I first met Sarah at St. PJ’s Children’s Home during my practicum. Sarah’s demeanor was friendly and inviting. I admired how well she was able to connect with the children, especially under such traumatic circumstances. I did not know Sarah well, but she definitely made an impression on me as to someone who to aspire to. After completing my practicum, I did not interact with Sarah again until I contacted her a few years later to inquire about supervision.

Upon entering supervision, I really had no idea what to expect. Basically, my intention was merely to seek out an affordable LPC Supervisor who I could connect with and would hopefully accommodate my work schedule. As I progressed under supervision with Sarah, I learned more about what I should have expected. Empathy, compassion, knowledge, humble, relaxed, collaborative, accountable, ethical, flexible – these are just some of the descriptors that come to mind when I think about the qualities of a great LPC Supervisor. Sarah has all these qualities and more! I don’t think of Sarah as my supervisor, but more so as my mentor and I learned a great deal under her supervision. As I move from the role of supervisee to colleague, I couldn’t feel more prepared. I HIGHLY recommend Sarah as an LPC Supervisor!

Sarah is a compassionate, highly dedicated and invested mental health therapist. She is beyond compare and helped me through some very difficult stuff. You will not find another therapist who is as invested and dedicated to your healing and success. I would highly recommend her!

Sarah was my supervisor while working towards my full licensure. I moved to Iowa in the middle of my required 3000 hours. I've had four supervisors while obtaining my full licensure and I can say unequivocally, Sarah was and is the best! I felt fully supported and she taught me so much. I would say run, don't walk to her if you are seeking supervision.

I would highly recommend Sara Almendariz. As a parent, I tried my best to help my child cope with her situation and unfortunately it wasn't enough. I was a little skeptical of seeking professional help for her but I am glad I did. And I'm glad I chose Ms. Almendariz. I saw improvement in my daughter by her 2nd-3rd session. Of course everyone is different and some may take longer than others but I am positive she can help you through it. No matter how small or big the issue is, Ms. Almendariz can help!
