I have such mixed feelings about living here. The issues with this complex go way beyond management, but a lot of the problems are bigger than them. Here's the good and the bad:

The good:
- GREAT location - can walk to hike & bike trail, close to town
- Stef and Miranda in the leasing office are honestly the best. So nice and helpful!
- Nice amenities (pool, gym, sky lounges) which are kept super clean
- Free garage parking
- 24/7 security officer for no additional complex fee

The bad:
- Other than the amenities, this complex is FILTHY. There is a roach infestation (roaches coming up the shower, kitchen and bath drains) that seems to come and go. The carpets in the hallways are dirty, the garage and stairwells look like they've never been cleaned since the complex opened, it smells like hot garbage in the garage and lower hallways, I could go on.
- There are issues with the elevators, especially in building one
- Retail tenants are irresponsible, dumping old, rotted grease into the garage without proper cleanup, leaving garbage to pile up, etc. I have lived above retail before but this is worse than what I've seen previously.

Overall, I certainly understand why people choose to live at this complex. I do see the management making repairs, so maybe things will improve! I don't think it is a bad place to live, but the location, not the units, props up the value.

I have never had to deal with more nonsense from a front office in my entire life. I could go on about the noise and thin walls and smelling like dump, but somehow the front office has managed to make themselves more of an issue than all of that. Michelle specifically has been the biggest issue.

They want to fine me for my dog's medical condition. My dog has a medical condition that requires her to stay off leash as much as possible. This is a perfectly behaved, well trained dog that loves all the other dogs in the community. They requested medical documents, which I provided. Then denied medical documentation and continued with threats of fines.

Low quality management spending their time on nonsense constantly.

By far the best apartment complex in Austin. Stefanie went above and beyond the call of duty to help with getting a lease in place that worked for me and the complex itself is unmatched with a great gym, pool, and retail shops below.

While I haven't lived here, I took a tour with Stef and absolutely loved the place, and my husband and I have this property as #1 for when we relocate. Beautiful property with amazing amenities, everything is nearby (location couldn't be better). Most importantly, Stef is awesome and she answered all of our questions with the best attitude. She made the tour 10/10!

We moved in recently and so far are big fans of Lamar Union. The location is great as there's a large number of good restaurants and neat bars in the area, as well as some nice parks (like Zilker) nearby.

Really, the only issue we've had so far is with the windows. There's no real problem on Lamar Union's end, but the manufacturer who made the windows for every apartment apparently has gone out of business, which makes sense considering the quality of the windows. It sounds like every window (or nearly every window) will eventually have cloudiness, smears, and fogging due to an "argon" leak between the dual-paned glasses. I've attached photos below showing what that looks like from the outside. It sounds like Lamar Union has a plan in place to replace the windows, but it's a long effort considering the substantial lift required.

If you're moving in, one last thing to be aware of is the height limitation of the garages. We made the unfortunate decision of moving in during the heat wave over Texas and while we were told that we'd be able to park our Home Depot moving truck (9'4" clearance) in the garage, that wasn't the case.

All the staff members with whom we've spoken (Miranda, Michelle, Patrick, etc.) have been incredibly responsive and helpful in answering our questions. Overall, we love it here so far, we just wish that the window manufacturer/installation company had done a better job initially and that there could be a more efficient resolution!

Great amenities and retail in the building. Residents don't pick up after their dogs and pool is a party scene. The townhouses on the Treadwell side are lovely and chill though!

We recently moved but I wanted to give a big shoutout to LUA for all the time my husband and I lived there.
We had a one bedroom, one bath and it was somehow so roomy (living in Colorado now; our apartment isn't quite as nice and priced about the same- and the pool at my new place isnt open all year round). The shops downstairs were awesome; nothing like being in your PJs and being able to get some ice cream or a beer just a few steps away.

The staff was always really sweet- Stefani was so helpful with our moving check-out and prompt with emailing us the information we needed to give to our new leasing office. I know my fatboi (cat) and tiny one (dog) miss this place as much as I do. Thanks LUA for everything, hopefully we'll be back one day.

I wouldn't recommend living here. I spent my entire lease battling constant noise issues with my neighbor in apartment 1124. Management was made aware of the issues and either are apathetic of the distress it causes or are willfully ignorant of how they can address the issue. While security tried to help me with my problems, the neighbor was verbally aggressive towards them and refused to listen to their requests so they are at a loss as to what they should do. This has lasted a year - the length of my lease - and unless properly addressed by management it will continue indefinitely. The attached video is only a snippet of the nightly occurances and you can imagine how bad it gets from the inside of the apartment.

I've never seen an apartment space quite like this. It's relaxed and luxurious, with tons of customizability and room to move around. The apartments themselves have great layouts, the staff (we met Stef) are witty and welcoming, and the amenities are jawdropping. The large pool overlooks a city view. I would love to live here when my current lease ends!

This apartment complex is beautiful. Steph hosted myself and a group on the rooftop and everything with extremely clean and the views at night were incredible. I highly recommend this location!

This is my 2nd year here at Lamar Union and I honestly might even sign again. The staff has been very helpful and they def listen to your concerns. Maintenance seems to always be on time whenever there’s an issue. I love that it has so many places for me to go and the gym is also a major plus. The reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because I just wish they did some renovations in the unit like new flooring, new fridge they aren’t terrible it just would be nice. Also I just wish my neighbors couldn’t hear me so much. I work pretty late and when I come home I guess they can hear me come into my apartment along with my dog who gets super excited to see me.
However I feel like when you’re living in an apartment you’re just going to hear things … like we literally are in the same building. And yeah you do hear people from tlc, soto, and draft house so just expect that. It’s not bad though I really am fine with it.
Like it could be worse you could be living in New York and that place never shuts up lol.

A couple months ago I posted a frustrated review about living here. I have added a star to my review just for Stef and Miranda from the leasing office. They were extremely helpful on Saturday and I appreciate having them as part of the team!

Post from Feb:
Moved here about a month and half ago. And have recently been frustrated. Last night my roommate and I got stuck in the elevator (after it dropping a floor) and had to call the fire department to come get us out because we got stuck in between floors! After talking with staff, the elevator
"has had underlying issues and got damaged in the storm on Dec 24th" and yet they still let it operate, which is a hazard. When stuck in the elevator, the emergency maintenance line didn't work properly and the help elevator number didn't help at all. Thank god we had service and could call the fire department ourselves. The leasing staff response to all of this was
"they can't guarantee the elevator will work". Fast forward to tonight, and the building fire alarm went off around 10: 30 pm. That's 2 nights in a row of firefighters showing up here. And the front lobby door was broken for weeks and came home one night to find a homeless man sleeping in the lobby. I get things break, but not this often and the elevator shouldn't have been allowed to operate if not working 100%. If things for are always broken, confused why I am paying so much for it.

My apartment at Lamar Union is very modern and clean. They have thought of everything to make my life easier. The location can't be beat. They provide lots of opportunities to meet my neighbors. I could not be happier at Lamar Union.

All settled in and very pleased with my apartment. I have friends that live here and made the decision to make it my home.

Attended an event in their sky lounge. It was a great space, great view and the staff was fantastic and helpful. Steph was amazing and very helpful with the set up. 10 out of 10 would recommend!
