La Popular Bakery reviews
14Asked for certain cookies and the cookies I asked for were not in my bag. Missing certain pastries and cookies. But was pretty sure was charge for what I asked for and did not receive.
I enjoyed my baked goods, but I don't understand why the frosted/ chocolate items are not covered before putting them in the bag with all the other donuts
Most of my frosting ended up on the bag
Excellent baked goods! Without a doubt, hands down, the best donut I've ever eaten.and I have a factory full of people who agree! Most certainly the best in San Antonio!
I like to stop by here when we're in the area to pick up some pastries. I don't really like how they charge you if you want a box, otherwise everything is put into paper bags. Nothing is labeled, and there are no prices anywhere, so you have to ask what something costs. When the time comes to pay, they don't use a register or calculator or anything, they just throw out a number which I can understand how that might be frustrating and/or unprofessional for some people.
However, the few times I've been there, I did the math in my head after we left, and it all added up fine. I really like the carrot cake and those almond shortbread cookies.
The chocolate cake looks delicious but honestly it didn't really even taste much like chocolate. Same with the brownies.
The ladies weren't too friendly or welcoming, but they weren't exactly rude. I got the impression that they just might be shy and reserved. There's no reason to take it personal, unless they are obviously being disrespectful and rude, which I have not witnessed. Just don't confuse reticence with rudeness. I will be going back when I'm in the area. I want to try that huge donut.
Really Delicious MEXICAN BAKERYThey have an Assortment of Delicious Pan Dulce/ Sweat Bread. Really CLEAN PLACE AND THEY STILL ARE VERY VIGILANT WITH CORONA VIRUS
Good bakery. It is surprise priced you don't see the price of the product till you are trying to pay for. Getting same thing every time bout at different prices?
I like coming here but the customer service and area is making me question my future business here. There was a lady that seemed mentally ill in the lobby, loitering. The lady that serves the pan dulce and takes money was impatient as my child ordered what he wanted and shared unsolicited advice about how I should make the decisions since ge is a child. Um, excuse me? My almost 5yr old is a young human with a brain whom can make choices for himself… she was clearly too impatient. I also don’t like how prices are not posted, pot holes all over and trashy on the outside.
If you need an itemized receipt don't asked. The baker/ 0wner. Took my items. And refused to hear me out. Very unpleasant feeling. And he was so unprofessional. I was getting it for business use. Someone told me about them last year and had no problem. But today was different
Friendly staff and delicious doughnuts. Better and cheaper than Dunkin donuts. If you haven't tried these, I'd highly recommend it.
I just left this bakery and the lady who does not speak English was extremely rude raising her voice arguing with me and her demeanor was horrible, I have come to this bakery and I have never experience the horrible customer service that this lady provided to me there was another lady I asked if she spoke English she did not. Whoever is the manager or owns this bakery should put some good decent people and know how to show customer service for English and Spanish customers. I did not purchase the Pastries because this lady was so ugly and rude towards me. She was even making ugly face expressions. There was another customer trying to be helpful and she was rude to him. This lady has no business dealing with customers or should be working there. Extremely rude lady.
Very bad service and rude the girl told the man infront of me his card was declined in rude way and then told me you have no money I told her there money HEB had there systems down check yours place I won't come anymore after been getting sweet bread here for years it's shame trying to shop small business.
The baked goods are fresh.what lacks is the staff they are not very friendly.and none if the goods have pricing on them as to how much each pastry cost.you feel like your being fleeced they just make up some number in their head.the staff cannot speak English am I supposed to believe they are mathematicians.lol
The goodies here are absolutely fabulous. Pastries for breakfast, lunch, and dessert or anytime. I highly recommend this location, on Goliad Rd.
Everything is always so fresh & delicious. You won't be disappointed in any choice of baked goods.
