Lakeway Marina reviews
20Extremely accommodating and customer focused. Refreshing to deal with a company so attentive to the customer. Will definitely rent a boat there again!
We had such a great experience renting a party barge. Captain Michael and Mr. Clark we’re incredible crew members and provided such great service.
The trek down to/up from the dock is a little bit of a difficult one particularly if someone in your group is older or has a disability/injury impacting mobility.
The boat was supplied with 2 large ice chests with plenty of ice, tables, chairs, life vests, and pool noodles.
I would definitely come back! Thanks again, Michael and Clark!
Warning! Warning! Warning!
This marina is only accessible by scaling a cliff. Any hopes of bringing big ice chests and the like are going to end in complete misery. None of the staff are going to warn you of this fact. Pack light or make sure you bring a sherpa.
The boat ramp is also something out of a nightmare. Its a single lane with one side being a sheer cliff. If you are an adrenalin junky or wants risk falling off a cliff to launch a boat, this is the place for you. If you aren't an expert with your trailer, you might really die. This isn't a joke.
The marina also has no security. You can walk from the parking lot, scale the cliff, and go anywhere on the marina you want without any door from stopping you. Any boat can be accessed 24/7 by anyone. The cliff is basically the only security.
Otherwise, the staff were nice and the boat store had about anything you might need.
We had a great experience renting a runabout boat on a Saturday. They were busy but staff was helpful and efficient. The boat was in excellent shape. They provided ice and cooler as well as map and recommendations on where to swim. We will use Lakeway Marina again and recommend as a good option for lake Travis.
Rental ready and waiting for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time on the water and the return process was smooth too. Rental price seemed a little high but when your one of the few games in town take advantage.
They staff is very friendly and attentive even during rush time. The facilities are really nice and air conditioned on the dock. The walk is a walk and includes a fair amount of stairs. (Caution to those that have knee or other physical issues that make it difficult to use stairs) all those things mentioned lead to a 4 star rating, if the boats where newer and in newer condition for the same price I would have given five stars. That being said The boats worked and did not break and the seats were free from major tares.
We rented jet skis for 2 hours and it was great! Perfect amount of time out there and we pulled off in a cove to jump off and swim.
The staff at lakeway marina is so nice. One person is nicer than the next! Definitely recommend going here if you are headed to lake travis.
Amazing service! Gas, beer, food. You can find everything at lakeway marina! Jodi the GM really cares about everyone!
Great place to rent boat and enjoy your day with friends and family. Do call them and ask them for floatable mats and tubes for water fun before booking your boat. For certain type of boat they do not allow floating mats and water tubes.
We visited in a sunny day and got to drive on a rental boat. The staff was friednly and down to earth. It was awesome ride and the view is stunning.
Had a great rental experience. Great customer service. Had issues with the first boat and they changed it and gave a refund for the first hour. Much appreciated. Recommended!
Lakeway Marina is a treasure. They have expanded their retail experience which is very good with lots of merch and things boaters may have forgotten to bring. We rented a boat and the runabouts are in good shape and well maintained for rentals. Customer service was great and the young man who helped us was awesome.
Went to rent a paddleboard today but the wind was too much and they didn't recommend it because the water was so choppy. I rented a boat instead. It was so fun! Never took a boat out by myself but I was really easy. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
This was my first time renting a ski boat. Their team was very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat was brand new. My friends and I had a great time. We’ll definitely rent from them again!
DO NOT book a party barge here! This company may be okay for other services but looking at other reviews, people with barges have had the same horrible experience that we had.
We booked a barge to celebrate some friends birthdays and it was turned around after only 45 minutes. They claimed that 2 people were unsafe to be on the boat. We listened to the captain and dropped off the few people they had issues with. Then they BRIBED us saying he would only take the rest of us back out if we paid a 30% tip. He proceeded to kick everyone off the barge.
We called management and they said that their reasoning for not allowing the rest of us to go back out was because the captain had “had enough” which is NOT a valid reason to refuse a service we paid a lot of money for when no one else was causing any “issues. ”
They didn’t offer any sort of discount/refund for this. Horrible and rude customer service. I’ve been on multiple party barges with other companies and have never had such an awful experience.
Don’t understand the logic behind providing party barges as a service and then being unable to deal with people safely partying.
The boat provided was nice and our time on the lake was fun however, when we arrived on dock the young man who was collecting our life jackets (Tucker) thought it was okay to harshly rip the life jacket off of one us. Then while we were gathering our belongs off the boat Tucker looked at my friends 6 year old daughter and said “you have no respect” and when we confront him about this he rudely walked off and when we approached him again about his disrespectful comments and behavior he remained silent instead of owning his mistakes. When a manager was called to correct the problem, nothing was done to correct his employee. People come to rent a boat and have a relaxing time on the lake with their family and loved ones, but no one wants to have an experience with rude employees who physically rip life jackets off of them or verbally assault their loved ones. Hopefully Tucker’s rude behavior is corrected and this business can thrive. But until he is corrected, bad reviews will continue to be reported
Staff were friendly, kind, helpful, accommodating, and flexible. Most of them were young but seemed to know what they were doing. The facility is handicap accessible with a tram that lowers you down to the marina from the parking lot.
The boat was well equipped and super fun. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly. Recommend!
Very nice customer service but I felt like the Jet Ski was old and had issues with how it steered. Other than that, awesome.
Weekdays are cheaper for renting!
This is a great marina for accessing Lake Travis, assuming you don't need to park your trailer there.
