La Margarita Mexican Restaurant & Oyster Bar reviews
33Never been treated with more disrespect by restaurant staff in my life! The bartenders and waiters were literally talking shot about me as I ate my food. When I call them out the busboy tried to get bad with me and I warned him that I would knock his lights out. He questioned me as if to say I was mistreating women, I quickly reassured him that they were in the wrong and speaking negatively about me and he looked away and did not say anything. I knew he knew what I was talking about, as did the bartender as I expressed that they were all getting fired! The busboy then tried to bully me to no avail, As again I knew I would knock his lights out. I requested to speak with the manager but they sent security instead. When they arrived I again requested to speak to management and by some miracle the manager appeared. He reminded me that I was being ejected, and I reassured him that it was due to the mistreatment that I received from his staff and that they could keep me half of a margarita that I did not drink. The manager blew me off and walked away, as I expressed that I would never come back and leave a bad review. Hence, my bad review. The crazy thing about all of this is the food was better than ‘Mi Tierra Cafe, ’ but you will not catch me dead in this place. Do not eat here.
Loved it! For sure we go annually to people watch for Fiesta sit in the patio area. Ordered my Fajitas Medium Rare - Delicioso!
I entertained my visiting relatives by attempting to eat at Mi Tierra, however wait time was too long. We ventured into La Margarita. We waited 40 minutes, were seated. The waiter got my order wrong, our water glasses remained empty, the food was not as appetizing as I remembered from a few years ago. I was disappointed in the slow service. I can see why Mi Tierra is so busy, their service and food are A+.
La Margarita has really good, and authentic mexican food thats tastes fresh and made to order! The salsa they give with the totopos is super tasty, I loved it. Our waiter was super nice and made our time at La Margarita enjoyable. The only downside to wanting to dine here is the wait, expect to wait atleast 45 minutes for a table. However this isnt too bad of a wait since its sorrounded by dozens of local shops you can visit while you wait. I had the "El Favorito" and my S/O had the Flautas. They were both delicious. Would come again!
La Margarita is a staple of the tourism scene in San Antonio and owned by the same group that owns Mi Tierra. While being a staple of the tourism restaurant scene does make your atmosphere colorful and fun, it does not make you a good choice for food. This is a well known Tex-Mex Restaurant for the ambiance and not the taste of food. You can very easily find dozens of local Mexican restaurants servings better tastes at half the price or less. This restaurant is suited only for tourists and should be skipped by locals.
Great camarones! We enjoyed our meal and fla n for dessert. Excellent food and on this busy busy weekend the service was impeccable. Friendly staff and our server Alfonso was fabulous! Definitely will return.
The restaurant gets really busy so prepare yourself for a small wait before being seated but the Mango and Raspberry Margaritas make the wait a bit more manageable. The outdoor seating was perfect in the winter weather and the food was excellent. Our server was amazing; even with multiple tables he never missed a beat and refilled our drinks in a timely manner.
Best mexican-american food; more mexican than Mi Tierra, but still "touristy". The prices and the service are great and the quality of the food is also great.
Comparing food quantity, quality and pricing to Houston, where I am from i was disappointed. For 7 med-small shrimp, a spoon of rice cup of beans and lettuce, $20.00. Credit goes to management for trying make things right. Manager brougt out another plate of same dish. I am appreciative of his efforts, wish both dishes of shrimp were hot.
We came and had the fajitas for two. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, amazing food and we got a lot for our money! Would definitely recommend and come again!
Had a wedding reception for 25+ people. Reserved a u shape table setting. They have 2 rooms for private parties, 30 for pinata and a 60+ guests room. We reserved the restaurant 6 months in advance. Easy process and wide menu to pick from. The meal we picked was a combo plate for our guests and was huge. Had fajitas, tamales, enchiladas, beans and rice and delicious tortillas with flan. I like authentic Mexican food and ND indeed it was! Our guests are still talking about how yummy all the food was as well and nose how good our waiters and waitress were so attentive, even for it being a large party.
Food and drinks are very good. No problems there, but when waiting times are long, they need to concentrate on getting empty tables cleaned up. Management could do better.
Oh my goodness, can you say "Amazingly Delicious "? The food and Margaritas were fantastic. Great place to meet friends and enjoy the afternoon.
I HAVE BE THERE BEFORE IT WAS MY FIRST TIME TO GO THERE WHIT OSCAR AND FABIAN AND MACUS AND TAMMY ON SATURDAY NIGHT
It's at the historic market square very delicious Mexican food and the great place to spend the day or night
The food was nice but they took so long to serve us. They were just too busy and didn't have enough staff on to wait on the tables.
Mexican food and the atmosphere here is better than most.i had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here.the prices are well within reason for the quality.
About a 20min wait. Nice bar quick service, clean, and the food is good. Polite, helpful personnel. I will go back here.
The lemonade taste like toxic water. The Fajitas were horrible, the rice was hard. No alcoholic drinks at 5pm but it’s okay.
This place was good with decent prices. The scenery was amazing, the social setting was peaceful and the Mariachi band was bomb! The culture of Mexican history is awesome.
