La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston East at Sheldon Rd reviews
16Called ask if pool was heated they said yes we arive pool is cold! The locked gate to enter and exit was nice.
We stayed the weekend and the first night we had a spill in the bed and needed new sheets and a blanket but we were told none available.we were brought a fitted sheet only that was too small. 2nd there were a dozen teen boys on our floor running and hollering and wrestling up and down the hall and knocking on people's doors.we told the front desk and she said she would handle it but they were doing it Saturday night as well.but can't expect much better from the kids or front desk when the parents were being allowed to party all night in the lobby with bottles of Jack and cases of beer like a night club.and the breakfast was absolutely horrible and not much of a selection.very very disappointing weekend
This is the nicest la Quinta I've stayed in yet! The rooms were absolutely awesome. And the beds are actually very comfortable! I slept like a baby and compared to most hotels this one is like a palace in the rooms. I gave it 5 stars because that all it would allow!
Was electrocuted by the elevator door button. I notified front desk, his name was Timothy. Timothy did not seem to care, didn't offer anything to make it right. Will never return here.
Definitely love the heated indoor pool at this facility.
Breakfast buffet has good variety.
Love the balcony view of the ocean!
The rooms were ok for the price. Clean for the most part and spacious. Nice sitting area oitside for those like me who love fresh air. Not much to see or do near the property.
Ah, Houston, we had a problem! Decided to corral the family for a three-day space mission in the Big H, and my usually trusty travel app guided us to what I can only describe as the 'Hotel Horrendous'. First off, the reception team was more elusive than a friendly cat at bath time – trying to get a hello was like playing hide and seek with a ghost!
Now, let's talk ambiance, shall we? This hotel must have been whispering sweet nothings to the highway because it was RIGHT THERE. The constant serenade of cars zooming by was like having a symphony of lawnmowers in the room - all day, all night. If you fancy a lullaby of honking horns and rubber burning, this is your paradise. Otherwise, it's less 'sweet dreams' and more 'suite screams'!
The lobby will fool you. The first day it rained and I could barely breathe from all the chemical smells in the air from the outside brought in. The next day was Christmas eve and I thought I was in a war zone. Gunshots for 6 hours straight. The next morning I woke up to a screaming toddler whose parents let him scream in the hallways for hours. The water pressure is horrible and the water doesn't get hot enough to clean. The mini fridge is loud and will ruin any opportunity for sleep. The towels were dirty. The highway traffic is non stop. The hotel is nit worth more than 40 per night. I complained to the manager and she didn't care.
Very clean, nice rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Would definitely recommend it!
Stayed here when my husband traveled to work. Rooms are very nice and clean. Bathroom is beautiful with good water pressure. Pillows were PERFECT! I got a great night sleep on the bed. Will stay here again!
Everything was great from the front desk to the bartender our only complaint is the water pressure from our shower sucked.
It was perfect for my hospital stay. The people were friendly, the rooms clean and comfy. Close enough to the museum/hospital area but far enough away from the Houston hub bub and prices. Stayed at one of the "better" hotels nearer the hospital area and it was a disaster. This was much better.
Had a fabulous stay around Halloween very festive, clean, great service & awesome bartender
Location was not something we would have chosen, but we were helping a family. The service was very good and the rooms were good. Coffee sucks big time. McDonald's wasn't far, so we got coffee from there.
(Room 216) If I could I would give them negative stars I would, they have a INFESTATION OF ROACHES I have been here for a week. When packing up to leave in the morning I see a ROACH come from behind the couch. Then I move the couch and see a lot of them I also see the same white powder I seen behind the TV stand when hooking up my PS5 & Xbox. Which means they were trying to hide the ROACHES.
Very unfortunate experience. As soon as we arrived, small cockroaches appeared, we asked to change the room and cockroaches continued to appear. The lady at the Front Desk was very kind, but we had to request a refund for the 3 nights we planned to stay there and go find another hotel.
