Dropped into the bar for a couple happy hour plates on a Thrursday afternoon. That is all I had save for a glass of water so take it for what you will.

I ordered calamari fries and crab deviled eggs; service for my happy hour food was fast however the calamari fries were supposed to have kimchi and there was neither kimchi on the plate nor any element of kimchi in the dipping sauce which I am aware of. The dish was overly salty but edible; the fries were served already in the dipping sauce, so if you don't want your calamari half covered in sauce ask for it on the side.

The crab deviled eggs for me would not have been edible, were it not for the bread they brought. The remoulade mixed in with the deviled egg was overpoweringly sweet and did nothing to compliment the flavor or sweetness of the crab. I had to spread the whole egg/crab mixture over slices of bread to be able to eat it. The bread, while complimentary, came to the table with no butter or olive oil.

The crab deviled eggs looked rustic rather than refined and could have been elevated with chives instead of their scallion choice, in my opinion.

UPDATE: To those who have noticed that the business (Landry’s) responded to my review and asked me to provide them with more information. I did as they asked within a day of their reply.

Landry’s followed up saying I would hear from La Griglia but this business never contacted me. Don’t waste your time responding to Landry’s replies to your reviews (at least for this business anyway).

It was a great experience. Started off alittle slow with appetizers but took off with fast staff and Amazing food. Everyone in my party of 14 had a wonderful time. Will definitely be going back. Thank you again

This is a hard pass for me. Was really excited to try this place but the staff was crazy unorganized. I sat at the bar for happy hour, I was waited on like 5 different people most of whom had no knowledge of alcohol or how to make drinks. On a Monday at 5pm there seemed to be a dozen servers just having a Kiki at the end of the bar while we were ignored. I normally give good reviews but I was completely annoyed. Food was good and I would have ordered dinner but it was to painful.

Wow, this might be my be favorite restaurant. The service was so good. I feel like we had a team of 3 or 4 waiters and busboys waiting on us. Great teamwork. And the food. Oh the food! From the complimentary breads, to the specials, to the desserts. We started of with bisque that was exceptional. I had the flounder special of the day. So good! My teenaged daughter wanted a simple fettuccine Alfredo, which isn't on the menu, but no problem. They were happy to do it. And she says it was the best she's ever had. And believe me when I say she's had fettuccine Alfredo at a lot of different places, lol. The other dishes were all good. For dessert we split a cheesecake and the 3 scoops of ice cream. So decadent. Luckily we had our teenaged son with us, since he can finish any meal. But I could have eaten a tub of the strawberry ice cream. Insanely good. Only down side is that this place is expeeeeensive. Either way, not your usual local Italian food joint. If you have the means, or just have a special occasion to justify the cost, this is a great place to have dinner.

Came here for restaurant weeks and left disappointed. The gorgonzola fritters were just ok and the main dish of Cornish hen and bread pudding were disappointing. I recommend the seafood cheesecake which we ordered off the regular menu, but beyond that I can't recommend doing the restaurant weeks items.

I think potentially there are some good items on the regular menu but I don't want to have to try everything to find the few dishes that impress. Beyond the food the service was good if not a little rushed like they wanted us out the door.

Service was questionable. The waiter checked our IDs and then brought the manager over to see them under the guise that he thought they said 2007 on them? If he thought that, why didn't he inspect them more closely the first time around? Their story didn't make sense. Anyways, we came for the HRW dinner menu. For the first course, we got the gorgonzola fritters and summer melon panzanela. For the second course, we got the pappardelle and salmon. For desert, we got the bourbon bread pudding and nocciola. It seemed like half the dishes were better than the others. The gorgonzola fritters and salad were good. The pasta had a lot of flavor, but the salmon didn't. The nocciola was also pretty good, but the bread pudding was not as rich as it should have been. Overall food was okay. Wouldn't come back only because of the service

#JoeFoodTour LaGriglia is a staple in Houston. You can see many famous people and wealthy to do people family river, oaks area who take their families there. I love the feel of the charm of the place definitely must have the pizza bread which is served as a starter. Everything's great on that menu especially the frutti de mare. #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston

First time here today, my 45th birthday! Son randomly picked up the place, as good as fine dining! Great food, from drinks to dessert! Pizza, pasta, lasagna were just too good. Good service, beautiful ambiance. An hr drive but was so worth it!

Great spot for a dinner date or celebration. I took my lady here for a dinner date a few days before thanksgiving since were were spending it separately with our families. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is even better. The service is fine dining level. I honestly have no complaints. I had the lamb chops which weren’t on the menu but the server recommended. Flawless. My lady had the mushroom lasagna and it had a surprising yet wonderful flavor profile. The wine selection is broad and the tiramisu is on point. It is a little pricey, but this is one of those places you make a reservation and plan to spend $100+ for a nice dinner date.

So, I gave La Griglia a shot during Houston Restaurant Week, thinking it'd be cool to support the Houston Food Bank. But honestly, it didn't hit the mark.

Right from the start, the vibe felt off. Asked about the restaurant week menu, and the waiter’s snarky response wasn’t the friendliest welcome.

Then came the cringey joke about not wanting drinks. Like, really? Not the time, buddy.

Considering the good cause, it’s a letdown. Can't really say I'd recommend it for Houston Restaurant Week. The whole experience just didn't click

I hate leaving bad reviews especially because I worked in the restaurant industry for over 8 years serving/bartending in semi-fine dining and fine dining restaurants in Chicago. So I understand sometimes things just happen. And the people around me seemed to all be enjoying themselves. However, I went here to try the Restaurant Week menu because I am new to Houston and it's a great cause (part of the money from your order is donated to the Houston Food Bank).

From the second the server came to the table, I knew that were was going to be an issue. He brought the drink menu and was trying to get the drink order the very second the menu touched my hands. No introduction at all, recommendations, etc. I asked for a few minutes to look over the menu and he was gone for a while. There were a lot of FOH hanging out, talking, and all gathered in the back (my server was one of them). Server came back and took drink orders and disappeared for a while again - I am also assuming he forgot to put the drink order because of how long it took. There were only 2-3 people at the bar and only 4 other tables in the restaurant so it was not busy. A different server came by and asked if we were ok. We asked to see the Restaurant week menu and he made a face and went "ohhhhhh" with a sigh. I got the new menu and did not see the server again for some time. The new server comes back to take the order and after the app comes out the original server comes back to see how the food was, and didn't come back to the table the rest of the evening. The food wasn't bad but it was a miss for me as well. The app was really good though.

I have so much understanding for when things happen at a restaurant but the servers seemed to not have any type of training, no communication skills, and/or were brand new. I am not sure if servers share the sections or not but it felt like because I was not ordering drinks/bottles of wine right when I sat down, I was passed over to a different server. They also made everything very awkward which I have never experienced before while dining somewhere. What is also annoying is that the restaurant week menu is more expensive than everything on the menu besides the filet. So I do not understand the issue whatsoever.

Like I mentioned, everyone else seemed to be enjoying their time there. Maybe this was one of those one offs. However, I don't think I will be going back. I do want to give a huge compliment to the busser (younger guy - skinny) he was extremely proactive, friendly, and kind throughout the whole meal.

I discovered the restaurant randomly by ordering a side of spinach only from Uber eats one night, and they delivered it with a bag of Italian cookies. To me attention to detail is everything especially when my order was so small so I’ve decided to try out the restaurant the following day.
I had dinner for the first time at La Griglia and it was awesome. Our server Alexander made our experience unforgettable! He gave us an impeccable service and it is def my to go Italian restaurant in Houston.
The manager service as well is top notch and greeted us on our way out!

Will def go back) thank you for the awesome experience
