La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gainesville

Had to get this room by no choice since my other hotel room was canceled. I do not recommend this hotel at all. First off, the gentleman I dealt with first coming in was rude and was the rest of the evening. Didn’t catch his name but seems as he needs to not work behind the desk. The other man, Jose was very nice and helped out a lot more than the other man. Secondly, the room was beyond hot. I’d turn the ac on and it wouldn’t blow cold air at all. I had to just leave the regular “fan mode” on. Third, the beds were so loud.
For as much as we got charged for the room you’d think it would be a lot better! Save your $400 and stay at the best western by winstar.

It was great- staff members were great! The rooms were very clean - comfortable beds and pillows — Felt so much like home!

Pros: Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is right off the freeway but area is quiet. Bed was comfortable and rooms were clean. Have had great experiences with Wyndham properties.
Cons: Issues with maintenance of rooms. Room issued at check in was fine except neither switch in bathroom worked, so no lights and no fan. Reported to front desk, and was given room next door which was an upgrade to a suite. Great, but the suite area had no lights. TV in that area did not work. There was a four-inch open gash on the ceiling. Not huge problems - there was a second TV in the bed area that worked and it was late. Bolted the door and then found the extra security lock to prevent unauthorize entry was loose. Felt a little unsafe. But it was late, we were tired, and I didn't want to move again and find out there were other issues in another room. Went down for breakfast, which had hot biscuits and gravy, eggs, and then the normal cold fare. So no meat. Again, not a big deal, but also not up to Wyndham standards for this type of property. I would recommend if maintenance was addressed, but I would also consider other options first in this area based on the problems we saw.

Beds are very loud the base is metal. Pops everything you move. Other people said theirs did too. Breakfast was iffy. Eggs just weren't good. No hairdryer in room. Called and asked for one, they said they'd bring one up. Never came. Next night went down and asked for one. Guy twice said it was behind the door. It wasn't! Girl finally got us one.

Wonderful place to stay! Rooms were very clean, staff were friendly, and breakfast was delicious.

Room had crickets in it.bed and pillows were ruff. Plus it was super hot and smelled funky in the halls

Breakfast was great and housekeeping staff was very helpful. We had booked a room that was supposed to be accessible. We found there was a second peephole on the door, the button on the wall outside the room door, extra wide doors and railings around the bathtub, along with the shower chair. All that was fine. The shower head fixture was situated high on the wall and not on the slide bar that was present, but in no way could someone who could not stand up, reach any of this. Also, why is the accessible room on the second floor? The signage by the elevator clearly states to use the stairs if there is a fire. When I saw this, I wondered, what are people in walkers and wheelchairs supposed to do in that situation? That is something that should be addressed.

Absolutely the worse place I have stayed at. The room smelled so much of disinfectant, the sheets were sticky and the bathroom was gross. Did not even attempt the breakfast. Never again. No smoke detector, mold in the shower.

They went above and beyond my transmission went out in my semi and needed a room and u had my dog it was 106 that day and they took care of me and my dog great people and great service

We had to wait about one half a hour to get checked in because there was no one at the counter

I stayed at this hotel back in May. We arrived in the evening and things appeared to be ok. We checked in and briefly put our things in the room then headed out to the casino nearby in Oklahoma. Upon coming back our room smelled funny, I say pee my bf thinks mildew. Our TV didn’t work, the cable wasn’t connected or something not sure and neither did the only light source in the room. The bathroom lights worked so that was our only source of light aside from the tv. We did let the nice young guy working the desk that night know. He came to the room to inspect it saw the tv didn’t work but of course it was too late for anything to be done. Thankfully we only stayed one night. The nice guy said to let the person checkin me out in the morning know what I experienced and said I could get a credit. Upon checking out I did what I was told and the girl said I’m sorry management will contact you because I can’t issue any type of refund. Waited and of course was never contacted. I called Wyndham and the representative said they don’t ever issue refunds for those kind of inconveniences. She did say she would issue me points for a free room, ok that’s cool. Lol go to use my “free room” and guess what not enough points for a free room were issued.

Long story short, this place is not worth the over $150 we paid for our one night stay considering the minimal things you would expect in a room weren’t even available.

Rant over, was going to give this hotel one more chance until the whole points thing so I will definitely not be giving this place another penny!

Safe travels everyone inspect your room before you head out to have fun!

We had 3 adults- only option available was king bed with pullout couch. The first room we got in had a toilet that leaked all over the floor right away. We got moved to another room that smelled very musty - almost sickening. There was no linen for pullout bed. Called and was told we had to go to front desk to get. Then were told there were no pillows available? Bed has a metal frame so every time you move it makes a banging noise like a heating vent expanding. There was no soap or shampoo in the new room (there was in the original room so it should have been there), and considering there was a dead cricket in the bathroom, I'm not sure it was even cleaned. Not impressed.

Absolutely loved everything about this day. The place was in a perfect location and it is absolutely beautifully maintained inside and out.

It wasn’t that great. The whole room smelt like mildew the whole time. And the whole hotel kinda smelled bad. The beds were uncomfortable. The water smelled like sewer water. The pool was so hot felt like you were swimming in a fresh bathtub. The breakfast was good.

Terrible place. Smoke-free building and the $250 room reeked of smoke. Moved to another room with peeling paint and pool smelled like cooked broccoli, if you know what I mean. Definitely would not recommend. Rooms should be $99 and lower if you consider staying here.
