love the gym but the not sale people, I just came to check the place out with my free guest pass to get a feel If liked it. But the aggressive sale manager just wanted a sale, now I come from a sale background but you need to hear the customer and his needs. I felt so uncomfortable and will not be signing up to la fitness which the sale team killed my experience. Now this is my honest opinion I am sure other locations might be Better. Please retrain your sale staff

The gym itself is pretty nice. Alot of quality amenities. The downside to this location is the staff. They have no problems misleading you and they won't admit or try to fix their lies when you call them on it. You are better off going to Golds right across loop 1604. LA Fitness has a 60$ annual fee which is basically an extra 5$ a month which you pay your second month of being there. Their base contract is 40$ a month with no signup fee, or 30$ a month with a 150$ signup fee. They will be more expensive than gold's unless you go there for two years or more. Golds will charge you 40$ a month with a 75$ start-up fee but ZERO annual fees. They are a better deal and I have never been mislead at Gold's. It's also harder to get ahold of customer service than a quadruple amputee climbing Mount Everest. The manager (Josh) will take a week for him to contact you if you ever have the misfortune of having to deal with them. Trust me, these guys are terrible!

Great facilities and even better staff! Visiting servicemember from overseas and Hunter and Hunter took great care of me.

Manager is just playing games to get the most money out of you. Wasted my time, tried to skip a week trial and stick me with a 3 month membership instead. He’s awkwardly uncomfortable to deal with. Never again will I step into this LA fitness.

5/24/19 approximately 6: 00pm
Horrible/non-existing customer service at the front desk from a young girl with 2 visible tongue piercings. I was told with a new Active&Fit membership I’d need to speak to a sales rep to get a guest pass and I’d have to return the next day to do so because “all sales people have left for the day”. Meanwhile there were at least 3 sales reps (or employees) sitting at different sales desks to the right of the entrance and one clearly had customers in front of him. Unless sales staff are supposed to leave at 6pm on Fridays or front desk attendants are now supposed to turn away potential new members there are some critical opportunities at this gym that need immediate attention from LA Fitness leadership.
