La Tapatia, Sugar Land TX

Honestly, I'm not one for trying new places, but holy cow, this place was amazing! People complain about flavor put some salt on it sissy's, they are just watching out for your blood pressure. You overweight Americans should be thankful. Anyway, my grandma is in the ICU, and I literally left her to eat here with my dad, and wow, I'm going back with a full tummy. I definitely recommend the street tacos, and if you want to make it great, bring your own pink salt, oh yeah, and that salsa is amazing.

Wasn't impressed with the food. Chicken flautas had no flavor to the chicken. Looks like they didn't even season it just rolled it and fried it. $14.95 for 2 flautas rice and beans is hardly a dinner plate. My husband's food was ok he said but really greasy.
The only thing good was the green sauce.

$$$. NEEDS flavor. Plastic bottle coke products, no refills. Chip dips taste like vinegar.

Our first time at La Tapatia. When we entered, we were greeted and seated immediately. The interior has a nice Mexican atmosphere. Chips came out and drinks were quickly delivered to our table. So far, so good.

Our server took our order. Guacamole to start, followed by our beef enchiladas/taco combos. The medium size guacamole was good, very fresh, and needed just a little salt. Our entrees came out VERY hot (temperature). When they say hot plate they mean hot plate. Our enchiladas were very good. They were filled full with ground beef. The tacos were good too. I like tacos with meat that is seasoned well and with no runny sauce. This taco was very good. The shell appeared to be house made They also arranged the taco on the plate without getting it into the enchilada chili sauce which we all know creates a soggy taco shell. Rice was standard rice. The refried beans? I love refried beans. The refried beans at La Tapatia were some of the best if not THE best. The seasoning was excellent. My wife had the charro beans and they too were seasoned very well.

We really enjoyed our lunch at La Tapatia. Prices were reasonable, service was perfect, food was hot and very good. You can't ask for much more.

I ordered the grilled shrimp burrito dinner and it was amazing! What I really appreciated was that they stuffed the burrito with a lot of shrimp so you could taste it! The chips were warm and fresh and everything tasted amazing! Absolutely loved it

They really need to hire more servers and hot staff. Our waiter barely stopped by our table and we watched multiple parties who had been waiting at least 20+ minutes leave without being seated because there was no one to seat them. It was really embarrassing honestly. It was our first time (we were goi g to a show at smart financial) but not sure if we will be back. The food was good but there are other places near by that seem to care more about their customers.

Always great food, friendly staff, and the margaritas are perfect! We love their patio and their private dining room is really nice too! Solid choice for Mexican food in Sugar Land

Great food, service was a bit delayed but it was due to a concert nearby, however, the staff was very kind. Will definitely come back!

Excellent experience, went here on referral from our daughter, food was out super fast, staff was super friendly and attentive, margaritas were exceptional as well, a bit pricy on drinks but not bad at all on their food especially as portions are pretty large.

Kids food came last after the adults had the appetizers and main course although it was ordered first. The fajitas normally come sizzling hot but it wasn’t the case. We only got one order of tortillas for two large fajita orders and had to wait every time for the waitress to show up and wait for another order of tortillas.
This wasn’t rush hour by any means, it was at 3: 15 PM on a Sunday.
Maybe they had bad luck with our table but I can only rate based on my own experience.

I love this place! My husband loves it! Friendly staff and the food is off the chain! Okay, so Mexican food is Mexican food but Mexican food with great flavor is THA TEA! Go and you won’t be disappointed Pooh!

By far the worst service in the area… I frequent the restaurant for the food. However, the service is awful. Your glass is always going to be empty, and no matter what kind of beans you request you will always get the opposite.

Such a big restaurant name and their phone doesn't work. Been trying to place to go order since 30 min. They can hear me but i cant hear them

Popped in for lunch and ordered 3 fajita tacos. Let me say that the fajitas had zero, zero taste. The tortilla had better. Lol. Sat at the bar, waitress acted as though I was a bother. This place is a complete joke of a Mexican restaurant. Oh, on the way out, I asked for a tea to go. 5 minutes later, nothing. Saw my waitress on the way out, told her don't worry about it, I changed my tip. Go somewhere else people. This restaurant is terrible!

Pretty great place drinks were amazing and great price for happy hour too, pretty decent size as well. Paid around $25 before tip for 2 margaritas and a half order of nachos. For the nachos they could have used more meat and toppings a little plain but still pretty good.

The food here is better than your typical Tex Mex restaurants and the margaritas are awesome. They are made with fresh ingredients when ordered rather than a remixe.

The place is nicely set up and the service excellent. But the food is pretty bad. I got crispy tacos. The meat filling was incredibly greasy, dripping grease. And very little flavor. I had to pour the green salsa in it to have any flavor. Btw, the red salsa was also fairly tasteless. My daughter got hibiscus drink, which was super sweet. And enchiladas and one flauta. The flauta, which was premade, was pretty good. The enchiladas were tasteless, too. We will not be eating there again.

The best experience: let me start by saying that today we stop by this restaurant, and we were serve like royalty by a waitress name Sandra She is the BEST, the food was great and very flavorful, i had a mix grill fajita plate and my wife had a order of fish tacos and they were also very good, and it was ready in minutes, and thats what i call quality customer service, the world would be better with people like Her, so if you ever go to this place feel free to ask for Her she will be happy to serv you.
