I'm not a guitar player but my boyfriend is. He was like a kid in a candystore looking at all the guitars and I was kept happy by the sweetest and most beautiful little dog! She kept me entertained and even shared her tennis ball with me while my bf was geeking out:) My only regret was not asking what her breed is!

Went in to check out their selection of guitar pedals, and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They set me up with a guitar and amp and let me test the pedals I was interested in, making sure I had everything I needed. Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m looking to buy a guitar or amp.

Awesome service as always. The shop feels welcoming and their inventory is heaven to any guitar player. Just bought a Anderson Guitar from them today and I have no regrets. Definitely recommend this place!

I stopped in recently and was really impressed. I knew they had a great selection of guitars but what surprised me was how welcoming and interactive they were. Usually when I walk into a place that has the “please ask for help” notes on all the guitars I get apprehensive. It typically means it’s a guitar museum and you won’t actually get to try anything. This wasn’t that way at all.
The guys were accommodating and knowledgeable. They were excited to talk shop, pass around guitars they thought were good fits for me and even pull a few just for fun to let me get some different takes. You could tell they love guitars but even more so that they love sharing that love of guitars.
The whole experience was refreshing. I wasn’t buying anything top shelf or over the top either. I was trading in for a mid level working guitar.
Higher end shops can often be elitist or intimidating. I’ve been to more than a few. This one was far from it. I came out of their more knowledgeable and with more experience than I went in with. It was like being a kid in a candy shop, which is always dangerous for guitar players….
Go check them out.

If you are a guitar player or have a guitar player in your family, this is the place to go. The owner is so passionate about this business and his clients, and I will absolutely be coming back for all of my guitar needs!

Hands down, Lark Guitars is the best guitar store in Texas. As far as guitars, amps and pedals, I have never been to a store that offers such pristine and tasteful inventory. Lark offers brand new boutique equipment from the finest manufacturers across the globe. They are able to accommodate the beginner player, to the expert player and certainly collectors looking for truly unique and stunning pieces.
Clint, Albert and Michael are experts of all things music and offer first class customer service. I have personally been amazed by their 2nd to none selection of Mesa Boogie, Fender Custom Shop and PRS. They welcome in all people to the store and spend quality time with each customer answering any questions that arise.
If you are in the South Texas area, a drive to Lark Guitars is a drive that any person interested in music should make. You will truly be blown away. Lark also caters to people outside of the region, as they ship not only nationally, but globally! Lark is always willing to create relationships and find the best deals for the customer. They have made a lifelong customer in myself and I am positive they can have another in you!

BRO.
Lark Guitars is a top notch shop! I had been in the market for a sub $1,000 guitar, and was actually playing a great number of Gretsch electrics, but was finding nothing that really grabbed me. I went to Lark to broaden my horizons (Higher end Gretsch guitars, Fender, PRS, or whatever beauties they have that fit my tastes and budget).

Now, I've owned a number of acoustics, but have actually been hesitant to dive into the electric world. With thousands of different tones, brands, styles, and then.pedals, amps, heads, pups, other mods, etc. So, I was not overly sure at exactly what I wanted. I DID have a specific tone in my head, but I thought I could just buy a pedal after I bought a guitar to make what I heard in my head come alive.

Ok, so, Albert greeted me as soon as I walked in. That guy is RAD! Super chill, and just trying to help me. He was not trying sell me something or acting annoyed that I was there. He asked a couple questions about what I was looking for, and I gave him a roundabout idea. So, he handed me a jewel of a Gretsch and showed me to the freakin "candy shop" show room. I plugged in, but wasn't "feeling it, " so he brought another Gretsch. NOPE.not it. BTW. Albert did not seem annoyed, he only seemed interested in helping me find my guitar. The next gem that he brought out was a John Mayer PRS "Silver Sky" in the dragon fruit color. He had me at John Mayer. I celebrate the guy's entire catalog! Seriously though. I plugged in that guitar and was pretty much sold instantly. BUT.as soon as I hit the forth setting on the pup switch selection, I thought "Welp. I'm done here. " For real! I had a tone in my head for weeks, and here it was placed right in my hands by Albert. What's RAD about Albert is, he listened to my preference, assessed, and brought me a NON-Gretsch! Which by the way was EXACTLY what I was really looking for. And, btw.the ergonomics, feel, playability, tonal spectrum, color, vibe, and all around experience of that guitar is kinda sensual.

Albert is crazy good at what he does! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Oh, and the guitar I purchased came with a gig bag, but I always spring extra $$$ for a hardshell. When I asked Albert, he didn't try to upsell to the hardshell. NO! As a matter of fact, he was like "the gig bag is pretty great bro. " But, when I told him I wanted it he was like "Shoot! Ok. "

My experience at Lark was incredible! A lot of salespeople at music shops are freaking rude. Like they're annoyed because people are there buying expensive stuff, and asking questions about big dollar items that they are looking to purchase (Reader, you know what I'm talking about ;-) ) But, that is NOT what I got at Lark or from Albert! If I'm ever in the market for another guitar. I know who I'm reaching out too! You guessed it! Albert & Lark Guitars!
