Lake Houston Wilderness Park reviews
23Beautiful park first time ever coming out the see this place, seen a few deers crossing the gravel road, and seen a pack of wild boars off in a clear patch of grass
Decent park for group camping. If you expect to see Lake Houston from here, think again. It does have some nice camping facilities and creek access, as well as a large pond they call a lake.
This place was awesome. The landscape was nice, they had fun activities, the creek was gorgeous, and they had like 50 trails. Even though I had a good time there are mainly one con. THERE WERE MOSQUITOES EVERYWHERE! I have like 1 thousand bites. Besides that this place is furthermore, amazing.
Awesome wilderness park, with wildlife, deers & etc. Friendly staff, fun activities, super clean bathrooms, all next to a major city
Staff is nice and friendly. The park is clean and the cost is very reasonable for a family.
Really enjoy the overnight camping here.
We rented 3 of the Lake Cabins for a group of friends retreat. It rained all weekend and it was marvelous fun sitting inside enjoying the company and the food. They are clean and well maintained. We loved it.
Great park with shady spots along Peach Creek that are perfect for a cooling wade for myself and dogs. Nice improvements as a Houston city park.
Had a wonderful time there a month ago with my 4 yr old granddaughter and came back this time with my daughter. Very relaxing and peaceful along with reasonably priced. Will continue to come back.
One of the cleanest parks I have visited. We did a long hike on the Ameri trail and it was clean and beautiful.
Beautiful park.very clean and well maintained trails, camping sites, bathrooms, and renting facilities.
This place is AWESOME! The lazy river is a great place for small children to float and play. I love everything about it and they are always doing improvements
My family and I love camping and are always in the hunt for new places. We came here and had so much fun. Not much parking space but an amazing family experience.
Loved the grounds and the amenities. The cabin was beautiful and slept 6 people. The air conditioner and 3 ceiling fans kept it near freezing! Jack and Jill full bathroom with standing shower. There are 2 full size beds and a pull out sofa. Living room and dining areas fully furnished. Kitchenette with electric stove. Screened porch with 2 rockers and another ceiling fan. A fifth fan is over the deck. Amazing!
Enjoyed our third time holding our family reunion at the park this weekend. Great time. Cabin very clean, nice. Well kept up. Thanks to Pat and Doreen, Camp hosts. They took care of our group and we're so kind and gracious. It's obvious they enjoy their position and were willing to do everything they could for us.
Consider wearing shoes when exploring/ swimming Peach Creek because I always find lots of glass in the river and the sandy shore. The bathrooms and showers are excellent.
We came for the weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. We took 7 kids and never were they bored! The nature center is really interactive with touch screen learning games ECT. The swim area is perfect for kids small to big with 2 rope swings and A tire swing. A couple complaints: you can't gather fire wood but they sell it for $20 a bundle security doesn't have keys to the restrooms and I guess kids locked all but 1 shower and there was no way to unlock it until morning!
Great afternoon hike on the Ameritrail! We were able to see a large snake, deer, and a family of hogs! Plus, plenty of birds and other critters rummaging around. We always enjoy the tranquility and beauty of this area given its close proximity to Atascocita. Highly recommend.
If you live in new caney this is a great place to get away! ! $3 per adults and free for kids 12 and under! !
This is a great park right here in the city or near the city of Houston. It has plenty of trails and wonderful camping areas and picnic areas. This is a great Park to bring your family or your dog for a walk and even cook outside under one of the gazebos. This is a great Park to go exploring in the woods and enjoy an afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
